What's the downside of carrying one of these over the usual suspects like Glocks and Sig?

I would personally not want a big mag funnel extension on a carry gun like that, and a Beretta 92FS mag already holds a whopping 18rds flush (and remember, you can load +1), so I don't feel that the stendo is particularly necessary, but overall it'd probably work.

>>63870833
A stock Beretta 92FS weighs like 34 ounces empty, that one with the slimmed down grip frame probably weighs a little bit less. Heavier than some plastic framed pistols? Maybe, but not by a colossal amount.

Sig do also make metal framed guns still.

There is literally zero reason why I would carry the 92.

The downsides are that the Sig is a better gun in every way, and the Glock is plastic and weighs nothing.

I think the only real downside to modern pistols is the optics mounting system being so shitty. It sticks out too high

This
/k/ has turned into reddit guns (but only to donate for hoholand)

On topic: DA/SA is just superior when it comes to handguns for carry. I'm personally a fan of alloy frames, but even poly frame DA/SAs are just way better than striker basedcrap, zoomerlore is also about muh optics in every single thing too.

>>63873000
I agree, I've carried a variety of guns (mostly smith and wessons entire catalog) and personally DA/SA kicks the shit out of all the alternatives. Problem is I have yet to find a DA/SA pistol I really enjoy to the same degree as my 686 so until then I'll carry a revolver. On that note, does anyone know of a good DA/SA 10mm that isn't the Bren Ten since those cost an arm and a leg?

>DA/SA 10mm
Very limited niche, P220 is the only one I can think so, since its a decent SIG and not nu-SIGU crap.
As for revolvers, I've carried a S&W J-Frame as my first gun 8 years ago, great choices but I'd also give Ruger a chance, I personally love J-Frame sized 3" with .38 +P for carry.

P220, I have a S&W 1006 which I like to look at but barely shoot, there's nothing wrong with it but magazines are 200 dollars each basically and 10mm 1911s are more fun.

What about the brightness? If you just set and forget it seems possible you’d get a dot that’s too dim or blooming too much when the time comes. I’d rather just have night iron sights.
Anonymous No.63877365 [Report]
>>63877333
At "realistic CCW DGU distances" you're shooting off confirmation, not a traditional sight picture, and that's way easier to get in poor light with a dot that's slightly too bright than with tritium night sights. If you're willing to carry a minimalist gun with no dot for the sake of reducing bulk and logistics that's fine, but a dot is objectively better.
