we hadnt these for a while
make it max comfy

picrel is an italian/dutch/bong ww2/early postwar webbing brit style with an austrian shovel, enfield l1a1.
3 mags per mag pouch, one bottle per flask pouch. red bull tastes funny out of an alu bottle, ek se.

imagine the shoulder grease on the rhodies who ran such setups with more mags and bottles for days thru the hot african bush. with nothing but a tshirt under these suspenders. ouch.
run to the hills lads.

it dependes on where you are lurking from.
In france fals are 1100-1500 per rifle.
In the german lands its a 2000 rifle.

But there is nothing below 8-900 c-bills for a sks or a chink ak, any ar15 or similar military semiauto will cost 1500 or more.

if you wanna go REALLY cheap, a 2nd hand remington 750 can be had for like 4-500. but they arent super reliable or accurate, and you have to search for em.

to stay on topic, heres my most budget but superswift combo sporting a sks (pitted chamber but works superb), serb suspenders (rusty hooks) on an austrian alice belt/big pouch, belgian ammo pouches (full of red sand) and a brit flask.
5 sks 10 shot strips go into each pouch
the chink machete actually saw service in tansania/ruaha. i only used it to shake the bushes before pissing into them, so the snakes fuck off.

More like "used to be cheap".
Got mine some 7 years ago for roughly 750โ‚ฌ, they are now 1200 to 1600โ‚ฌ guns in my country.

Using picrel or oldschool Arktis chestrig with L1A1 depending on circumstances. The belt kit is an old commercial PLCE hip pad that I've added molle, D-rings and waist strap with buckle to, pouches are milsurp british army Osprey Sharpshooter and UGL pouches (4 to 6 โ‚ฌ per pouch), suspenders are knockoff PLCE.

I think things are going to get a lot more interesting in the US for poorfags. BBB passing means cheapshit suppressors flooding the market and I don't know if SHORT act will change much. And it looks like companies are starting to target the poorfag market more like Hi-point finally getting into ARs and parts kits no longer needing the barrel to be cut to be imported into the US anymore.

the working man gets less and less for his money. and the quality goes down.
compare a 20 year old zastava m85 or cz 527 .223 bolt action to a ruger ranch or a savage patrol. the old europeans have all milled steel parts, wooden stock, irons...robust quality. the new american rifles have cast/ plastic parts and a plastic stock, no irons. better dont drop em, they might break.
chink akms have much less flesh around the trunnion than an old eastern european akms etc. chink sks for the commercial market have thinner steel
for the receiver.

so a solid advice for young shooters is to read about the topic and buy 2nd hand quality stuff instead of new slob.
accept calibers outside the 308/223 field and good rifles can be had for cheap.

Agreed, while the age of cheap milsurp nuggets might be over you can find a fuckload of cheap and quality used hunting rifles in calibers like 7mm rem mag at pawnshops and they are usually an amazing value as long as you stay clear of ones like the 90s and later produced remshit 700s. The same can be said of pistols too, old ruger P series handguns are built like tanks can be found for cheap in a shitload of places.

For real man. I went through a weird period a few years ago where I would be buying, selling and trading guns like crazy. Not to make a profit, but to try new things instead of properly saving my money. I wasted soooo much money in the process, and lost some pretty good pieces like my broom handle. Never sell if you don't have to.

I accept your conditional statement. Don't go hungry, well, maybe a little... But don't buy if you don't have disposable income and cash cushion. I traded a FAL for something I thought I wanted and came out poorly for it. Maybe I just suck at trades, but never again.

EU directive, essentially EU-wide law that must be made national law. It actually IS the Illuminati.
This particular one is the source of many gun-related woes (IIRC it bans 10+ rd mags totally unless you can prove you need an exception and the D*tch wanted it to ban semi autos altogether EU wide originally).

Gear literally does not matter at all. If you were as wise as you pretend to be you would know this, just like a generation of millenial gearfags have figured out. Generations of soldiers all over the world survived without last cut squadron and firstspear tubes and whatever else you're advocating for.

It will be cool to see snobbish lootcrates like you getting your heads blown apart by poorfag guerillas with 20" PSA rifles

I was one of the guys busting your balls. Unironically, an ALICE Pack and TAPs are the best recommendations. Both things I started out with. Don't mind the fact I'm missing my waist belt, I removed the tactical tailor one I had on it for the standard hip belt (too bulky for my liking), but I cannot seem to find the strap at the movement. Still, its tons of fun piecing together kits like that M1 carbine rig I had posted earlier.

I bought a full LC-2 rig for like $50 a few years ago and have put it through hell innawoods, and I've literally never had a problem with it. I don't see how this is a waste of money.
>you're totally going to train in. Instead of just taking a couple of larp pictures and putting it in the closet.
What makes you think we don't use our gear simply because it's milsurp? We're not buying it to baby it. It's surp, it's already dirty and smelly. That's why it's cheap.
You're getting inordinately upset about how other people spend their money.

