Automation and you actually only need 1 pilot. The co-pilot is so the pilots can sleep in shifts.

bone can maneuver, spirits cannot.
spirit's autopilot follows the pre-set waypoints while the "pilots" can do wso things.

that's retarded and outright banned for international civilian flights. pilot gets incapacitated and there's no co-pilot to save the plane.

>In August 2019, the Air Force unveiled a modification to the B-1B to allow it to carry more weapons internally and externally. Using the moveable forward bulkhead, space in the intermediate bay was increased from 180 to 269 in (457 to 683 cm). Expanding the internal bay to make use of the Common Strategic Rotary Launcher (CSRL), as well as utilizing six of the eight external hardpoints that had been previously out of use to keep in line with the New START Treaty, would increase the B-1B's weapon load from 24 to 40. The configuration also enables it to carry heavier weapons in the 5,000 lb (2,300 kg) range, such as hypersonic missiles; the AGM-183 ARRW is planned for integration onto the bomber. In the future the HAWC could be used by the bomber which, combining both internal and external weapon carriage, could conceivably bring the total number of hypersonic weapons to 31.

Wait until he hears of single pilot planes.

A simple autopilot and a dead man's switch if the only wake pilot doesn't do anything for X minute an alarm blares for the sleeping guy is plenty.

Military planes don't care for 300 passengers, it's completely retarded to let a third guy die in any usual loss for the one in a million off chance he'd save the plane. For any high stress scenario it's still a 2 crew plane.

The Russians sometimes let single seat pilots sleep in the cockpit during long hauls. It's why their planes all have crazy high autopilot override stick force.

The ARRW has been back and forth with funding, canceled twice already but as of this month funding is back

>Military planes don't care for 300 passengers

Would make sense for a plane that isn't worth billions of dollars each. At that point VSL favors the bomber not the the 300 civilians. It should be even more important to preserve.

Most of the world recognizes that in-flight naps are based and safety-pilled. Even the FAA acknowledges it, although they still don't allow it.

B1, B2 pilots never sleep on missions, even if they are 30+ hours. They use dextroamphetamine and provigil.

A "Super-Duper Missile" was announced by US President Donald Trump during a press availability in the Oval Office on May 15, 2020.[15][16] According to Trump, the weapon is 17 times faster than existing missiles in the United States arsenal; however, Kingston Reif of the Arms Control Association believes the claim may have been a misstatement.[17][18][19] PBS news correspondent Nick Schifrin has theorized that the "Super-Duper Missile" is the AGM-183A, as has the China Times.[20][21]

Which is bullshit. I should be able to go for a ride in a B-2 while the captain pats me on the head and calls me a good little co-pilot.
