The C7A2 was objectively the best variant of AR. Before you begin coping and seething, I'm not Canadian, I just have eyes to see and a firm grip on reality.

It is and its baffling that other than a few jerry-rigged M16A4's with M4 stocks slapped on them that it never existed at scale in the US Military.
>but dude muh CQB!
fuck off. there's more to combat than just CQB shit.

The US actually has a standardized M4 stock adapter for the M16. Sometimes you'd see it used.

Ironically, the stock sort of fixes any "cqb" issues. It was always bullshit anyway, it was based on garbage US Army general jerk off speculations from the 1990s on how the future of warfare was going to be all motorized peacekeeping missions in low conflict zones where everybody sits in Strykers all day to contain "extremists" who don't believe in "democracy".

I like the C7. It shoots great. Fuck carrying those things for 22k rucks though. I'll gladly take a c8 any day.
Not looking forward to the replacements though. I heard in a tim Hortons of all places that the suppressors are going to be standard issue with the weapon

No it isn't, it's just different and you can't buy one, and because it's difficult to obtain you desire it, and because you desire it you force yourself to believe it's better.

Same as genuine "P80" Glocks, they're actually terrible guns, but if by some miracle one was released by the Austrian army to a museum in the US, and that museum for whatever reason decided to sell it, that pistol would sell for tens of thousands purely because of what it is, not what it does.

In 1989? Sure, it was a very forward-thinking future-proofed package, which is valuable because the CAF has bought basically nothing new ever since. If you mean in 2025, no, you are an embarrassing contrarian moron.

yes, actually. considering rifles are hardly used in modern conflict anymore anyways, in proportion to all the other work being done. They could be using anything it doesn't fucking matter so it may as well look cool.

It was the best in like 1997 for sure. The benefits of the rifle length gas system are somewhat nullified by the carbine buffer system.

They had the right idea putting rails on basically just the fixed front sight base and the bottom of the handguard. Everything US infantry ever needed to put on the M16A4s would have fit on the c7A2 fsb rail.

Only other flaw is they were too ahead of the curve with the flat top upper and ended up going with a proprietary weaver variety that only fits one optic
