This cute little shit

Was it any good? Probably decent enough since it, the Pz I and the 38(t) was kind of the backbone when Germany had all their quick victorys against Poland, the lowlands, France etc

Don't ever put the Pz*pfw 1 on the same level as the 38(t).
The 38(t) was a beautiful wallflower. The 1 was a mistake.

it had a second driver facing rear so it could reverse at full speed
>90 km/h (56 mph) top speed
>1,000 km (620 mi) on-road; 600 km (370 mi) off-road. range
it basically shat on everything it ever fought
incredibly easy to operate too from what i have read

I never thought about how drivers see in reverse. I figure they don't have mirrors, although it would be a boring job just sitting in the rear waiting for a chance to drive.

There's a long list of reasons warthunder performance is a terribly inaccurate metric. But I love the M18 for the same reasons as you.

The cramped Pz38 interior you see in WT is very endearing.

From the chief video I feel like the better is either amazing with the right crew or an unmitigated disaster. The periscoped machine gun is quite neat. Overall the only tank you would want to be in ww2 is the Sherman, for literally every reason (armor, survivability, crew comfort, FCS/optics, radios/intercom, winning side) The only thing a Sherman doesn't have is air conditioning. Funny enough they almost had the technology to add a liquid-cooled crew vests.

On further research ammonia refrigeration was invented in 1873, meaning you could have had cooling vests in ww1 tanks

>air conditioning
Dunno if this is also true of the air-cooled Shermans but the Hellcat was distinctly uncomfortable come winter since either (both?) intake or coolant air was partially drawn through the crew compartment. Reckon that was an underappreciated benefit for the ones deployed to Italy + the Philippines.
