Do your civic duty and call Thune. Be respectful but let them know that their careers are done if they don’t get this passed. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Ignore the white noise from shills. Call.
Inb4 Bloomberg’s jeet squad telling everyone that calling them does nothing and (insert whatever relevant politician) will cuck out of whatever
>>63906664Good work. I have a timer set to call them 3 times a day through the weekend.
Best case scenario: they rewrite SHORT and HPA to coomply with the cunt's "suggestions" and merely reduce the stamp fee to like $5
>>63906687that's the mid case scenario fag, best case is they just ignore her.
I am calling tomorrow multiple numbers just to prove scared shills wrong
>>63906687That’s a gay scenario. The tax and registration need to be gone. They have a silver platter opportunity and if they squander this they will lose the midterms. These spineless cowards have the house, senate, presidency, and the Supreme Court. There’s zero reason this shouldn’t be a layup.
>>63906701You'll get absolutely nothing and continue to seethe about it.
>>63906687Can we ban doomers please?
>>63906708Thanks for bumping my thread. Don’t forget to call Thune. His secretary is pretty pissed.
>>63906687SHORT Act is pointless unless SBRs are removed completely. Everyone will just keep using pistol braces as the workaround rather than coomplying even if the tax is reduced to $0.
>>63906692No one is going to break 50 years of Senate precedent for a niche within a niche issue like suppressors and short barreled guns.
>>63906740And that is why nothing ever gets done beyond corporate tax cuts and missiles for Israel.
I've called four times today. I hope we'll get something out of this.
>>63906850Based. Good work anon.
i just want to say fuck californians
>>63906664God that fucking hippo is so fucking adorable
>>63906867NTA I had to deal with my local walmart (yes I know crucify my retardation) for breaking a lugnut cover off my wheel and then rounding and compressing the fucking lugnut onto the bolt and then blaming me because it was on too tight. So I'll just call tomorrow if I don't kill myself tonight.
>>63906885i don't care about your bitch ass problems
>>63906714Some people like to notify the ATF any time they move between states. Others just put a stock on a pistol. Who actually checks that shit anyway?
>>63906750Don’t forget selling public land where we in the west like to shoot. Imagine being a chud who has no choice but to pay to shoot shoulder to shoulder next to 11” ARs with brakes on the tip
Left a message too.
Even told him that he's got a mandate
UPDATE
https://x.com/NatlGunRights/status/1938816699001868542
New language has been drafted that removes the $200 registration and transfer fee for suppressors, AOWs, SBRs, and SBSs, but the registration itself remains
>>63906984Oh for God's sake I shouldn't have to be put on a goddamn list or tell mommy ATF that I'm taking my fucking SP5 with an A3 stock and my suppressors to another state.
>>63906984I'm not gonna lie, I have a bad feeling about this. It's good that the retarded fees are gone but keeping the registration opens the door for non-NFA items being added in since the fees are no longer needed.
>>63906872>>63906946And boomers and rinos.
If the law is a tax and it will no longer have a tax to collects. Why would the registration still happen? Isn't the registration just the enforcement of tax collection?
>>63907102It is but government never makes any sense. They said yesterday the NFA suddenly isn't a tax despite the fact that before that it was ruled as a tax, going back to its inception in 1934.
>>63906984It’s working bros. Keep calling. Ignore white noise from shills.
>>63906984Don't care, still won't comply.
>>63907117Thanks for the bump, friend. Don’t forget to call Thune’s office.
>>63906992Yeah, keeping the registration but making the fee be $0 seems… ominous. Don’t get me wrong, glad I don’t have to pay extra moners, but I get the feeling that lowering the tax opens the door to RAISING the tax in the future as well.
>>63907155The Dems have been complaining for years that the $200 has never been adjusted for inflation and one bitch in the House said it should raised to $600 so you're right to be concerned.

>>63906984Better than nothing, but still really gay and stupid. The rush to buy silencers will break e-file and drive wait times back up again. No one cares about SBRs unless we get the full SHORT Act, because it’s a no-brainer to keep using a pistol brace rather than registering your shit and notifying the BATFags every time you want to cross state lines. The registration requirements make everything a huge pain in the ass, and it makes no sense to keep them when the tax isn’t even being collected anymore. It’s like if you had to keep filing your income taxes every year even if you’re paying nothing and getting back nothing.
