It occurred to me out of nowhere, the Indians are license producing AK-12s. After modifications done to make the M1, are they making OG AK-12s or one of the newer editions?

Is that because you made it up?
All I could turn up was India going with the AK-203 over the AK-12, and some "domestically produced" AK-12s in Pakistan.

Even if they are, going on how shit the Insas was, I wouldn't put to much thought into it.

Well okay, it was the 203s. I got that wrong. https://rostec.ru/en/media/news/ak-203-production-kicks-off-in-india/

But it's just a 7.62 version so I called it the same thing like how people still call 5.45 AR-15s the same even though they ought to name it different.

>Even if they are, going on how shit the Insas was, I wouldn't put to much thought into it.
Yeah, I bet anything would be a huge improvement. Man, that's a fuckton of corruption over there and that rifle is proof people would rather domestic produce an inefficient design with tons of money-sink shit than just buy outside. Those Indian troops must've been relieved to get anything else.

>mfw currently wondering if factory heads at the production plant will cheap out too
A Chinese gumsmith told me that Chinese AKs have drastically different quality. Domestic use Type 56s, back when they were their service rifle, can get their factory heads executed if caught cheaping out too hard. Exports to 3rd world nations they fully permit to cheap out hard in the name of profit margines. Some western export models are higher quality just because they have to be competitive. From what I can tell, India doesn't have the same level of "We use it, you die if it's too crappy".

Yeah he keeps saying I can just get a fishing license and that would work as an ID. I don't think that is right, so I am probably going to have to just suck it up an get a new drivers license. I am annoyed because I just renewed mine a few months ago. Plus certain counties in my state do E-checks on cars and the one I would need to change it do does them and I know my car would not pass with the stuff I have done to it. I just know I am never going back to this guy again, like both addresses are in the state, so I fail to see what the big issue is.

My current address. Drivers license is where I used to live (one of my parents). I don't want to update it since the current county in my state does E-check emissions crap and I know my car wouldn't pass with the aftermarket stuff I have done on it. So it would not only be $26.50 for an updated license, it would be however much to get a stock exhaust, return the computer to factory, plus having to drive all the way back to where my Dad lives (old address) to use his lift to put said exhaust on which is most of the way across the state.

I've had some luck with snug fitting bits and a hand driver on old stuck parts but you have to maintain a huge amount of downwards pressure to really ensure no slip-out IMO. Turning a bit clockwise (tightening) doesn't hurt to try either as often a nudge in that direction (1-5 degrees) is hard but possible where counterclockwise (loosening) is nearly fucking impossible. Sometimes tightening a little helps you break it free to make it possible to loosen. I know, didn't make sense to me at first either. Be careful not to break the glass with impacts from an impact driver, though. Also, make sure that you don't have to just remove a single screw to replace the tritium, lol. The British SUIT sights are like that IIRC. Just a threaded disc with a flathead slot capping the hole the tritium vial goes into.

You don’t understand, this temporary blockage isn’t going to last long. It’s only happening because some Serbian officials sold arms to Ukraine. The government is going to clamp down on exports for a bit to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

There is no reason for the Serbian government to reject export permits to the US civilian market. It makes Zastava (and by extension the government) a good amount of money and keeps the factory open. Plus if war with Iran pops off, the CIA will flood Azeribajin-based rebels with weapons from Cugir, FB Rdaom and Arsenal BG. While Zastava will be free to sell to guns to us.

Russia is allies with Serbia. Serbian officials sold Serbian guns to arms dealers who sold them to Ukraine, these were then used against Russia. This makes Russia mad, so they tell the Serbs to knock it off.

From the Russian perspective, Serbian/Zastava selling guns to us Americans is great. It helps the economy and military industry of their ally Serbria, their attention is turned away from Eurasia, and once the guns are here it becomes neigh impossible for them to end up in conflict zones across the pond.

They probably just painted over the screws with that hammered paint finish for ease of manufacture. Waterproofing and making it tamper evident in case someone decides they really gotta open their sight when they shouldn't are just bonuses. I believe Mark Novak has a video on youtube (early Q&A?) where he goes over some basics including flathead screws, cleaning of slots prior to attempting to unscrew a screw, proper fitment of a bit or driver to a screw, use of hollow ground bits only, using a polished ballpeen hammer to raised damage to screw slots (from screwdrivers slipping), and even slot repair with a hacksaw or proper file.

Price of 7.62x39 is a big one but there's good reason no 5.56 AK has risen. In the West, there aren't some mega-ultra renown American AK producers and wide proliferation of reasonably priced (and good quality) ARs make nearly anything else very niche. As an entry-level thing, an AR is cheaper. Not unless you want some old surplus from another country which doesn't shoot 55.6.

There was recent increase in the later 10s IRCC. And further back remember the cheap $89 SKS rifles? Those were on every firing line at shooting ranges during the late 80s and early 90s. Now I hardly ever see an SKS at the range. If there's any way for AKs to become big in the West, it would be a massive influx in cheap ammo, or some magic ability to produce decent quality AKs that compete with budget ARs in price. I doubt we'd see either.

Battle rifles are full-powered select-fire rifles filling the same roles as intermediate-power select-fire rifles.
DMRs are rifles designed to be used by marksmen in groups to use at longer range than the rest of the group and are accessorized to match. They're not a snipers rifle in that they're semi- or select-fire and intended to work with their group more closely if needed.

I said fuck it and ordered an M92 last night. Best deal I could find was pic rel with the shitty black painted handguards. Is the thread protector still welded on? Does it have a detent pin installed or do I need to order one? Plan on refinishing the wood, putting a booster on it and SBRing into an underfolder.

I've been mulling it over for weeks, only bought last night because of the tarriff threat. Rather get it now for $900 than wait and get fucked. Description says fuck all about a welded thread protector or a detent pin and everything on jewtube is old century trash so I'm asking here, nigger
