Considering picking up a USP (.45) as my first gun, but I’m not sure which one I should go with.
>tactical
Threaded barrel, match trigger, higher sights
>expert
Slightly longer barrel, match internals
>Elite
Same as expert but with a 6” barrel.

The ability to add a suppressor seems really nice, but this is just going to be a range toy and the expert/elite are more accurate.

Waiting for my Tactical 9 to get to my door. I hope postal services won't screw me. I never ever touched an USP my whole life, but /k/ made me do it. Now I want a compact already. And an Elite.
>inb4 .45
Far too expensive and unavailable in my euro country. I'm quite happy with 9mil still. I can't wait to handle it godamnit.

If you plan to suppress (which it's .45 so why wouldn't you) get the tactical. For a range toy, it's a barely noticeable difference in accuracy. Having shot an Expert and Standard the only major difference to me was the match trigger which the tactical had anyways.
If you don't care to suppress then sure get the expert but do it in 9mm.
If the tactical has higher 3 dot sights rather than a match thing, I'd say that's a bonus too.

9 is the better flavor of USP overall (round count divisible by 5, slightly smaller frame/slide).
Subsonic 9 is widely available now and no more expensive than regular ammunition is, at least in the U.S.
Get the compact too, I've always liked it even more than the full size.

Wrong.
The MK23 was built for 45.
The USP was built for .40 and 9mm, with a slightly upsized .45 version being produced later on.

USP full size is rated for 45 super and it’s incredibly reliable. It’s also quite large. If this isn’t overbuilt, fucking nothing is.

If you want a compact 9mm, there are like a million options. Hell, the p2000 is right there…

Being rated for .45 Super isn’t that big of a deal, since they just say “expect increased wear and shorter part lifespan”. Which applies to any gun. Any competently made .45 ACP can shoot .45 Super, you ought to increase recoil spring and check if you have chamber support but it’s not a miniature nuke. Many .45 ACP guns have 10mm models based on the same frame.

First pistol? Even a basic USP is going to be waaaay more accurate than you are. No need to go for the Elite which will marginally be the most accurate. It's very hard to get. I think they make less of those than the Mark 23. As someone who does have the USP, Expert, Tactical and Mark 23, all in 45, I'd get the Tactical. It has the accuracy, the match trigger is really nice and the gun is twice as good with the suppressor. You have to get a suppressor for it! Be prepared to drop around two grand for this.

>HK45
Any polymer autoloader in common calibers that performs decently is a fashion accessory. Trying to argue that one is better than the other is shit for nerds and people who think real-life has Tarkov stats.
I wouldn't recommend OP get that because OP is clearly interested in a USP. It's much better to buy something you enjoy shooting, than to be bungled by a goof saying something like "well this is just-as-good if not better !!!" That shit does not matter with these kinds of guns. If he wants the look and feel and the sensation of shooting a USP, with all of it's potential little minmaxxing drawbacks and benefits, he should go for it as long as he will enjoy shooting with it. That's the bottom line.

When I was looking for a USPT in like, 2022, the clerk tried to subtly swindle me into just getting an HK45. And I simply said "this grip is better, but I cannot get over how the USP looks. It's cool." And to answer OP's question, the USPT has bits of cool shit from the higher end USPs while also having the unique suppressor capabilities. Not to mention I've found that suppressor mounts for USPs are almost always in stock, go figure.

Since this is the only gun I own that can really mount a suppressor (Block II M4gery is a default danny pin and weld with the not!A2 muzzle device) I am absolutely spoiled on the subtle benefit of that. Though first and foremost, I need a suppressor for the USP. I was potentially thinking of getting a Huxwrx flow-through. Support local business and all that, and get some kooky tech to boot.
I'm curious how it might affect performance with 9mm subs, though. The USPT has got some beefy springs, and I don't know how much backpressure straight subs generate on it, so I might end up with a Luigi-special during my subsonic gigglefest.

Yes, yes, this is a question for /hg/ or qtddtot... but /hg/ is /hg/, I might get one decent answer if I'm lucky.