>>63907159Exactly. The entire point of the tax in the first place so that the government could say they weren’t outright banning these guns, but ofc with $200 in 1934 being the modern equivalent of $5,000 then the guns we’re priced out of range of civilian ownership.
The only decent thing about the NFA is that the tax was never raised with inflation and I am 100% positive that simply lowering the tax opens the Pandora’s box of the tax being open to adjustment.
>>63907168>>63907169I'm really worried that this is going to cost us the 2026 midterms. I've already heard people say they're not going to vote or just vote Democrat just to spite Republicans because of this new language.
>>63907195Talking to yourself again?
>>63907196No he’s talking to ME, not YOU
>>63906984This way the registration will simply be illegal and pointless, so it will be challenged eventually and removed entirely after this.
>>63907195I’ve never voted in my life but now I might campaign against them out of spite
>>63907199>it will be challenged eventuallyIt will not, SCOTUS avoids 2A cases like the plague.
>>63907199If the tax was abolished, then I can see an easy argument that registration is a violation of gun rights.
The problem is; the tax isn’t being abolished, it’s just being adjusted to $0. Sure, the immediate result is the same: that you won’t have to pay any extra money to buy a silencer, but legally there’s a distinction. The tax still exists, it’s just $0. Legalese hinges in these subtle distinctions. If you can’t recognize it, you’ll never be good at pilpul.
>>63907218That won't hold up in court lol
>>63907221You’d be surprised what holds up in court.
SBR NFA status being maintained hinged on the fact that in a 1939 case, it was ruled that sawed off/short barrel shotguns are overly dangerous therefore not protected under the 2A. Later on the courts determined that since precedent says short barrel shotguns aren’t protected under the 2A, then short barrel rifles aren’t protected either because in the eyes of the court they are the same. There was a more recent SBR case where the court even acknowledged that a distinction between SBRs and SBSs could be made, but because the defendant did not try to make such an argument the court upheld that SBRs are the same as SBSs. American courts are all bullshit.
>>63906740They fired a Parliamentarian in 2002 they can do it again
>>63907195At the very least we should campaign against the BBB since the understanding was that the Republicans would get to spend all this money so long as they threw a bone to their actual base by giving the gun lobby something for the first time since the 80’s to make up for the “Safer Communities Act” that happened under Biden. If we don’t get the full HPA and SHORT Acts then this bill should be DOA.
>>63907284Yeah, it should. Senators and Representatives are pissed at it being gutted so it doesn't have a good chance of passing. Don't forget that the House version only passed by one vote.
>>63906611 (OP)I actually called them to vote no on the HPA and SHORT act because I live in an anti-gun state and if Suppressors and SBRs/SBSs get removed from the NFA then my state is going to ban them outright. So I actually have a lot to lose if they get deregulated and I'd rather them stay on the NFA.
>>63907378Shut the fuck up demoralization nigger
>>63907382Nope, sorry, I'm not going to get fucked over by free staters, you guys deserve to lose once in a while for our benefit.
>>63907108No, they didn’t.
What they actually said is that the effects on the budget is completely incidental to the effects on policy that the change would have.
But it’s true.
>>63906687I means that would be gay but still better than nothing
>>63907169Don’t be a faggot. That always could’ve been done. Get your rights back instead of being a cuck
>>63907716How am I being a cuck?
I want the HPA and SHORT to pass, all I’m doing is saying altering the tax opens the venue for it to be altered again when democrats have a majority and we all just KNOW they’d raise it to some egregious amount. The HPA and SHORT needs to be all or fuck off.
Keep calling for Queen Elizabeth MacDonough—the unelected Senate Parliamentarian—to be fired or overruled.

Good morning bros. OP here. Don’t stop calling through the weekend.
>>63906710lol kid I'm old enough to remember back in 2017 when the SHUSH and Hearing Protection Act could have been speed ran through Congress along with National Reciprocity. Instead, the (((GOP))) let them all die in committee
>>63907662It would be a pleasant surprise if
>>63906984 this last ditch compromise makes it to the President's desk. Launcher and smoke grenade bros remain fucked however
>>63906611 (OP)I called Thune’s office, then I called both my senators and told them to tell Thune to include HPA and short or else I’m staying home at midterms. One of my senators is getting primaried so I went with that angle for him.
