In the early days people were 3D printing guns and making pipe shotguns until they captured enough Junta gear. Anyways, my point was that 3D printed shit is retarded in the context of the US. Its meant for guerillas who don't have commercial access to proper gun parts

Update to OKP repro:

Actually pretty cool to look through. Shot a group at 50yds to get it halfway close, used my AK FRT to give it a violent time and back to controlled shots. Held zero like a champ. Only complaint I have is some reflections from the body of the optic and the mounting lever (or the lack there of...) andusing a hex key instead to mount it.

Took my KP9 as well to sight in my PK06 red dot. Turns out it was just low of zero when I put it on. tried to get my milled Steel FRT for it working but its just too heavy for 9mm I think.

A Jap who talks to the seller and sells mostly to JP. I talked to him and asked if he would ship to the USA. Added some duties/service fees (like 30USD) and we were all set.

Hit him up, he would be the best option for side mounted versions, other sites don't ship to USA or are only weaver mounts.

I asked at the very end of last thread. Bonesteel LH folder or OG Beryl RH side folder for my Beryl? Part of me knows the OG would be cooler, but I am afraid I would have to replace the safety because of the shelf they added to them. Plus would add more cost onto the already more pricey option. Pic related is what I am talking about in terms of clearance.

I used to have a picture of it but I cain't find it no more. I'm pretty sure thats how AoA does their customer supplied Jack gas block swaps doe. You should do it with a mill but you can probably get away with securing it a vice and then use a drill press to chain some small endmill bit or ballstone passes together until you end up with a channel.

Or like a dremel if you're brave

You could resin print it, mold it, do a cut mold, and pour some resin. Email Smooth-On if you have any questions about this, especially if you have a Smooth-On or Reynolds Advanced Materials close by, or even if you don't. I think $100 gets you free shipping, and $40-50 trial size silicone, ditto $ in trial resin, maybe $13 inhibit-x, and some mixing cups and sticks (deli 32oz @ $0.19/ea, sticks slightly more) would get you close. You'd need to post print cure the fuck out of that print (uv and isopropyl alcohol bath) and test to make sure there's no cure inhibition though. Tin cure silicone is apparently less sensitive to that, though, but doesn't last as long and isn't skin or food safe but is much cheaper. For food and skin safe and cheap and easy platinum cure, I recommend Sorta-Clear 37. You can see how you have to cut the mold if you end up having to for removal and you can clearly see how the resin is pouring in. They can help you with resin choice; I'm just getting into that. Be sure to get something heat resistant/heat tolerant. IIRC there's something-ONYX that deals with heat well but the cure is long and requires post processing (bake in cheap secondhand toaster oven outside).

Alternatively, FDM it in a slippery material for retardedly cheap @ $15-20 a spool and just replace it when you feel like it.

How was I comparing anything to pre any-year when I made zero reference to year.
I just said not anymore, and $900 is far from "cheap". Your example is more "less expensive" than "cheap". That's pedantic but I don't give a fuck.

Price gouging but in my opinion they are priced fairly for how much the market has changed over the last 20 years.
Some anons have reported their cards being compromised after using their site. I can't corroborate that so its hearsay. That said, my bank put a hold on my card after trying to buy something from their site once. My bank thought it was a fraudulent purchase (it wasn't). Could be unrelated, just my personal experience. I've bought other things from them without issue.
>>63889201
It was more that the position of the front trunnion made it tight, the magwell is tight but not the issue in this case.
The strange thing is all of my other mags fit fine. Tight but not so tight to prevent their insertion. Maybe Tantals have slightly different dimensions than AK-74s?

NTA but I finally put a decent computer together back maybe around 2011/2012 and I've always played PC games but I kinda got over it once Windows 8/10/11 came around. Threadrippers needed 10, VR usually needs 10, etc. I should probably just slowly piece something better together but everything having retarded amounts of DRM, always online/live service, and the laziness of developers (nothing working, 10 months of patches) put me off. Ironically since then I've swapped my main interest from computers to guns, though I always had interest in both.

NTA but then it's some stupid EXIF rotation bullshit; maybe your "default" camera rotation is landscape but I can't say I've ever heard of that before. EXIF data is basically the extra info tacked on. Description, camera used, aperature settings, ISO used, GPS coords, and rotation (ie. this picture should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise x amount of times when displayed). 4chan strips EXIF like a lot of sites because a lot of people all over the internet were uploading images with GPS EXIF data still attached. I remember so many comments of people saying "btw this image is at (place, state, etc)" in comments like 10 years ago when phones really started with saving gps coords to EXIF.

