Can /k/ explain to me why this SHORAD system with seemingly high specifications is unable to shoot down basic drones (webm related)? Why is it so shit?
Why are multiple Russian radars unable to spot these little guys? I know that Russians always lie, they always cut corners, but for the sake of the argument, let's take Russian claims at face value.
>1L125 Niobium-SV
From what I gathered from various slavic runes sites about radars, this bitch is essentially Nebo-M's export version 55Zh6ME, but modified by Russian Aerospace Forces for their own use. I assume it has roughly the same specs as Nebo-M. Some sources claim that the Niobium-SV is solely for the use of air defense brigades.
Nebo-M's manufacturer claims that the radar is able to see and target F-22 and F-35. They also claim, per wiki, that Nebo-M can exchange targeting information Pantsir, S-300, and S-400 or others in order to guide them towards threats. So why can't this modified Nebo-M spot a little drone?
>Pechora-3
I have no clue what this radar is. I don't think that it has anything to do with S-125 system. I'd love to know more about this one.
>59N6-E Protivnik-GE
This is an older radar array, developed in late 90's, that can work as part of the Nebo-M radar system. It can also interface with S-3/400 and Pantsir. It's AESA, it's either D/L-band depending on who's writing the specs, it can lock on to satellites, it's a fucking wunderwaffe. Here's what one source had to say:
>"The radar has a high degree of measurement process automatization and a high-resolution under intensive countermeasures. There are air route data processing, secondary air traffic control radar and suitable interface to any automatic control systems. Automatic diagnostics, monitoring and fault finding system are the features of this radar. The automatic mode of operation is also possible. Air search coverage of the radar extends to 200 km in height, i.e. this radar can discover satellites into the near orbit."