>>63906984Better than nothing and opens the door to litigation. There's a good argument that $0.00 tax with a 10 year prison sentence for noncompliance is unconstitutionally punitive just like the Obama are individual mandate fee.
>>63907388Huh, there really is a fetish for everything these days, including sucking on boot leather.
>>63907248The legal test changed since then. The restrictions dont hold up well under Bruen, even mangled by Rahimi.
>>63908724In a way it’s better in the long term because you can’t fight a $0 tax and no registry in court because there’s nothing to fight. It sucks in the short term, but in the long term, removing the registry component vis reconciliation doesn’t protect us from it being added right back via reconciliation.
>>63906674that's literally every politician?
>>63907388What a cuck pussy. I hope your shitty state bans your NFA items, then raid and kill you due to you having them. You are a disgusting POS and deserve to be stripped of any rights.
Don’t get drunk and complacent over the weekend brehs. Call periodically throughout the day.
>>63906611 (OP)No HPA and SHORT = no vote in the midterms
Simple as
>>63906687Best case is a Vance override or removal or Thune wakes the fuck up and terminates her (unlike the VP the Majority leader can't override her without firing her). The GOP can also vote to ignore her but it opens all of this up to filibuster.
>>63906714SBR/SBS is the MOST egregious thing - regardless of braces existing they've been in military use for decades and it was the first NFA provision to be challenged - the SCOTUS in the 30's arguing lol that SBS arent military weapons suitable to the militia. Merely 30 years later and the Military widely used SBR/SBS in Nam
>>63906984If this happens - best case is courts overrule the registration and we get what we want......5 years later.
Worst case - Dems manage to jack up the NFA fees in the distant future - they've tried before and failed but anything they do related to gun control is extremely unpopular and has repeatedly lost them elections case in point 1994
>>63907195If republican are pussy enough to respect the protocol and the opinion of a clearly partisan Democrat appointed bureaucrat when the Dem's clearly dont and are absolutely A OK with bending the law as they see fit and flooding the country with immigrants then yeah.
This partisan Parliamentarian didnt touch the AI regulation which has nothing to do with budgets or taxation, yet disqualified the NFA changes (TAX), the Medicare Changes (BUDGET) which get illegals off medicare and adds a regulatory instrument to medicare to prevent abuses.
The only good thing she did was stop Mike Lee's land sell off - which was a poison pill to begin with.
They have no reason to be struggling for the mid terms - the dems have been flailing and listless.
The BBB also has a number of poison pills in it aside from the federal land sell off - the SALT changes for example - the shit matters unfortunately to the Blue state republicans - their areas are innundated with taxes.
I personally dont want to make life easier for republican blue state holdouts like Long Island because the quality of Republican coming out of there is low, but it's def their pet peeve issue
>>63909381>oh no they may increase muh nfa fees! Not you but why are so many faggots on here worrying about this? There’s literally nothing stopping anyone in Congress from “jacking” nfa fees (or eliminating it entirely). These niggers have been glazing a renewed no sunset awb. You think they don’t know this is a thing they can possibly do? Push the momentum and win your rights back and absolutely flay enemies and “allies” who stand in the way in the voting booth.
>>63909422Honestly you are right they probably won't be able to - they've tried TWICE in the past and were unable to jack up the NFA fees. Alot of dudes here are worried about a future dem supermajority (lol) when the reality is they are wholly unprepared for the 2026 mid terms
Dem gun control strategy is to go state by state government, because Federal laws get them removed from office a la 1994
>>63906611 (OP)Someone explain to a retard who doesn't really know how U.S. politics works what the fuck Byrd is and why it has destroyed chances of the HPA and SHORT, thanks.
Is this just another way of saying the Senate voted against it?
>>63909408the parlimemtarian serves at both party leaderships' convenience dumb fuck. If she's there it is because both sides want her there.