2 inch wide or 2 inch thick? If b), then it's too thick.

If you have couple bucks to spare, use britbong "hippo pad" (PLCE hip pad/belt padding), it's foam in cordura nylon with loops for the belt, works well, doesn't cost much and is wider under the ammo pouches so the don't bang your hips.

If money's tight, cut a 3 inch strip off of an army foam sleeping mat and zip tie it to your belt at regular intervals with the excess width of the foam overlapping down.

Fugg I remember those days. Crates of nuggets at gun shows, drooling at tricked-out saiga-12s in gunshop windows, pallets of cheap hornady zmax everywhere. Shit was legendary. Only thing was ARs were still the rich kids club, $800 for a basic bitch model.

Yes. Building stripped rcvrs was still the new thing for cheap ARs. The FALs were under valued. And SkS'were still $250/300.

Wasn't implying that the AR with the eotech was PFG stuff. More to say that you can part your way out of PFG status like how I did, and to agree that an ALICE pack and TAP rig are great. I still think M1 carbines are a decent option though, especially if you live in shitty states. Actually, I think a CMP M1 might be the ultimate PFG rifle. Get a service grade for 700 bucks, a cartridge belt and boom. Also, like the FAL guy ITT, these things used to be much cheaper when compared to basic ARs. Other people can post their stuff, its like theres 3 or 4 people ITT who posted anything other than bitching.

It's definitely not my fav pack, I haven't even used it, much less packed it. It's a lot like the TAPs or FLC, better than most people give credit to, because they don't take the time or know how to properly adjust them for fit. The kidney belt is actually nice when hitting the sweet spot for your torso length. Shiny! If this was my only pack, I would be happy, but I like external frame packs.

Have to say though that ALICE worn over USGI TLBV with those wide shoulder pads was reasonably comfortable.

Often. The really mean ones rattle. That plant is a "Crucifixion Bush" (cowboy slang), not as bad as you might think. The chlorophyll is in the skin, it has no leaves to reduce water loss. This one is called a "one way plant" (cowboy slang), in that if you fall off your horse on to one, it's a one-way trip. And it would be.

I have almost exactly that from PSA and it's great. Don't buy it as a complete gun, you can buy the complete upper and complete lower separately (but in the same order is fine) and you'll save money. Complete lowers are only $99 right now and you can pick a complete upper to go with it, pretty much any will work. Some of the uppers will come with the bolt carrier group and charging handle and some won't. Be careful of that when considering price. If you buy an upper without those included, BCG is about $80 and charging handle $10-20. The first upper I post is my exact pencil upper with mid-length gas system. It's more expensive than the other uppers in this price range because of the pencil barrel and nickel bcg which is super smooth. Any is good just preference.

Crye Precision maybe? If Crye is blowing out on you like that then that's... not good man.

You can split Chinese stuff into four grades. A (duty), B (range), C (airsoft), D (shit). Idogear is usually at least B and sometimes pushes into A. They're very good for Chinese gear.
Pic related is side 2 of that Aliexpress infographic with other various assorted goods. If you play your cards right and don't get bonked by tariffs, scams, or duties, Aliexpress and the other Chinasites can be powerful allies to /pfg/.
Their thermals are world class, interestingly enough. You will not find a better thermal for $1,330-1,500 than the Oneleaf.

Was it a JPC by chance? They do have reported failures in the past where the stitching is weak. Other than that I'd think a dud or MAYBE (and this is a stretch) there's a distributor-level comingling issue, Amazon-style, and there's a factory in East Asia somewhere churning out convincing C / D-grade fakes.
This is unrelated to your problem, but comingling and return fraud (order a real X, swap it for a fake X and then return the fake for a refund on the legit one) are huge problems with mega-distributors like Amazon. Never order high-end gear from there.

Lol hell yeah it is. Switch it to high power mode (unscrew bat cap, press and hold both down and up power buttons while screwing cap in) and the vis laser is easily brighter than a Somo PEQ-15 even on mid power, ditto for the IR.
If I had to guess, the vis laser at full power is >35mW.

It's alot like camp gear, milsupr is cheap.and durable because its heavy. So literally, this does not belong itt. The best you can hope for is a decent AR10 and change out the heaviest parts for SUL. Start with the stock, bbl and forestock. Stock to Elftman carbonfiber recoil buffer tube and skeletonized butt. Bbl to carbonfiber wrapped ss liner, I went with BSF, ect. There are many choices. Here, the Ti gas block, Ti FH, and carbonfiber bipod are also in frame. The Ti grip is 3D printed and, from my last search, no longer available. Imagine my disappointment in getting a steel (yuck) grip screw with it. That didn't last as I spec'ed a proper Ti screw. At this point, I think my favorite part is the Ti buffer retainer pin.

Forna large frame aAR? I think you're looking at thier Saber. But for $1260 here a Sig Tread:
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1111082238
I have nonidea at the interchangeability of parts for either, that is where you become the expert on your rifle. It's usually safe to say they are "mostly" interchangeable parts. Sig probably has some fuck around proprietary parts. No big deal. The bbl might get shut out from aftermarket stuff, but that's whee you become the expert.

