NATO forces would be better equipped. I am confident that NATO forces plus Patriots plus artillery, would be enough to bog down any Russian invasion.
My long-term fear is that the Russians do something like occupy a small segment, then say "it's not worth to risk nuclear war over this minor issue, let's make peace." and NATO actually gives in. That would make Article 5 worthless without even firing a shot.