I'm not crazy about flow throughs.
I shot right next to a guy with an OSS (pre-huxwrx) and my surefire was noticeably quieter and had a better sounding report, not to mention the better/total flash reduction.
Reduced blowback is nice, but at this point I expect to have to tune buffer or recoil spring weight anyways, so it doesn't really bother me.
TBAC cans have been great for me and have had nearly no POA/POI shift on my USP9 and MK23. Various 147-165 9mm subs have run 100% with the exception of the stelth 165s, they have short cycled a couple times, but they are also the quietest I've tried.
Replace recoil springs early just to be safe.

I mean it's cool and all, but being bigger than the USP while holding 2 less rounds, and not having any real quality improvements over the USP doesn't make it better. Not that it's a bad gun by any means.

Tactical is the correct answer. it is a USP Match with a threaded barrel. the sights and trigger are both adjustable as well as having the barrel O ring. if we're being honest, you aren't a good enough shooter to get the extra accuracy out of a handgun that the 6 inch barrel is going to give you. none of us are.

You don't need to replace the barrel on a LEO trade-in because they only put like 100 rounds a year through their weapons. Never mind the fact that you basically never need to replace polygonally rifled pistol barrels anyway. The recoil spring? Maybe, if it has trouble going into battery.

I have a 9T and a 23, I'd suggest sticking with the USP as a first purchase.
The 23 is fun, but you realize it's a novelty pretty quickly and the size is absolutely cumbersome. Mine comes in at 4lbs. with a fly 45 on it.
The USP just feels like a product improved MK23, which it is, with a better safety/decocker and a more reasonable size.

Supposedly it was around 200k rounds, and that was posted by HK themselves.
It's a little bit believable if you consider that it was probably 9mm, and the gun is verifiably overbuilt for that cartridge. Also, some of the tales of it's "indestructibility" comes from the testing it went through prior to being released. Lodging a squib in the barrel on purpose, and then clearing it with another round is impressive, even more so when it maintained acceptable accuracy afterwards.
The trigger isn't great though, I'll give you that. I'm hopeful that a short reset trigger kit from Grayguns and the match trigger kit internals will improve it some.

I am anon you’re talking to, the match kit + GG SRT + GG flat trigger leads to a great single action pull, truly great. The one I had was comparable to a high end 1911 no joke. I also had LTT’s trigger job on it but I think all they do is polish the trigger bar and hammer, which the match kit replaced the hammer (which is also polished too). The DA pull sucks still, the Match kit makes the reset less positive because it lightens the trigger return spring to make the trigger pull lighter. If I were to install another match kit I would forgo the trigger return spring for a more positive reset. The DA isn’t unusable but with how much the gun costs it’s insulting, seriously it’s like 1k MSRP.

You can get a Langdon Tactical 92 Elite with trigger job for 1k now. (They dropped the price by 200 recently).

I think HK’s twitter person is fucking retarded and probably just regurgitating the same lie about 200k or 300k. IIRC, the origin is from Hk Pro forums where a poster had a phone call with an unnamed HK armorer who had a phone call with Federal sending in a pistol they use for QC testing. Which allegedly went 300k without any service.

I’ve seen a S&W M&P 2.0 from a competition shooter go 100k without any service so maybe it’s true but that had photos of what was the most disgustingly dirty gun I’ve ever seen.

That makes me feel a little better about dropping the cash to get the upgraded parts. I just want to figure out a way to drop the DA pull down some in weight. It's not the worst DA i've ever felt, but it's really subpar compared to my Wilson Combat Beretta with LTT trigger bar, or my P226 with grayguns SRT, trigger, and lighter mainspring. I suppose I could always carry it cocked and locked like a 1911, but I've always prided myself on being able to shoot decently with my DA/SA guns in DA mode.
I'd imagine they must have at least cleaned it at some point during that round count, otherwise it would be heinous to even handle. I don't expect mine to last anywhere near that long, since it's in .45, and I'd rather spend the money on shooting my various 9mm guns more frequently.

FLY-9 right? The short can seems really really neat, almost too good to be true. But extremely interesting.
>Replace the recoils springs early just to be safe
Good point.
>Shot next to a guy with a pre-huxwrx can
Something I hear a lot is that, even though huxwrx did a lot to make flow-through suppressors *actually* suppress the shot, they're still loud at least when it comes to at the muzzle and not so much at the ear. Now ofc, the actual location you're shooting in is going to alter that significantly as the muzzle report is reflected back to your ear. Granted this was with 5.56 cans so you're already trying to tame a rather high velocity round but, I haven't heard enough about how that aspect of FT suppressors works with pistol calibers.