Got a chink-made one from electrical supplies store specifically because it runs on a single AA battery and has a red light mode. It's not stupid, you can easily have some spare batteries tucked in your kit and AAs can be bought anywhere.

I wouldn't shit on USB rechargeable headlamps either, provided it works together with the rest of your kit. For example if you gonna bring a powerbank anyway, you can just unify on USB charging everything and ditch spare batteries altogether. A solar or hand crank charger even lets you replenish out in the wild, but it's up to you if it's needed and worth it.

Got my first decent backpack recently. Might be kinda ugly, but an OCP or multicam 3 day assault pack in this condition costs around $120, while this only costed $30 in addition to an MTP (my preferred multicam variant) pack cover for $15
While setting this thing up though, I have encountered a few things that leave me with questions
One, what the hell are these inner straps for? It's the one feature of this bag that I have no idea what it's for, I just keep em tucked in with the stiffener currently
Two, what pouches would be good for the molle webbing in the middle of the pack? I don't even know of any that securely fit on just one line of webbing, even small shit like grenade pouches need atleast two rows to be secure. If they just added a second row of webbing I could easily have added a waist pack and had somewhere convenient to store my poncho and poncho liner, but it came like this unfortunately. Honestly, is it worth buying a strip of nylon and having one of my more handy friends sew it on for a second row of webbing? if so, what kinda nylon should I get and where would I even get it?
Three, are there even any pouches out there there are a single column wide but take up three rows of webbing, or is this basically just somewhere to put another 2H & 1W pouch like for a tourniquet or a leatherman?

Picrel is up for ~200 on tacswap and I'm sorely tempted to buy it. Talk me into and/or out of it, anons.

Cons:
-Unknown if it fits me
-200 dollars is not a negligible amount of money something I already own
-Less soul than the current vest I own

Pros:
-Unlike the current vest I own, is not held together with duct tape
-full kevlar for front, back, and sides
-won't get me laughed out of the insurrection

Well, it isn't particularly reversible.
I've split the seams on all the sewing on the straps, folded them at an angle on themselves and drastically shortened and joined the bottom straps. It may need some pins or rivets on the top straps to keep them in place in the future

>Teathers for parachute drop bag. Cut them off, save weight. Win-win.
Very cool, I think I'll use them to tie my poncho and woobie up
>Molle mapmpouch, thin, light no flop inertia.
I'll be real man, I've looked around, and I've yet to find a map pouch that fits that webbing. Is this some specific shit made for the 3 day assault packs or something?
>No.
>N/A
Respecfully, I'm going to buy some grade 2 ucp shit for basically nothing and cut the seams on the webbing to get just the right amount i need. After that, I'm going to take that and my pack to my friend with a sewing machine and pay them like $20 or maybe food to sew that portion of webbing to my pack. After they are done, I'm gonna attach a waist pack and enjoy not needing to put my poncho and woobie in my main pack
>What ever fits, brohiemer.
I guess thats fair, I'm just gonna go with my original plan of having a knife on the side with the e-tool and something medical related on the other. On that note, do you know of any molle pouches for medical shears? Specifically something like the NAR shears, I don't have those fancy leatherman ones

Kevlar degradation is a crap shoot. It depends on the manufacturer and how the previous owner cared for it. Lurk r/gundeals/new if you dont see any armor on link you're interested in.

Literally any bungee or paracord will do this. Mine could pull a truck, they were so ridiculously over built.

Any DIY quick-detach designs out there? Explain the oil filter adapter. Does it have to be threaded on? Will it allow a muzzle brake or a flash hider? Ideally, I would like to have something that I can clamp right onto my A2, but all I am seeing is insanely expensive

m1 carbine is a 800 euros rifle here in austria. maybe a grand for an ibm with a bavarian railway police stamp and metal handguard or similar orchids. cheaper than a sks and a poverty ar. only chink aks are cheaper like 700ish.

got this spaghetti blaster for 100 pinkobills, my cheapest rifle. the neat part is, really accurate carcanos are hard to find, but this is one.

I have an MTV and it's heavy, hot and bulky as fuck. And as the other anon said, you can't trust old Kevlar. I bought a Grey ghost gear minimalist plate carrier for 100 and found some level 3 uhmdp plates on opticsplanet. Much better setup. You could also stick 3a panels, which are available in a semi-soft uhmdp so that you don't have to worry about degradation or durability, but still be super light and relatively flexible.

Could you try sewing some small d rings or something similar on one end (either the suspenders or camelbak) and then some of the ALICE hooks the suspenders use to attach to the belt to the other one? So its easily detachable. Only issue would be it moving a bit

That gives me an idea, and honestly another one is 8$ on eBay. I could use the straps and build in adjustment system with some of those belt sliders. Using a similar clip to those on a seabag for the top and bottom on the d rings and the Alice belt loop holes
