India's attempt at making its own fighter jet engines has officially failed. The chairman of its DRDO (Defence Research & Development Organisation) has confirmed the program is dead. India's Tejas fighters will not use these engines.

As much as I love to mock the Jeets they are in good company. About 2 dozen nations have tried and failed to make top tier military engines.

Its even worse for the next generation as well. There are only 3 maybe 4 companies that even come close to producing the kind of ultra-high temp core, thermal recapture, high level power generation and long duration super-cruise systems that are going to be needed.

Modern high-end jet engines are easily the second hardest thing to produce in quantity, behind high end computer chips. Which is why you can count the number of companies capable of producing them on one hand (and Boom will never be one of them lmao). Jet engines are fucking hard.

Rocket science is unironically easier.

Production capability is becoming more important than absolute performance at any cost, jets will not just be lost in air 2 air combat, but increasingly on the ground from long range missile strikes. A long war will mean that the initial pool of high performance low production volume jets will be replaced by simpler, cheaper and lower performance jets, which will have the absolute advantage of being present and expendable.

Why do India and Pakistan bother. So manyy of their population are food insecure and illiterate. 200 million indians and 50 million pakistani don't know where their next meal is coming from or if they eill get one. Any major year long pressure divertinng resources and attention like a war and a hundred million will die simply from starvation

And they are trying to build jet engines and nukes and export their unwanted tard sons to be a burden elsewhere.

That is a valid reason to create a domestic advanced weapons program to act as a deterrent. It's ineffective against developed nations, but India isn't surrounded by them and so the attempt alone acts as a big enough deterrent.
It is not a strong one, but it's enough for the less blessed in the thinking department - of which they all have more than enough.

Are you certain you aren't a chink, because it's unlikely that a Jeet would claim the Jeet mean IQ is 68. The Chinks who fled to Taiwan have undergone a similar selective pressure to those were are selectively tested in various 1st tier Chink cities. The KMT backers and supporters were mostly urbanites who moved to coastal areas as China opened up prior to the civil wars, the remnants of other warlords' forces, merchants, landowners, ect. So you'd expect them to around a standard deviation above the rest of the population.

I could post a dozen of these but, you'll notice that every year: American Whites, American Asians(expat population as detailed above), Marjor Urban Centers in Asia, Japan, Worst Korea, ect; all leapfrog one another. The IQ data of those same regions and races cluster around 104-106. Yet a national representative survey of Chinese second and third tier cities, or the working class of first tier cities let alone the countryside doesn't exist past 2008, when China forbade the collection of the data. India also forbade unsupervised collection of data and thus when some internal documentation came out this year I and many others have revised our assessments of their mean national IQ down from 82 to 68.

This is speculative because the faggots refuse to give us the data but prior to 2008 China clusted with Vietnam on the PISA. Thus the mean iq of China is likely bet around 92 which is what Vietnam consistently reports, though like China they mostly same urban areas. In Vietnam's case it may be more a matter more of practicality then face however.

The Chinks lie with every word, do you really think they wouldn't see prestige in in reporting a relatively high mean IQ of 102?

>Saaar the Chink IQ stats are fake as fuck saar. We do not cherry pick and lie unlike the cheating chinks saaar.

Nah, he's right for two reasons, neither of which is specific to china alone
Firstly, statistics of any kind in commie countries are commonly fucked around with to a ridiculous degree, and i don't mean only important stuff like production numbers but even shit like ticket sales in cinemas.
Why, you may ask? To show that people come in droves to see the adventures of Chapaev/ the Donetsk miners or whatever Hero of the Soviet Union they were pushing because would those propaganda movies fail to bring enough viewers the cinema would get a ban on western movies which actually managed to bring in people on their own
The cinemas would get around this by simply selling you a ticket for a propaganda flick a then letting you see "Enter the dragon" like you wanted in the first place kek

The second reason is the face saving culture common in that part of the world which coupled with the previous stuff is bound to produce some hilarious stat fuckery

The math doesn't make sense. About 2 million KMT+refugees fled to Taiwan. Taiwan had a total population of 6 million after, so a third of which were KMT. To get an average IQ of say 106, the average KMT IQ would have to be 118. Which would be incredible given that it was mostly soldiers.