>>63909450The Byrd Rule makes it so you can pass legislation with only 50 votes + vice president in the senate instead of the required 60, but the legislation has to be related to monetary policy, like taxes, ONLY
The person who decides what complies is the Parliamentarian
Of course it's strange that the parliamentarian (appointed by a democrat that supported an assault weapons ban) struck the HPA and the SHORT act out of the BBB, considering the NFA is a tax law first, so either the NFA is a tax and can be removed through reconciliation or it's a restriction on the 2nd amendment, which is unlawful
>>63909450Because the country is run by unelected bureaucrats and people calling you unhinged for criticizing the deep state are either incredibly ignorant or owned by the same vile apparatus
>>63907199>>63907205>It will not, SCOTUS avoids 2A cases like the plague. They need to make room on the docket for all the GAY cases, like GAY wedding cakes, and GAY books in the classroom, and GAY insurance requirements for religious groups. Aren't you glad that they take all these GAY cases that virtually no asked for and have almost no effect outside of their extremely narrow contexts?
Why would you want 2A cases when you can fixate on all these various GAY ways that GAYS do GAY and non-GAY things in certain non-GAY contexts? Stupid sexy GAY homos, why won't Roberts let me fill the entire docket with GAY cases, fill it like a tight GAY twink's boi pussy?

No one cared about the $200 fee and I'd it can't be done now with all of the conditions being about ideal as they can be Republicans will never be able too. I'm so confident on this I promise you $100 the NFA will continue to exist for another 50 years. >>63911932so go shoot your state senators then
I certainly understand the frustration surrounding the 2A provisions.
I’ve been fighting for MONTHS to secure the elimination of both NFA taxation AND registration for suppressors, SBRs, SBSs, and AOWs.
I successfully added this measure for suppressors in the House-passed budget reconciliation bill, and I’ve worked with Senate Republicans to not only keep this provision but to also expand it to cover short-barreled firearms.
All of it was written into the Senate’s first version. But the unelected Senate parliamentarian struck it down, erroneously claiming it violated the Byrd Rule.
I vehemently disagree with her.
In fact, many of her rulings prove she’s a partisan hack incapable of making non-partisan decisions. To be clear, I believe the Senate parliamentarian deserves to be FIRED immediately.
But apparently the Senate is not going to fire her or overrule her decision at this time.
>>63911963Therefore, we have to use the opportunity to rewrite the 2A provision in an attempt to get as much past the Senate parliamentarian as possible.
The latest version eliminates all the NFA taxation on suppressors and short-barreled firearms.
Of course I also want the NFA registration eliminated, as it is inseparably linked to the tax. That’s why I’ve fought tirelessly for months. Yet we can’t pass up an opportunity to end the 91-year-old unconstitutional taxation under the draconian NFA.
This rewrite is another shot at this provision. It’s not perfect, but it’s far better than getting zero 2A victories.
I strongly believe eliminating the tax provides a highly credible basis to challenge the NFA registration in court—because with the taxation repeal, there is no longer a foundation for the registration. The registration database is the method used by the government to account for the tax paid on each firearm by the serial number of the firearm. That’s why they are inseparably linked. No tax, no foundation for a registration database.
We are not giving up, oh no!! We have just begun to fight and win. Let’s use this rare opportunity to eliminate the tax and restore another part of our Second Amendment rights.
>>63911963Dems were able to get trannys in schools and the military. Changed all matter of industries to include made up pronouns in all their paperwork and systems. >>63913650There’s basically no reason to do it when pistol braces exist. You’ll still have to do the engraving bullshit and notify the ATF whenever you want to cross state lines with one or else it’s a 10-year federal felony for not paying a literal $0 tax.
I would honestly keep paying $200 tax for suppressors/SBR/SBS/AOW - paid anonomusly, to your dealer, and put in an escrow to the treasury.... As long as its same day 4473.
The registration bullshit we have now is egregious - my first can took a YEAR to be approved before the ATF got its PP slapped in court, the last one I did after that took 24 hours.
And yet I dont care shit fucking sucks, esp. the inform the ATF requirement for crossing state borders
>>63913650You HAVE to tell big daddy government when you cross state lines/move out of state.
It's faggotry of the highest order
>>63913957You don't have to inform the ATF for supressors
>>63910486>T. Class-cucked subhuman.

BIG
Trump has called for her to be fired.
You need to call your 2 Senators and Leader Thune.
>>63912261What do you want us to do dipshit? Think we should start canoeing them instead? That'll work great. Instead of trying everything in our toolbox lets go straight to the sledgehammer, consequences be damned. Fan-fucking-tastic.