I globbed some weld where the auto sear lever would go that way a FCG can't be inserted unless the FA bits are cut off. I drilled out the pin retainer and replaced it with an AKM rivet to keep the cosmetic look then cut the axis pins to use e-clips. After cutting the lever off you have to weld the two sears together otherwise the striker will slip off. I think I may have had to cut off one of the springs too buts its been awhile

Goddamn this state has speedrun being toxic to guns. There used to be so much related industry here.
There was another importer/distributor in Bohemia, or East Islip, just down the road from this one, circa Y2K I was able to pick out an SAR-1 from hundreds for $300. Hindsight is a bitch.
Also, was on LIRR when a group of skinheads got on and started calling Ronkonkoma RonKIKEama, much to their amusement, which was notable because this was around the same time and not the late 1980s - honestly surprised to see legit skinheads still walking around.

I'm working with a professional woodworker on a better stock than this one. I'll likely sell this one actually.
We're cloning the ATI Fiberforce thumbhole stock (the black glass-filled polymer one) that came on ban-era Maadis and Mak-90s because it has the proper dimensions for a square back receiver like my Saiga.

They never gave a definitive time frame. People forget that they've done this multiple times in the last few years. Usually for a few weeks/months at a time. Anytime some mosque gets blown up or somebody spray paints over license plates they declare a state of emergency and start hording weapons incase a race war breaks out.

It seems fairly controllable, but the issue for me is compatibility. Apparently the SS works best in AKM pattern receivers with FIME triggers, but the only AKM I actually own is a shitty Draco. Everything else I have is AK-100 pattern, Vepr RPK, milled Arsenal, Zastava 1.5mm, Galil ACE, etc. I feel like I should wait for the AK SS to get developed more so I can actually use it in my preferred guns.

That's retarded. Are these accurate full autos AKs, as well as the inaccurate ones? Comparing say, a full auto .22, to a piston driven intermediate caliber isn't an accurate comparison.
So again, up to the shooter.
Can you put 30 rounds on target 300m out now? Then you can probably get most of them there on Super Safe as well.

In that specific circumstance they did. You even had the KFOR commander yelling at people. I'm not super worried because it was probably the bongs that did it, not the US. The bongs bought a bunch of Zastava stuff for training Ukrainians so if I had to guess they probably just sent them back home with the Ukies.

No, like this. Super weird. Yugo BHO mag from AoA ~1-2 years ago. I like to think has some interesting story behind it but who knows. Also the finish isn't rusted, looks more like an accidental faux case hardening which looks nice IMO; has some depth to it.

The hole on the bottom is on one side only but the top is on both sides according to an old post of mine. Holes are not threaded. Any time I've brought it up no one's ever seen a Yugo or any other modified mag, AK or not, like it. It also has the regular drain hole in the spine. These added holes were very obviously done by hand after manufacture rather than in any factory machine; the edges aren't even deburred. The hole is also covered in cosmoline; the surface tension of the cosmoline shows the hole was there when it was applied before being put away in storage. I keep racking my brain wondering whether it was an attempt to connect it to another mag, but if so, why do the top holes go through the lower part of the reinforcing plate? It'd be way too close to the bottom of the receiver. I think about training mags that have loops riveted to them, but again it makes no sense. I think maybe it was a visual aid for training or it was otherwise screwed to a display, but then why do some holes go all the way through (top) and not others (bottom)?

The newer google lens search might pick up on something but it has a hard time picking up on oddities on something it has a lot of sources of normal examples of something standardized like a steel ak mag. I haven't used any text based ones either but it might be able to soft/fuzzy search (if that's the right term; been far too long since I last thought of search types whether search engine or in code) to pick up on vaguely similar search terms better than regular near exact ("containing these words") or similar (google searches using synonyms) searches.

Yeah but these have more individuality and theres difffereing capacitiesfor a variety of factors that maje these mags historically interesting. For example none are the same length. NTA but I want to add that I'm 90% sure the Chinese sometimes took old military mags and refinished them to sell off as new. I've seen dings and pitting in like new mags with zero damage to the bluing. Just a funny observation; very similar to the "Norinco" commercial refurb SKSs where IIRC there have been a couple found to have scrubbed and re-marked receivers.

