The damage Israel sustained is notable but ultimately minor because they have time to rebuild and resupply their interceptors. Israel can handle that. The damage would've been more serious had it gone on for months. But what Israel did do is demonstrate that it can bomb Iran totally unprovoked, kill senior leadership, get U.S. support to bail them out and basically get away with it. Giving Iran nuclear weapons gives them leverage over China whenever China wants concessions from Iran. A nuclear Iran also firmly entrenches its enemies, most of the Middle East, in the American (and Israeli) camp. The best thing for China is actually to let Iran get regime changed, while offering rhetoric in support of Iran's people and sovereignty, and then cut deals for energy and investment with the new Iranian government, similar to Iraq.