We're harassing and cyberbullying the hell out them. Next step is primarying them all in favor of actually pro-2A candidates. After that it's just flat not showing up to the polls for the ones we can't get rid of when the midterms and other future elections hit. Violence is a last resort because the consequences are massive and regardless of outcome things can never return to what they were before. Trying the peaceful route first is doing your due diligence.
>>63914357Fucking finally. Now maybe it'll actually get done... maybe... possibly.
GIVE ME MY 4" NUGGET YOU FUCKS.
>>63914357This better restore the SHORT and HPA in their entirety.
>>63914357This is good because the parliamentarian gutted things like banning SS for illegal immigrants and funding for tranny surgeries on kids in addition to the NFA stuff. She overstepped her bounds, and the current bill should be DOA at the House. Congress should revote on the original bill with the SHORT Act added and force the Senate to get it right.
>>63914357You damn well know he's not talking about the NFA stuff.
>>63913750he's a /pol/troon that smelled blood in the water
So what the qrd onnthe hpa and short?
Are they dead ded?
>>63913830Holy shit Ramesh I don’t know who paid you to post this but they deserve a refund
>>63915144They're currently in there in a watered-down form, the tax is gone but the registration remains. Trump just posted to fix it so we're hoping we'll get the full thing back. However now a shooting in Idaho "coincidentally" happened a few minutes ago so that'll likely kill it.
>>63915179>point out how sus that was>shill activates and replies to me within seconds >thread 404s a few minutes later

>>63913067Fuck that faggot shit. Playing nice like faggots got us into the mess we’re in now. If Trump and Congress had balls they would have the DNC labeled a terrorist organization. Their assets should be seized and returned to the government, their statues smashed, and DNC politicians should be given the chance to renounce their party ties or face incarceration for terrorism. Confederacy 2.0. Put them in the loser pile.
>>63915324Literally what they tried to do to us after Jan 6. And they'll try it again the moment they get power.
>>63915179idk that shooting didnt have anything to do with any nfa items so i doubt it will factor
>>63915179>>63915254Its so fucking tiresome anons.
>>63912641Asking the real questions here. But nobody knows yet.
>>63913557>pretty sure the tax stamp for SBRs was also nixxed, for what little that's worth. You are pretty wrong as it clearly only states silencers in the bill
>>63913678>Even though anyone who isn’t a retard knew it wouldn’t pass?Shut the fuck up the only reason it didnt pass is because the GOP knows retards will still vote them in office even though they get nothing we want done.
I just woke up, give me the updates.
>>63915470It’s almost like when retards vote for democrats that promise to pay their student loans for them and they never get paid.
BREAKING
$0 NFA tax stamps for suppressors & short-barreled firearms (SBRs, SBSs, & AOWs) clears the "Byrd Bath" with the Parliamentarian.
But, gun owners should not give up on a full NFA tax strike. @LeaderJohnThune & @JDVance must fire/overrule the Parliamentarian!
>>63917411what does that mean im dumb
also make a new thread guys
>>63917461You have to register them but it's a $0 "tax"
>>63917565that's bullshit, no way that'll hold up in court
>>63917411>clears the "Byrd Bath"But will it or the BBB survive in the House?
>>63917610The dems are desperate to keep the registration because it's all they really care about at this point, the ability to round up gun owners.
>>63917648They're never gonna do that either so I really don't know why they're being so bitchy about it, like bro let it go lol.
>>63917648Its more to just make things more annoying for the people they think dont vote for them. They dont give a fuck about you owning suppressors, they just want you to suffer.
>>63917664The feeling is mutual.
>>63917610If it passes with a $0 tax, then we just have to wait until it goes to court.
Either with someone getting an SBR charge and it going to criminal court or someone suing the government about keeping a registry of gun owners.
can they still completely remove them from the list?
>>63917723Thats what Im hoping for. This is such a soft ball victory that we can turn into a home run if we play it right.
>>63917731Only if the Parliamentarian gets fired, but that would require Republicans to have some balls for once. Other are saying that if the tax gets brough down to $0 it opens up the NFA to get challenged in court, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that either. SCOTUS is allergic to 2a cases.
