Baltic lobby is strong enough for occasional asskissing sessions (even under the current admin) and occasional help with missile purchases, but nothing more.

There's no point. Keep in mind that these are extremely small countries with limited budgets. If they bought fighters it would directly take away from their IFV's, tanks, fortifications etc. It's better to specialize and besides the nordic countries next to them alone have hundreds of modern fighters either in service or on order.

Every word out of a vatnik's mouth is projection.

They developed in spite of the Soviets, not because of them. Proofs of this is once the USSR fell apart they were behind western Europe and are furiously catching up without Russians hobbling them.

by 'develop' you mean it took them 50 years after they invaded to return them to a 1920 standard of living
and all it cost was the execution/deportation to gulag of everyone with any kind of higher education

well, it is understandable why the average Russian thinks this is a wonderful deal

Päts did what he had to do because surprise war had already started and poland was already occupied by both and using submarine Orzel as an excuse demanded "mutual assistance pact" or else. Seeing how west didn't a fuck about polish getting killed, he accepted this "pact" to preserve people. But I wouldn't say without a single shot because hundreds of thousands of russians died under the Narva and Tannenberg lines. But i'm sure they don't talk about that in your schools.
As for balts that left: yes loads of people left but so did russians which is why general population number tanks suddenly after 91 but still not enough russians left sadly.

>allies bring the jets, they bring the suicidally brave ground soldiers to buy time for their allies to figure out what sort of cookies to have at the meeting to discuss if they will get help.

We've seen what happens when Russia invades a segment of Ukraine, and while it's tough work and they take casualties, it's not a suicide mission. NATO forces would be better equipped. I am confident that NATO forces plus Patriots plus artillery, would be enough to bog down any Russian invasion.

My long-term fear is that the Russians do something like occupy a small segment, then say "it's not worth to risk nuclear war over this minor issue, let's make peace." and NATO actually gives in. That would make Article 5 worthless without even firing a shot.

No point in having fighter jets when it would make way more sense to use Sweden as an air base

>When the three Baltic States joined NATO in 2004, a NATO Air Policing capability was established at Šiauliai Air Base, Lithuania. In 2014, after Russia’s illegal and illegitimate annexation of Crimea, a second Air Policing presence was established at Ämari Air Base, Estonia under NATO’s Assurance Measures to its Eastern Allies.

Air defense, reinforced bunkers, VTOL? They are basically invisible anyway, if you can get all into the air before the missiles land you basically win the war because S-400 can't do shit about it. Have half of them blow Su-35s and missile launchers into a million pieces while the other half return to base for more missile under their protection.
