Operation Rising Lion
is this the most impressive strike to date?

Attacks:

1,500 air force sorties and 600 aerial refuelings.
1,400 fighter jet attacks and 500 drone attacks.
The furthest attack - in Mashhad at a distance of 2,400 km by a fighter jet.

Assassinations:

11 senior nuclear scientists were assassinated.
More than 30 senior Iranian security officials were assassinated.
Hundreds of Iranian military personnel were assassinated.

Nuclear:

Three nuclear sites were attacked: Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow.
Thousands of centrifuges (used to enrich uranium) were destroyed.
Nuclear research and development centers were destroyed.

Military infrastructure and weapons:

15 enemy aircraft destroyed.

80 surface-to-air launchers (air defense systems) destroyed.

200 missile launchers destroyed (50% of all Iranian launchers destroyed).

35 missile manufacturing plants attacked.

6 airports attacked.

Intercepts:

86% success in intercepting ballistic missiles (hundreds launched)
99% success in intercepting UAVs (thousands launched)

While it has been a successful exchange, I do not believe that the core objective has been achieved:
The centrifuges are 100 m below the ground. This is known because for a time iran allowed international atomics committee (or whatever their name was) to check their facilities, to prove they only use their nuclear technology for civil use. Until trump cancelled the agreement anyways.

Bunker busters have an effective reach of maybe 50 meters below ground. It's given that the entrances are blocked with rubble now and the facility has been subjected to some damage, but it's unlikely that it's "completely and totally!!1!" destroyed as his twitter handle claims.
The other two nuclear facilities were not relevant anymore, but could have become a secondary option until the underground facility is excavated again, so while it was not pointless to hit them, they weren't as relevant as the headline makes them out to be.

And finally: Nuclear scientists and their study rooms are replaceable. You better bet that they have already made complete plans how to build a bomb and saved those plans on absolutely redundant as fuck servers. The only way this can work, is if the educated elite becomes so fucking shit scared of being shot in the head by israeli spies that they refuse to work on nuclear projects ever again.
This however is unlikely, because you'll always find fundamentalists and idiots that'll get into the field due to gentle political pressure.

So was it effective on the short term? Totally.

Did it solve the iran is trying to get nukes situation? Not really. Now they'll set up more counter measures and will have a nuke about a year or two later than they would have initially have had it.

i am always fascinated by claims like this. even if what you say is true about the centrifuges surviving, which i personally doubt, do you think israel will sit by idly as iran makes moves to revive their nuclear enrichment? people who say this have zero understanding of israel, which is surprising because the history is there for everyone to read.

Well I can see that besides being isolated as fuck iran has managed to cobble together quite a lot of capabilities to project power, so they are not as incompetent as they could be, and I keep being surprised by the shit they get away with, and in that sense I am certain they will eventually get a nuke, because it's the holy grail of sticking it to israel.
Everything they've been doing has been aiming towards it, and all the lessons they have learned about saturation of air defense and building ten gorillion shit rockets has prepared them to develop the capability to lobbing a nuke at israel in the not very distant future.

It's not about israel not being able to do anything. It's about the limited effect of limited conflict.
The only way I can see that turn out well for israel is if they bully the mullahs into bending the knee.

>together quite a lot of capabilities to project power, so they are not as incompetent as they could be
nigger, all they did was fire BMs at population centers. they didn't try to cripple the IAFs ability to conduct strikes or anything of that sort,. if you consider that competent then i guess we have two different definitions of the word

>I am certain they will eventually get a nuke,
iran is penetreted at all levels as demonstrated by the recent fire exchanges if that wasn't clear enough already based on past events. the moment they try to build a nuke, they'll alert a bunch of glowies, mossad and non-mossad, and then anyone of slight importance that's involved will probabbly get killed by some bomb planted somewhere as they move around in tehran

Well if that's the case, then surely they'll find the 400 kg of semi enriched uranium soon.
Honestly I want to believe you, but I don't, because iran is playing the long game, and every smack in the face that iran endures while being able to spin this in a way towards the local population that it's all a necessary sacrifice in defeating se jewish devil, will just make them more determined in doubling down even more.

you just don't build facilities of that scale without alerting the multiple glowies in one way or another. it's pretty clear that iran is penetrated at high levels. even if this wasn't the case, construction of such a site gets spotted with satellite images, Fordow for example was spotted well before it began operating during excavations. even if the satimages themselves somehow miss the construction, the movements and communications of certain figures (nuclear scientists, materials engineers, etc) will be a giveaway, because they're certainly being tracked.

