They did sign off on troops in the field getting T-20E2s in June 1945 despite many problems with stoppages and cooking the handguard for the extra firepower. Garand production was already slowing down and the manual of arms isn't all that different from the BAR. Probably wouldn't have gone anywhere but maybe the M-14 wouldn't have been so retarded.

There's someone who's selling this 1932 Tula mosin near me for $250, but I think it's been Bubba'd at some point. It's missing the top handguard and is shorter than normal for what I think is a 91/30? I dont know a whole lot about mosins in detail.
It's got a bent bolt handle, too.
Can anyone confirm if this is indeed a bubba special? pic related

real snipers (russki babblesqueal: Snajper) identification:
-c-h or c-s stamp on top of receiver
-early 40s production, rough finish
-old PU scopes have no phillips screws
-high front sight post, not side corrected for attached bayonet because no bayonet for snipers
-both rifle and scope numbers electro penciled into PU mount
-only tula (few) and ishevsk (most) prod.

all those can be faked, but not this one:
left side of barrel root at the receiver must be empty or have the scope number stamped there (left of rifle serial on receiver)
russkies stamped their whatever qc marks into every part of the rifle, if such stamps are at the left barrel root, its not a real production selected sniper rifle.

AFAIK no US soldiers ever used P.14 rifles in combat. While training in Britain it may be a possibility, but the US units who fought as part of the British Army were using SMLE Mk.IIIs. Of course it's possible that an American who joined the Canadian or British Army might have used one in that regard, but they wouldn't have been "doughboys".

And it normally shouldn't, unless it served in a foreign military which did serialize such parts as standard practice. A M1903 might have its bolt serialized in US service if it was a match rifle but that was done as a armorer-level thing for accuracy reasons and not an official Ordnance practice. All M1903 bolts were interchangeable and thus didn't need serial numbers.

To achieve proper cartridge lenght I used soft point bullets with PPU brass, Norma brass is shorter for some reason and fmj bullets are tapered as fuck at at the bottom.

As much as I know that corrosive ammo was standard for the time, I can't bring myself to buy anything that's horribly pitted or worn. My bore standards make it a bit more difficult to find WWI and earlier arms that I'd buy but more satisfying when I do find a nice one.

.220 cases wont work in the clips from the get go due to the rim being slightly larger. I sacrificed one S&S clip attempting to widen the guides to fit 220 rims but I had difficulty widening it without also loosening the guide tension created by the wire.

Unless there's some super aids compound specific to 8mm I don't know what would cause rust other than not fully cleaning the barrel.
Anonymous No.63954951

I dry it, and do the traditional cleaning with hoppes and rem oil the next day, or sometimes a few days later. I was under the impression that flushing the bore with water eliminates the corrosive salts, so figured when I get to it I get to it.

Maybe I need to get on it quicker. But I remember even doing the water and cleaning right after shooting that a few days later when I sent a patch through to see if it was sufficiently cleaned it came out orangeish.

Idk. I doubt itโ€™ll kill the bore. They ran these rifles much harder with far less cleaning back in the day and they still lasted forever. I just feel bad seeing a rust colored patch.

Steyr only made spare parts for Chile, not complete rifles. There was a whole scandal in Chile when a Chilean officer in the pay of DWM tried to claim OWG parts were all out of spec and useless, but it turned out they were literally all fine. Most M90/M93 bayonets are going to interchange just fine. I have Turkish bayonet that fits on Spanish, Boer, and Argie rifles and vise-versa.

So that >>63955215 is actually my Peruvian M1891, with its SIG-made spitzer barrel. Surprisingly that shoots only about 3-4" high at 100 yards using Argie surplus ammo.

My Argentine-used M1891 has a very worn muzzle and you can drop one of those spitzer Argie projectiles about 1/2" down the muzzle before the bearing surface catches some rifling. It doesn't shoot well, especially compared to my Argie 1891 carbine which got a new barrel at some point in its life. This is with PPU FMJ at 100 yards. The rifle isn't hitting as high as the carbine, but it's all over the place compared to the short boi.

Mosinbros, I need some advice. Over a year ago I let myself get swindled into buying a $1200 M1891 Mosin, made in 1924 and by Izhevsk. It worked decently but in recent months, the accuracy had worsened, even at 100m. And just last night, a friend of mine introduced me to the laser bore sight. It finally dawned on me that after a couple months of hitting a 100m target with only 1/5 shots, the laser showed me it was wildly off, pointing down and left. How do I fix this accuracy problem or do I try to gaslight a different gun store into taking it?

The Chinese tokarevs we got were built for export to North America in like the 70s up until the 90s. There arenโ€™t many legitimate milsurp tokarevs from china.

But thatโ€™s not a bad thing. They eventually had the best manufacturing process for making the guns because they did it for so long. The bluing has had less time to wear off on the Chinese guns too.

Avoid the 9mm theyโ€™re shit I hear. I have a 7.62 tok with its original import box itโ€™s a great gun for the price.

I just notice itโ€™s really picky with ammo. Some brands of ammo shoot horribly through it. Other ammo can hit a nickel on a string.

The trigger is weird, and ergonomics are shit. But itโ€™s a neat gun firing an oddball cartridge. Avoid the ones with the import safety on the trigger, the frame added safetyโ€™s are also shit but easy to get rid of. Half cock hammer is the intended safety and all Chinese toks have it.

This was a sale B grade, I think it was 250$. Has a cross carved into the butt stock. Was missing the safety mechanism. Had a broken magazine spring so I just got an aftermarket mag.

The stock cleaned up nice. Lots of boiled linseed oil and elbow grease.

Iโ€™m disappointed the Ethiopians chopped the hand guard at the sling swivel. I have a patch of about 6 inches of naked barrel. I was considering getting a repro full hand guard, but for over 70$ I canโ€™t justify it on a 250$ rifle. It will never match the same either. Iโ€™m just going to accept this is an Ethiopian rifle and thatโ€™s how they ran them.

The bore is exceptional on this rifle. I wonder if it sat until it was imported because of the broken magazine. A mothballed Ethiopian rifle is better than a warlords militia rifle.

Just over 8. We weren't her first owners so I don't know 100%, we got her from a couple who wanted to use her for a monetized instagram, but Hazel is notoriously camera shy. When we got her she was underweight, had ear infections and mites everywhere. It was a good 7 or so years we had her.

You are misunderstanding it.

They have their new ones with their new production receivers, etc. The actual stocks of unfucked with milsurp Garands is running dry, so even their normal Field Grade, Rack Grade, Correct grade, etc rifles are built by them. They have new production wood, and "reclaimed" receivers, which are original receivers from drill rifles.

These are actual unfucked with milsurp rifles. It doesn't say "made with surplus stocks" it says "sources from original US Military surplus stocks", as in the rifles themselves are from government stockpile.

Got the barrelled action for $30 then a 95 chileno with a bolt $50 (that is still WIP) so im sharing bolts.

Swedish stock cut-down with relocated hardware, AMD65 cleaning rod holding the band spring in (lol). Handguard I carved, older pic since i eventually got it perfectly matched. Also just finished bed + free float.

Came with the target sights, gonna maybe see if i can scope it without ruining the receiver any further since b+l rear base looks like it uses the same holes as the sights.

If i tried to make it original it'd be a money sink but just making a classy sporter is more fun anyways imo.

Might even be a bannerman spanish-american war capture/surrender, doesnt show any signs of rearsenals tho it has no rear sight base.

Kino serial, surprisingly good bore although whoever cut it down didnt even crown the barrel so I should prob do that.
