the war was lost before it was started, the playboard was stacked heavily for israel.

the reason for this is simple, sanctions. being a wealthy nation is a security superpower, bribing anyone important takes millions of dollars and bribing large groups at scale without going bankrupt is impossible for all but the world's superpowers. in the meantime any poor country with a mismanaged,sanctioned or hyper inflated economy its impossible do defend from espionage. you can brine hundreds if not thousands of people for pocket change. you can turn high level officers by just offering them a visa/extraction for their family.

iranian gdp per cap is 5300, israel is 57760. this difference hits harder than a nuke in espionage/security.

While militarily they clearly are not on par (very few countries can directly compete with US weapons and ISR), Israel, as the aggressor, had a set list of objectives to accomplish. Three of the most important ones were crippling the Iranian nuclear program, killing the Ayatollah, and effecting regime change (I'm just going based on what Bibi said). They didn't accomplish any of these.

However, You could say that Bibi personally won the war, since he accomplished his actual personal objective of staving off the collapse of his government coalition by distracting people. Whether or not that lasts remains to be seen. Israel suffered fewer military losses but because Israelis are not accustomed to hardship, being forced to flee from ballistic missiles arguably had a much greater psychological effect than it did on the Iranian people. It economic damage was not light either.

That said I think the Iranian missiles did more damage than the Israelis are letting on because of military censorship. Not in terms of casualties but hits to sensitive sites, military installations that are totally hush hush officially and in the press, but word gets around. There's greater psychological impact in Iran, a bit like 9/11, because Israel hit apartment buildings and killed civilians, and the older people are not scared of that because they remember Saddam's missiles, but people are like "they're trying to turn us into Gaza" and that cannot be allowed to ever happen again.

I think the economic damage of Iran's bombardment will be very high far beyond what occurred during the war, considering so much will need to be demolished and rebuilt from blast damage. Thousands left homeless means a lot of structures aren't fit enough to live in.
