Maybe there is some sort of psychological advantage to being able to contribute to the impression of fire superiority, but for actual effective hits on target per unit time....

All carbines ranging from 11.5" to 16" (290mm to 406mm) are to be zeroed at 25 yards, regardless of optic. That is unless you are zeroing an SPR/DMR build, then I would recommend a 100 yard zero, since it is easier to estimate out to 300+ yards.

Once you are zeroed at 25 yards, consult the graph and learn it by heart to estimate your hold on target based on the range.

upper is slightly longer than milspec, same with the lower to accommodate the longer OAL of AK mags (other companies like PSA, RRA, CMMG etc shorten the length of the trigger pocket to allow milspec uppers to run, albeit with feed lip supports milled into the bottom). no idea about bolt life, dont think they ever fired them enough for it to matter. CQBR bolts were only lasting 3k rounds anyway so even if they were run hard it would have been acceptable

i dont think anyone's ever taken it apart and shown the internals. my guess is that it uses a spring loaded catch so the mag can rock straight in, and then the button pushes that catch sideways and there's probably a notch in it to allow the mag to fall free. that's how i would do it anyway. a paddle release is probably easier and less prone to problems though, also takes up less room in the lower

Put the scope in the rings to where you can still move it around, get your eye relief correct, and clamp upper in a vise and zero an angle indicator on the rail. Remove the top turret cap and place the indicator on it and rotate the scope until it's zero, then finish tightening the rings.
