What's the QRD on the bill? I know they got rid of the stupid land sale and there's a shitload of cuts for basic government funding (when isn't there?) but I'm primarily asking about what it'll mean for suppressors if it gets passed right now.

if it gets passed RIGHT NOW (without the new amendment in the OP) it means when you go to buy a supressor you pay 0$ tax BUT you still have to go through the faggy paperwork and registry.

We would need the supreme court to rule on this (anywhere from this year to 15 years from now who knows) to rule its unconstitutional since 0 dollars cant be considered a "Tax" (which is the only reason the NFA is constitutional in the first place)

Even if this is all that occurs (and not the complete removal of SBRs and suppressors), this is still progress towards more gun freedom. The anti gunners have been winning because they go for one small thing at a time over years. Undoing the entire NFA at once will be nice, but we need to keep pushing for smaller wins, too, and the tax removal will be a good start.

the 0$ tax is good but the registration is the problem. Most gun owners could care less about the 200 dollar tax , its the paperwork and being put on a list that prevents them from wanting this stuff.

If we just end up getting the 0$ tax , the only reason it will be good is it opens up legal avenues to kill the NFA for being unconstitutional (since a tax of 0$ isnt a tax at all)

the reality is trump has done a very shitty job of reforming the republican party and there are enough retards in the party to sink the bill (for other reasons other than guns)

they needed JD vance to break the tie just to get to this stage , if the house guts out all the senate jew pork there is a chance the entire bill could fail.

For example the green energy shit is a big deal for some of the flyover american states. and the SALT stuff is a huge deal too.

Reread the original post, A lot of people in these threads are complaining that it's not what they expected. Yes, a complete repeal of the NFA would be nice, but even the removal of the $200 tax is still better than before. The part about gun control making gains was they did it by making small changes over the years. Gun rights can also be restored by making small changes over the years, and the tax repeal is a part of that. Nothing in that post was about giving up and voting blue for now on.

SALT is state and local taxes. before trump was president in 2017 you could deduct your state and local taxes from your federal taxes so if you were living in a blue state like NY, NJ or California you were paying less in federal income taxes than you would and that tax money was going to your state and only your state.
After 2017 trump got rid of SALT deductions so you would have to pay more in federal income taxes if you were a well off boomer in NJ making over $100k and you owned your own home

Federal judge confirmations used to need a 3/5th majority. Then the Democrats got a majority and decided to change it to only needing a simple majority. Republicans told them that they were being retarded, because when the Republicans inevitably took control back, they would use that decision to confirm conservative judges, and the Dems decided to do it anyway. I'm blaming the party and everyone involved for not having a spine
basically what you're saying is that one unelected bureaucrat gets to decide what is technically germane to a spending bill
and even despite the fact that the original 1934 NFA was passed as an excise tax, this unelected bureaucrat is allowed to determine that the removal of a TAX is not germane to a TAX AND SPENDING bill

again, this is hair splitting pilpul
If I reduced the income, social security, and healthcare taxes to zero, any rational person would see the act of filling out every box in the 1040 with "$0.00" and then sending in an empty meaningless tax return to the IRS as absolute bureaucratic retarded insanity.
I understand the technicality of what you're saying, however the technicality of it is irrational and meaningless.
Your argument is that it can't be changed because it affects policy, when the entire reason that it can affect policy is because the NFA was passed the EXACT SAME WAY in 1934. They took away our rights then manufactured the Byrd rule in the 80's to say "ooooooh yeah sorry I know it shouldn't have passed like that but it did and now because of the byrd rule we have to just continue infringing on your rights sowwwwwyyyyy"
