Ok everyone, sit the fuck down and learn something. I used my Garmin Xero to test some .357 ammo out of my handguns. Interesting results. I have some Buffalo Bore on the way to test later.

125gr almost 1500fps average with a 5" barrel is not too shabby!

Energy transfer on impact, impact velocities effect initial resistance. All that energy is just opening the bullet up. The rest is just a wasted transfer that has no effective terminal result on the target. A larger diameter, more mass and momentum will always bring about a more favorable result when it comes to pistols. 357 sig is better than 9mm. 40 is better than both.

Soviet era "chokolate" is absolute SHITE.
I once had a bite, and I still remember how awful it tasted. Like, Actually feel in my mouth how bad it was. It was like someone takins sawdust and old motor oil and making "chokolate" out of it. Granted, I was probably spoiled by being raised in Finland with some ACTUAL CHOKOLATE, so I could not appreciate the russian variety. (yes, I have been to Soviet union and Russia after it all fell. It was shit, and it sucked.)

I am sure it is an acquired taste that if that's what you had as a kid, you kinda still miss, if for nothing else than nostalgia. But it's still shit.
Just... just DO NOT try to eat soviet-recipe "chokolate. Just don't. You will regret it.

I feel like they clash aesthetically. If you don't want too aggressive, VZ has some nice medium bite textures in their lineup. Get a set with the super scoop. Try the 320s, Frags, or Slants.

I like super aggressive texture even when it does tenderize my hands. I like the Simonich Gunners but they aren't different enough from the factory Operator 2s to be worth switching for me.

The ones you have on there have those angular cuts and muh hexagons and just... Meh. They might look better on a Nighthawk Envoy except the ones that come on it look better anyway.

If you don’t want to fuck with sear and hammer shit, Nighthawk makes these drop in trigger cassettes that work in 1911s and 2011. Modern Warriors has the black versions at 35% off, so 300 to 200 dollars for a true drop in 1911 trigger.

The backstory is they were invented by a competition shooter who’s very active on the forums. Nighthawk partnered with him to make it a production item, they can go like 80k rounds before they need service. I think if it went mainstream it could modernize 1911s, since all the main trigger components are now in a single easily replaceable housing. Most critical tolerances are now controlled in the cassette and not dependent on the frame.

I have two guns with it, great optics system, when they say it takes 30 seconds to swap between plates or irons they really mean it.

Downsides
>expensive as fuck, the cut starts at 350-450, they require an refinishing of the slide, you're like 500+ dollars in and don't even have an optic plate yet
>plates are 150 dollars each and in my case require a little bit of fitting to get to slide onto the optic rails
>optic BUIS may not be zeroed (but are close enough), if you buy a plate with an optic ask them to do a test target with the optic plate's BUIS (extra fee)

>C&H's plate has studs in the screw holes for the rmr mount, meaning less horizontal shear on the screws
>Atlas's plate looks like it has a better and more sturdy interface with the slide than C&H's cross.

If you intent to shoot optics only it doesn’t make much sense compared to a Dawson DPO cut or other. You can get Dawson DPO cuts for 200 dollars without a plate, a cheap shitty CH plate would be like 70 bucks so for 270 dollars you have an optic cut. The Nighthawk cut, 270 dollars doesn’t even get you the cut.

92SB compact should take 92 compact mags, the new mecgar compact mags have 16 round capacity (3 more than the original)

92SB compact is pre US military trials IIRC. It has a thinner trigger guard and with the pre-F (F for federal acceptance) parts weren't drop in compatible as they are today. IIRC LTT makes no guarantees shit will drop in and work like they do for every other gun with the SB.

You should wear eyepro, although I think even a pair of plastic sunglasses suffice. You do still have to worry about the casings burning your face, which will happen eventually.