Iran has achieved nuclear bombs through plutogenization of DU magnet harvested around. From US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in particular.
They did lots of nuclear tests underground by digging more than 10 km deep. The Chinese Communist Party has done the same.

One Iranian underground nuclear test reached 220 kt and they have weapons of up to 150 kt.

The USSR famously did vote itself out of existence

>On the night of 25 December, at 7:35 p.m. Moscow time, after Gorbachev appeared on television, the Soviet flag was lowered and the Russian tricolor raised in its place at 7:45 pm, symbolically marking the end of the Soviet Union. In his parting words, Gorbachev defended his record on domestic reform and détente, but conceded, "The old system collapsed before a new one had time to start working." On that same day, the President of the United States George H. W. Bush held a brief televised speech officially recognizing the independence of the 11 remaining republics.
>Gorbachev's speech, as well as the replacement of the Soviet flag with the Russian flag, symbolically marked the end of the Soviet Union. However, the final legal step in the Soviet Union's demise came on 26 December, when the Soviet of Nationalities, the upper chamber of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union, ratified the Belavezha Accords, effectively voting the Soviet Union out of existence

not really 80% voted to preserve the USSR, the accord that 'dissolved the ussr' wasnt meant to do that it was just meany to convert it into a confederacy (there's an alternative history somewhere where the Soviet Socialist Confederacy is still around). the dissolution only really happened because of infighting of the leadership.

iran is somewhat similar the leader is selected by a council similar to how communists select the leader of their party. it will probably only destabilize when he dies if there's an internal power struggle (he's 86, might die any second).

i suspect that now mossad is confident iran wont have a nuke for years and can wait, and their next big op is going to go down when khaminei naturally dies.

They're conformal fuel tanks, and while other countries use similar modifications the Israelis designed their own in-house. Israeli F16s also use drop tanks. They basically maxed out the amount of fuel capacity so they could increase range to Iran, Yemen, and other far away areas of interest, and even then they use resupply tankers whenever they can. As for the top column behind the pilot, it's called the "tech spine," used to house additional avionics, electronic warfare gear, and other Jewish space magic. Surprisingly it adds little extra weight and aerial drag.

I don't buy the takes that the Mullahs are that unpopular, they must have substantial support from rural retards out there and it's probably enough to deter urban educated Iranians from doing anything.

I don't support Israel but I acknowledge that they're blatantly just smarter and more competent than all of their enemies in the region.
I still hate Israel for dragging my country (the US) into their bullshit, but c'mon lmao we all know Arab armies (and Persians) can't do shit

Correct. I know a family who escaped during the revolution and this was exactly their take. What the Mullahs are facing though is that the majority of their middle class and educated class does not want to live under shariah law. The bulk of the country's educated people, engineers, skilled workers, etc who did not manage to leave post-revolition never really bought into the islamification, and that's a problem for them that they can't fix in their weakened state.

It really should be noted that Iran's population density average is only 52 per square kilometer with 73% urbanization rate. Most of Iran lives in the western half of the country with ~1 out of every 5 people of its entire population living in the Tehran metro area.

Another one

>he isn't home
>only 17 year old son dies
>nuclear scientist takes the rest of his kids and his wife and hides with some family in northern iran
>stays with extended family in a remote village
>israel bombs the house

I believe the basic problem with structuring a political regime around religious concepts -- and why those engineers don't like it -- is that it serves as a major drag on applying scientific principles to everything else. The Shia fundamentalist stuff can be pretty ruthless and scary though and these guys are not going to fold that easily. They hang people in public there and there's this massive necropolis south of Tehran that's practically a city near Khomeini's mausoleum. Miriam from Alpha Centauri society. There are a lot of religious people in the U.S. but we're talking about people for whom what God wants in politics is serious business and they'll kill over it:

there were no decoys involved
the only reason for the decoy meme is the ballistic missile launchers would not explode when struck half the time. people forget iran uses liquid fueled rockets if they dont explode it means israel got them before they got to the fuel depot

Yeah they're the coolest. I think what makes Israeli planes so interesting historically and up through the modern era is that they are more rigorously used and constantly deployed for combat than any other air force in the world, because without them the country would not survive all the threats it faces. Constant battlefield stress, budget considerations, and the need to adapt to rapidly changing threats has led to some very unique designs and innovations you won't see anywhere else.
