not necessarily, mine has the peq 2 top rail instead of the full picatinny. Depending on tube length you can put a standard buis if the gas block is covered, unless you specifically are going for the MK12 in which case yes get the flip-up gas block

this is closer to what I intended. Criterion QC means good barrels will be put into the market more consistently than DD or FN just in terms of production scale and occasional bad batches. Obviously neither FN or DD produce a large amount of bad barrels on a regular basis but when you're pumping them out daily instead of having 4 month backorders the scale is biased.

I have the bobro scout swivel mount that I didn’t use loctite on so it was resting on my can and caused the zero to move a few inches at 100yds. It does not obstruct the thermal. I actually really like this setup. The red dot is at 2.9 (well 2.86) height same as the GBRS, the thermal optic can be removed to use handheld or on another AR without impacting the red dot, and the Arisaka mount is completely see-through

When i first get any clone type AR-15 rifle or accessories i first take pictures with said rifle in the bathroom and post here to ask if i fucked up, knowing that i did what the sub always recommends (therefore getting my internet points).

Then i proceeded directly to the indoor shooting range (so to not get it dirty) and shoot five (5) rounds through it to test function.

After the function testing, i perform the accuracy phase of testing. I place a target at a simulated 300m distance (25m) and shoot three (3) rounds at the target. This gets posted on the sub to show that it does, in fact, shoot sub MOA as they all should with m193 or m855.

Once I have completed the function and accuracy testing, i take it for a drive looking for any dry roadside park or area. Once i find a good location i pull over and place the gun on the ground, removing any loose debris or pointy objects that could damage the mil-spec finish of my fighting rifle. This is where i take my "i touched grass" photos that will be posted exactly five (5) to ten (10) days after the accuracy post.

He doesn't say that, and that doesn't make sense anyway. Your dot is gonna be the most "trued" when confirmed with the magnifier. It doesn't really matter either way. Zeroing with the magnifier first makes absolutely no difference compared to zeroing just the dot, it's just that you can see any slight errors in your 1x zero when adding magnification