The other circumstantial reason why their IQ is proving in the same range is that the EA population is genetically very similar, even more so than Europeans. IQ is not fluid, so circumstantially we should expect the IQ of these countries to be in the same range. It doesn't say much about whether the Han IQ is 106 or 104, but it is extremely unlikely it is 100 or 99 or something.

Uh huh. I guess they're able to create things out of thin air then, given a 60% smaller GDP would mean their known output of goods would be impossible.

Also with how comically inept and corrupt India is, their GDP would then likely be 75-90% smaller than their stated figure.

TL;DR why don't they just give up and just mass produce basic propeller planes with modern comforts and weapons? That would be suicide for just about any other country's air force but India actually has the man power
and lack of value for human life almost on par with China's
that creating more targets than their enemy has missiles or aircraft and drones to intercept against is a legitimate strategy. Then maintain and preserve their few beloved Sukhoi's and Rafale's for those who are most competent to fly them... LOL nah they'll be reserved almost entirely for the ethnic Brahmin class regardless of whether or not they're actually effective at piloting them. Meritocracy and self accountability doesn't exist in India, which by now is probably obvious to most of the anons here.

Heck that would come with some advantages too like for one needing to be less skilled of a pilot to fly low bellow most radars even.

Whatโ€™s the issue? Building cutting-edge engines is really hard, but just building engines a few generations behind the cutting edge is NOT that difficult. It takes many decades of ongoing technical experience and investment to make high-end engines, which is why Russia is able to build them, but with Indiaโ€™s money there should at least be enough of a technical base to have an engine program that can at least produce working engines even if theyโ€™re not competitive with the state of the art. Did they just not want to spend the money? Too much corruption?

Given TSMC was born in well Taiwan and is arguably one of the most important companies in history I'd say the 'Great leap' forward may indeed have had adverse affects in the Mainland Chinese population, also the whole mass killing of intellectuals too probably resulted in some brain drain. AMD Intel and Nvidia are all reliant on them more so than they are on say Malaysia or Israel. You don't start a company like that with a dumb starving poverty ridden population. Hence why India's past attempts to create their own version of Silicon Valley failed, that and sanctions probably hurt them too since they wanted to be neutral but went about it in a retarded way. Same reason Bangladesh is also a third world dump too or more so than it should be anyway, Pakistan targeted their intellectuals first when they initially just wanted more autonomy and protested for it.... Huh no wonder Pakistan and the CCP are such good friends...

>Why is India so much worse at corporate espionage than China?
What would they even do with the nitty gritty details of how more advanced countries like the US Japan and Bongistan make their jets and jet components? The urge to cut ridiculous amounts of corners is still ingrained in their culture much like how we've seen how Indian sourced parts for the XM7 and P320 program went and that's a cultural problem they need to overcome before they can even start playing catch up with the the rest of the world. Knowing how to make something doesn't mean you can make it.
For now the best India can make and export are t-shirts jewelry rugs and maybe some more primitive tech that's hard to fuck up. And good god I hope no one has the bright idea to start a lithium battery factory there.

Not to mention the crazy sanctions they'd suffer from if they did steal info like that especially in the political climate the world is in currently.

India's only hope to become a non third world dump is to continue to do trade with the West so they can gradually climb up the quality of life ladder. Pershing delusions of grandeur and pissing off the US EU or Japan would almost certainly doom them to decades of continued poverty.
The best India can hope for in regards to an independent air force now is just copy ancient designs like the F-14 and Migs while also capping their speed so the pot metal air frames don't wear out as fast and then just mass produce them to the point where losing a couple hundred a days is trivial and doesn't matter.