I really suggest going to the gray guns flat trigger, since I believe it has over some travel reduction in its geometry like the match trigger.

I sold the gun to make room for some other stuff but I miss it. Pic related was the last time I shot it, just prints one hole groups at 7 yards (since .45 makes big holes so it’s a little bit easier).

Dropping the DA pull in weight, you’ll have to see what Lazy Wolf does to their guns. But I fear the praises for Lazy Wolf’s HK DA/SA work has some buyer’s remorse mixed into it, since it’s like 400 bucks. The DA with the flat trigger felt better IMO since if you get your finger in the bottom part of the flat trigger in DA you have more leverage

I'll need to consider the flat trigger, but I typically avoid them. I like to sink my trigger finger, and the flat triggers have such a long trigger reach in DA that it's a bit of a pain depending on where it sits.
I was shooting decently at 15 yards with mine the other day, but that was solely in SA, and it reminded me I need to practice with irons only guns more.
And yeah, for 400 bucks I feel like you *have* to like it.

I have a friend who bought the Elite in 45.
He absolutely and THOROUGHLY regrets his purchase.
It looks stupid, it isn't "cool" and its not the gun from his animes.
He also said it must have been "made wrong" because it shoots "off"

At the range i got a chance to shoot it and it definitely felt strange, but i have a 9mm usp so i was used to its unfortunate trigger. I noticed the sights were set way too high so i moved the target all the way back to the maximum 25 yards and shot an amazing group for a handgun in 45.
I explained that its a target gun and the sights are set for a long distance, probably even more than 25, and even if he adusts it more than likely it wont perform well at 7 yards like normal guns cause the blacked out flat panels on the sights. I couldn't even recommend getting normal irons since its cut for the target sights.

this is pretty standard across the board. it's a CYA thing and there's no way to prove what suppressor was or was not used on the gun short of it being melted on

I like mine, they’re cheaper than ever right now and it’s a very accurate, reliable, and very clean gun. The downsides being the heavy barrel is the majority of the gun’s weight, the single stack mags are absolutely ass, but reliable. They just really suck to load. And you need a hex wrench to service the gun annoying but it’s just for the two screws that hold the lower on. God fucking help you if you take the wrong pin out of the trigger group or want to add an FBI bolt release. Surprisingly though, it’s the same trigger group as the UMP, and a lot of the rollpins can be swapped between G3, G36, and UMP too. The SL8-6s that are currently out are basically G36s with single stack mags and funky rear receivers, but it comes with a metal G36c top rail, G36 full size handguard, and mine came with a nice zippered soft case and a few spare mags.

I had a USP Tactical in 9mm. Decent gun, but HUGE for only holding 15 rounds (pre-new mags). It was also a solid 2" between the web of my hand/beavertail and the sights, which bugged me. The recoil spring sounded like an old screen door as well, but that's most HK pistols.

Nta, it's really impressive how you came here, proved that you're a nogunz faggot and likely reddit user who projects constantly, got embarrassed by multiple hasgunz, and will keep coming back here like a lolcow.

You don't own a single HK gun. You are either poor, or too young to be using this website.

All you have accomplished with your fully genuine autistic screeching is prove the opposite of whatever point you're making.
USP owners have gunz, and have good discussions. You scream and cry and at best act as a lolcow. And speaking of the USP, here's something your little fingers will never, ever touch :^)

Langdon Tactical’s HK trigger job is not as good as their Berettas, obviously. But they polish the stock hammer, trigger bar contact surfaces, and hammer strut. They install Gray Guns Short Reset kit as well. Then they smear alot of white lithium grease on every thing. It will be better, they opt not to do the Match components due to cost and the match kit makes the trigger reset less positive. The DA pull is better but not a good DA trigger by my (high) standards, still perfectly usable though, just practice it more. Make sure to practice it from its half/lower cock position since the Hk decocker is only to half cock.

Their optic cut solution is good, it’s well designed in my opinion as the plates are reasonably low and sort of dovetail in, when they install it they don’t put a lot of loctite on it so expect it to come loose in a thousand rounds or so. First thing I do when I get an optic cut gun from them is to replace it with vibratite.

No complaints but I would just get the optics cut from LTT and install the graygun parts myself for the USP. After you convert it to LEM first.
