Anyone own a hammerli arms h1? Thinking of getting 1, they are like sub $400. Walther owns them now, .22 caliber 1911.

Why the fuck would you buy this instead of a Tisas and a .22 conversion slide?

You mean Umarex owns them. If you dont mind the slide giving up around 10-15k rounds, then go for it.

That looks like a rebrand of that GSG 1911 that has been floating around like a rancid turd in a swimming pool for years. If so, not a good gun. It's basically an airsoft gun that shoots .22LR

Actually just ran across one at an LGS. It is indeed made by Umarex and is just a GSG 1911 although the frame seems like it is made out of heavier metal so it feels slightly more like a real 1911. Still ass though. Do not buy.

Came here to say it's probably an umarex pot metal gun stamped with the hammerli name they bought. I have one of their ar22s, it's okay for what it is, but so close to an airsoft gun you could relace the receiver with an airsoft one.

Proof?

Literally a single example of an aluminum Umarex slide breaking? Literally ever, at any round count? No, i don't give a fuck about their old zinc products I'm asking you about the gun in OP.

>>63910870
You don't know what pot metal means, and the gun in OP is steel and aluminum not zinc. Why even post a reply when you are this clueless?

I find your conflation of two completely different generations of guns annoying. Old Umarex guns were shit so the new ones are too, it's a retarded take borne of no experience and you make everyone dumber for parroting it.

Do you even have experience with a shitty zinc Umarex like a first gen P22 or M&P .22? Of course you don't. You heard someone else say it and now here you are applying it to a gun of an entirely different design using different materials. You're every bit as bad as the retard who pulled the 10000 round life figure out of his ass.

Yeah that wasn't me, you asked for our opinions on paying around $400 for that gun and we gave them. Maybe $200 if you really want one.

>here you are applying it to a gun of an entirely different design using different materials
as long as it has a fullsize 1911 slide and is a 22lr its a piece of shit
it has to be a certain weight so 22lr can cycle. this requires the slide to be made out of garbage. if it was made of a real metal like steel it would be too heavy. the replica 22 conversions that actually work have halfslides with less reciprocating mass.
best case they replaced zamak with aluminum but thats still shit.

It's funny watching some tard feverishly defend Umarex. Buy one anon and show everyone that it will go 10k. It'll only cost you around 1k to get the handgun and ammo to do so. You'll get some good practice in and get to feel superior

Just buy one, calculate slide density from displacement, and consult alloy tables.

Look, it sounds like you made this thread not to ask a question but in order to say that you either did or are definitely buying this gun and to seek validation for that decision.

There's no need to argue with everyone telling you that it's a bad idea, or a sub-optimal way to spend your money. Like the other anons said, go ahead and buy it if you really want it that badly. Either you will learn for yourself why a proper 22 pistol such as a Ruger MKIV is better or this thing will be just good enough that you'll like it anyway.
You asked your question and got your answer. Take it or double down on stupid. Your choice.

just cause it didnt instantly snap in half doesnt make it a good gun.
the 22lr 1911s cant make it to 500 rounds without turning into jammatics around 300+ before needing cleaning and usually require highvelocity ammo.
meanwhile a mk will easily make it 500 maybe 800ish before getting too dirty to cycle and not be picky about ammo.

The best thing about those .22 1911s is that you can get a conversion slide or a parts kit for one around $100 and use a bb gun as an 80% to make your own even in non permissive areas for under $200

I'm going to assume you are a spastic zoom zoom and does not recall the whole Walter p22s that umarex did. And the extremely well documented slide cracking issues...
