No, the issue with both patterns comes from the color and the design of the camo itself. It can blend, but not well enough. It has issues when it comes to how it disrupts the figure from afar. MultiCam and OCP works because of the micro patterns and the color scheme not being too light or too dark.

Camo will not save you.

M81 is just OCP for ERDL

Camouflage doesn't matter. Nobody has ever avoided detection or dodged bullets because of the pattern/shade/hue of their uniform. You need a ghillie or a hide site to actually hide yourself, and regular infantry don't need to actually do that.

Camouflage's first and ultimately most important purpose is to identify the wearer's branch/unit to other friendly forces so they don't get mistaken for the enemy. It doesn't even matter what they wear as long as it is distinctive and somewhat matches the landscape.

I mean on one hand that's good, it means the camouflage was so effective that friendlies couldn't gather enough information to identify them one way or the other.

On the other hand perhaps having too effective of a camouflage is a detriment to PID. We kinda solved that with glint tape, because helicopters and airplanes cant tell what camo you're wearing.

Israel is still using olive drab, and Austria used it forever. Seems to work fine for them even though there's nothing solid green in israel. It seems like they chose friendly PID over concealment
