We upgraded the GBU-57 several times with an eye specifically on these sites, it literally might as well have been listed in inventory as the FordowFucker-69.
It would have been criminal not to drop it and see what happens even if they had unconditionally surrendered while the planes were in the air.

I dreamed of the effective way to take out bunkers last night: huge solar-powered drones that charge up capacitor banks in a Marx generator configuration and then shoot large copper-tungsten wires at bunkers with sounding rockets to induce artificial lightning. They could provide roughly a gigawatt per square kilometer on a sunny day, would be limited to coming in after AA defenses are BTFO, and could loiter around BTFOing bunkers all day until they run out of rockets and wire.

Almost 0.
This is a massive amount of specialized industrial machinery, thousands of tons of mass and tens of thousands of man-hours to set it up. Just disconnecting part of it counts as a massive "mission kill" for several months, as that will be the minimum time required to get it running again.
It would be like packing up and moving an airplane plant -- not really feasible or likely.

From a 2012 CRS report

>Israel: Possible Military Strike Against Iranโ€™s Nuclear Facilities

>However, it may not be necessary to damage a facility directly in order to disrupt its functionality. Centrifuges, for example, require an enormous degree of precision to work, and even a relatively minor shock or other event can destroy a centrifugeโ€™s utility.
>At Fordow, assuming that munitions would not be able to penetrate the mountainous terrain over the facility, the question would be how well the centrifuges have been isolated from shock and the possible blast effects of an attack on the facilityโ€™s entrances. In a Washington Post interview apparently contemplating a hypothetical U.S. strike on Fordow, a U.S. defense analyst was cited as a source for the following statement: โ€œโ€˜There are good outcomes short of destroyingโ€™ the centrifuge hall. Strikes against more accessible targetsโ€”from tunnel entrances and air shafts to power and water systemsโ€”can effectively knock the plant out of action.โ€

Today? They busy saying they'll potentially have that Sumy bufferzone Putin ordered a few months ago completed in 2028 and maybe Kharkiv city by 2030. Also an invasion of the Baltics at around the same time because evil HATO is going to make them do so.

What I'm saying is they're deeply unserious and simply planning out how to produce another million dead vatniks for Kang Monki's banana dreams.

Yes they have proven their ability to launch ballistic missiles that can hit Israel. Though given Israel's extensive and advanced missile defences and the fact that Iran could only make a couple at most the chances of it getting intercepted are high. Other than that there's also a chance they might just load it onto a truck and drive it there.

Someone pointed it out here or in another thread that with Japan and Germany, America heavily invested in rebuilding them, because they needed bulwarks against the Soviet Union and China. Meanwhile any government that gets toppled in the middle easy is just replaced with a corrupt puppet and creates an opposition that's worse than what was replaced. Or in the case of Afghanistan, achieve nothing.

If you're Iran, do you want to gamble on a missile interception or Mossad not knowing exactly what you're doing and just walking up to your nuke, especially since either one involves setting yourself up to be turned into a glass parking lot? I'd be a lot more willing to gamble on the former if I was about to commit suicide by cop as a nationstate with how many leadership roles are now empty because Israel knew exactly where they are.

Japan was pretty much always primed for it anyway, even the earliest European writings about them mention how much more "civilized" etc. they were than other Asians, which really means their customs and culture were a lot closer to European than anybody else in the region. In my experience it still holds true as well, the postwar American influence might be part of that now but I've spent a lot of time around Asians in my life and Japanese people are MUCH easier to relate to than other Asians, their surface culture is obviously different but their core values and motivations are pretty similar to ours and we have much closer senses of humor (as evidenced by Japan being pretty much the only foreign market that likes American comedies) and so on.

Killing a significant portion of the male population and interning a significant portion for a prolonged period of time tends to be a great way at ending insurgencies.
