Should I buy one? They're so cheap. Only 300-400 bucks, and I hear they feel very nice in the hand.

The only thing that gives me pause is the fact that the slide doesn't lock back on empty.

Yes, they are genuinely one of the nicest affordable C&R pistols you can get. Everyone who used them during WW2 loved them because of how simple, reliable and comfy they are.

380 is not the cheapest caliber to shoot but it's not super expensive either. Magazines and spare parts are easy to get too because they were used for a very long time after the war.

Nice. I'm gonna get one. Would be cool to find one with the fascist italian roman numeral markings

Apparently the slide does lock back on empty, but you have to put the safety on if you want it to stay that way as you reload: "When the empty magazine is removed it no longer holds the slide back. The slide will come forward and close the gun unless it is held open by application of the safety, a separate operation, and this slows down the reloading of the pistol."

Most of the ones from the recent import batch are not that old. Typically 50s-70s production.

I'd say either that or the New Puma. .38acp is great for pocket carry and getting out of a bad place. Definitely not something to use if you want to stay and have fun.

I've got one of these passed down from my grandfather. Not mine but looks like this. It's my family's one heirloom gun.

I got one, it's 1970's production and was refurbished in Germany. Would have been cool to get a fascist marked gun but its still a neat little piece and I'm a Beretta fan.

Theyโ€™re nice little guns but not 100% reliable the example I shot would fail to extract pretty regularly.

Yeah it's a snappy little gun but I've had that happen too. Actually the biggest thing for me is getting the sweaty hands with the steel frame.

Interesting. My 1935 hasn't had a stoppage yet that wasn't due to ammo.

Itโ€™s not snappy at all, you should probably change your recoil spring.

>>63901188
The extractor was slipping off rounds and leaving them in the chamber, I just think the spring was tired or broken for the extractor, the cases pulled out with minimal pressure.

Definitely go for it. I got mine through Atlantic. They ended up shipping me a 1948 production even tho i didnt pay C&R price which is always nice.

Smooth little shooter too.

Its one thing when a person cant get the new hotness, but it is an absolute tragedy that I can't buy a 60 year old Italian handgun in California.

Go for it, the failing to lock on empty is hardly a deal breaker
