Circumstantial Cannibalism in Military Conflict
Have militaries in the past actually resorted to cannibalism?
To what extent?
I'd assume most of it was more circumstantial than intentional.
Beyond events that are now more than a thousand years in the past that I'm aware of at least.
But how about circumstantial cannibalism?
Have there been other militaries that let things get this bad?

The ziggers were eaten by cats, then Dogs, and even tactical Pigs, now other ziggers, too, eat ziggers.
Ukraine’s intel reports a case of cannibalism among Russian troops. A soldier allegedly killed his comrade and ate his remains over two weeks. The victim was later listed as missing.

Russians are well known to eat their comrades whenever possible.
They did it in WW2, they do it now.

One must never fall for the mistake of considering the Russians to be white, or Western. They are an inherently Asiatic race, the inheritors of the Mongol Horde's violence and cruelty, along with the propensity of invading European civilization.

A lot of cannibalism happened in Stalingrad. The city was besieged and cut off from the outside for a long time and not much food got in. I also believe that cannibalism would happen in any modern conflict where the food supplies are cut off for a long time. There might be a high inhibition to your comrade and then eat them but the same doesnt go for an already fallen soldier whose corpse just lies around.

Its more an individual basis rather than 'military' as a whole resorting to human eating.

Cannibalism has been a common thing among indigenous peoples across the world. Particularly in remote areas and islands. Interestingly Cannibalism has been a thing in africa all through its history and even into today among its people.

Literally that’s the first memory of this place, years ago.
Was some Africans killing and then roasting body parts while eating the stuff. Might’ve been the Congo

Fake.
People starving to death don't go out of their way to skin someone. They just butcher them and eat them.
The original picture was a Soviet skinned by Finns and left up as a warning, which is probably one of the best ways to deal with Russians anyway.