Liquidating a bunch of AK crap since I only have one AK now and not five. Whatโ€™s a reasonable price to charge for steel combloc mags? Itโ€™s a mix of eastern euro plus a few Chinese. No Iโ€™m not gonna sort them by country.

If they're in decent shape and all work, I'd say $12 each is fair.
If you separate the Chinese ones assuming they're flat backs, those are $20+ each

Wait, WTF, there's enough of them out there that they have a name? Wild; thought I'd never see another, especially when no one recognized it. Shame there's still no real info on them. Does yours have the holes at the top through both sides and the one at the bottom only on one? Also it seems the holes on yours are very similarly placed to mine. Seems they had a jig to place these holes reasonably precisely at the very least (meaning there's probably a signifigant amount of these) which further makes me question why they wouldn't deburr the holes if they had a setup for this modification.
>inb4 it was all just some silly export modification to pin these mags at x rounds (1-3rd?) or some shit and retain a blocker in the base and said theoretical buyer ended up backing out or some shit which is why we have these silly drilled mags and there's zero military reason this modification exists at all

Looks like AoA now sorts them and now want $35 for a "drain hole" mag. Wild. Though looking at their crate of mags in this post I can't say I see any in there anywhere so they must be relatively rare (compared to total % of current surplus Yugo BHO mags).

That's a pic from AoA, anon.
I did do a little more digging though, and the best explanation I came across is they are some sort of training or demonstration type mag, somewhat like the Romanian trainer mags and their welded on tab.
How it was implemented, I'm not sure of though.

Also upon searching for more examples I've found that apparently the Romanians had some similar fun with jigs and drill presses and this only further confuses me. God I love weird examples of surplus but fuck do I hate knowing it'll be very hard if not impossible to find information on why these exist (and knowing the real reason is probably a very boring one). Also if the burrs are on the outside of the mag, does that not mean they were drilled from the back ("interior")? Especially that lower hole where you have no way through both sides. Would that not mean these may have been drilled prior to spot welding the halves or do burrs form on the top or both sides of a hole drilled in thick sheet metal? I can't say I work with anything but thicker copper sheet, and that's very rarely and it doesn't like to form burrs when drilling.

You're probably right with the demonstration explanation. Odd choice for hole placement for that use IMO (I'd do 4-5 vertical, one sided or both rather than having 2 double sided holes at the top) but it makes sense.

I kinda soft-collect gun as stuff if that makes sense (buy neat shit at relatively reasonable prices when availability); I don't know where I draw my line of what I consider retarded but paying $35 for an otherwise $15 mag that's rare because it has some non-deburred holes drilled in it (which, depending on its use, like if it was for demonstration, let's be honest, may be one that failed QC, lol) is definitely past it.

If you want just one AK to both defend your home with and have fun with at the range then the Draco is the best bet for a general purpose civilian gun. I know people like their high speed low drag "what if" min max full length rifles, but if you are just a dirt shooter who wants to expel undocumented renters from your home at 3:37 A.M. then the Draco is the most handy rapid fire high velocity flash bang dispenser that you can get. They are also reliably durable and affordable. Start with a Draco just so you have something and then go from there if you decide that you really need more AK's.

I really wish I got one; they're just neat. Then again I know of a local guy that haunts gun auctions that buys bakes and Falcon folders and shit for way under market and I just talked to a guy who bought a fucking HK steel 30rd M4 mag for $3 from some guy who randomly had it with him for sale so if I'm patient I can get lots of I want for the price it should cost. Hell, I bought a canvas pouch of surplus 20rd M16 mags (4-5 mags IIRC?) for like $20, pouch included, and I found some like new WWII M1 carbine mags for maybe $10/ea in a local store too so I just have to put a lot of time in searching. Eventually I'll find more shit cheap, just a matter of time and additional searching for more auctions and sales.

Holy shit lol. I got a Forster Co-Ax primer press for $15 because a thrift store had no clue what it did. I (years) later paid $5 for a Forster primer press box containing, strangely, all the missing parts on mine ($35 per primer tube x2, when in stock, probably plus other shit I was missing and spares). $250 primer press IIRC. I love out of the blue deals like that, especially when the missing parts show up in another county by sheer luck for even cheaper lol.
