I don't know what's up with the recent trend of companies making the front slide serrations look different from the rear serrations, but it can't end soon enough. I see what they were going for with the same shape inverted, but it just looks like a mess of random lines going everywhere.

I've always found the minimal forward slide serrations of the late 2000s to be the best balance. Some serrations are nice, but the full wrap-around slide ribbing is unnecessary and ugly. If someone's grip strength is so weak that they have trouble racking a slide (off the front) with something like basic P320 forward serrations, then they can just use the rear ones. The excessive serrations seem more like a terrible aesthetic decision than a practical decision.

Since it uses P320 mags, I wonder if it'll have a grip that's even a little smaller than a typical 2011 like a Staccato P. After all, they are thicker than even a gigantic pistol like the MK23.

If the trigger pull is sufficiently light, it's not totally implausible. 1911/2011 triggers are a lot bigger on the inside.

From what height? Idk, maybe an improbably high one. But extra measure for peace of mind and security is not necessarily a bad thing.

Nobody trying to win is shooting a 19—the compact grip, despite all the "All guns should be Glocks, all Glocks should be 19s" people's apologia, is noticeably less forgiving than a full-size like a 34 or 47. That being said, the fact that gently-tuned Glock-brand Glocks are competitive at all is a huge indictment of the $2000+ Carry Optics gun genre.

Sig's whole design language is derived from they hastily converting a shitty DAO pistol into a striker fire which then conveniently and accidentally started making them some money. Of course they're height over bore is gonna be fucked, it's like that because of the hammer system the 320 used to have. It's always been auspicious that they always said the 320 is the "most" tested pistol of all time, because they themselves haven't even tested it or thought to deeply about it's design at all. The same thing applies to all their shit in general. It's funny that retards have been sucking them off in the past couple years for being "innovative" and not just a company with a bunch of poorly thought out gimmicks. All of that to say, there was always a 0% chance they were gonna "fix" or improve the 2011

Either they're embarrassed to admit what it costs, or this is for people who have so much they don't care. Weird thought, but wouldn't it be possible to do 2011-style double-stackening of a p210? I guess that would mean Sig can't copy everyone else's homework, but it would add some uniqueness to justify whatever the price tag is.

2. we're talking about 2011s here

That's the funniest part about the surge in popularity of 2011s. I've heard for my whole life how the 1911 is an outdated platform, cocked and locked carry hasn't been in style since the 80s, and my personal experience with 1911s has led me to agree that it doesn't hold up against modern options. Then in the last 5 years, suddenly everyone has forgotten about the size, heavier weight, SAO trigger, grip safety, and "complicated" disassembly just because muh doublestack 9mm. Gun companies are just finding new ways to rebrand the same old shit and sell it to gullible people as the newest cutting edge gadget.

You clearly don't understand how many people have been looking at the results that 2011 competition guns get and wet-dreaming of a duty gun that was that easy to shoot. I totally agree that 99.9% of cops will never, ever, no matter how much they practice, out-shoot their issued G17, but if you're a LEA with a practically unlimited budget and a reputation for getting practically unlimited results, the temptation is there, isn't it?

Get with the times grandpa, 1911s aren't for 45 anymore, they're high capacity soft shooting 9mms with crisp single action triggers! I know you didn't have anything like that in your day, but just try to wrap your head around that concept after your second nap, alright?

Bore axis does not matter that much. It can make things worse but having a super low bore axis doesn’t help as much as having a smooth action. Whatever JMB did for the 1911 fucking worked, a 9mm 1911 will be one of the smoothest shooting guns ever, aluminum or steel.

Yes, series 80 internals so it has a firing pin block. A standard series 70 1911 can only go off if the firing pin gets enough inertia to defeat the firing pin spring, so only if it’s dropped muzzle down. Otherwise the 1911 is safe, the grip safety prevents the trigger from pulling itself via gravity, the manual safety locks the hammer in place, and if the gun has proper sear engagement and spring pressure it shouldn’t be jostled from a drop.

Yes, it was not a one time thing, whenever Ben is uploading a video from a strange location, like Iraq, it’s because he’s training somebody important who flew him out there.

He’s not a tactical instructor. He’s only about the pure skill of shooting, if you separate them and train shooting only, the tactical side is much easier since the shooting side will be muscle memory.

>>63889224
The Ben lore is he publicly called out the board for stupid decisions, like holding the national tournament in a state that bans high capacity magazines, with zero legal guidance to the competitors if they could bring in their magazines or not. Published internal emails showing they had no idea what they were doing. I believe embezzlement of USPSA money was also happening, he also publicly called out cheaters like Tony Cowden who were editing the scores of their matches and their friends matches to inflate their rating.

The only reason people are literally shitting and pissing themselves over 2011s is because all of the new shooters during the pandemic had never shot anything but the shitty Glock 19 they bought and going from that to a metal framed handgun with a hammer trigger feels like hopping in a Porsche 911 after driving a Ford Ranger your entire life.
Also companies for some reason stopped making metal handguns after Glock managed to connive their way into making everyone think tire-factory made polymer shitheaps that save in the 100s of grams worth of weight is worth sacrificing a good trigger, sights, slide release, mag release, safety, and ergonomics.
