It does indeed look good, but Iโ€™ve heard really good things about Cheely, so Iโ€™m not sure if you want to pinch pennies here. The Engineerโ€™s Armory channel on youtube has a nice little series where he assembles and tunes a 2011, and he uses a Cheely.

Tisas makes a functional gun at 300 bucks, might not be up for self defense because feeding hollow points is where the 1911 has trouble.

Springfield Milspec or Garrison is also what you want.

If you have money, look for a Springfield TRP classic

M9/92FS is the classic
92 Brigadier has a thicker slide and dovetailed front sights (m9/92FS lacks this)
M9A1 is M9 with rail
92X RDO is a modernized 92FS
M9A4 is basically a 92X RDO but with a threaded barrel and a M9A1 style trigger guard

92Xi is dumb, SAO thumb safety on a M9A4 frame
92 GTS is dumb, thumb lever decocker on a M9A4 frame

It was fun! The 1911s kept jamming but they're original and in great condition, so they'rejust kinda neat. He just got them and it was his first time shooting them. He likes the VP9 Match a lot. It was his first time shooting a striker fired, red dot, suppressed handgun, and a super safe MP5. He loved it all and so did I.

That video is some of the best shooting advice I have ever heard, he has also helped me figure out the rest of my grip as well, no stupid thumb pressure shit, no stupid push pull, just grip the gun and put muzzle back on target.

Ernest Langdon videos also helped, where I formed my grip based off his analogy of using that spike/post hole digger thing.

I've never known the RM08 to be particularly bad with regards to parallax, I always thought it was rather middle of the road.
What determines this I wonder, the overall curvature of the lens maybe? Any optical engineers in the house?

Oh something else I forgot to mention, while I can """objectively""" measure the parallax distortion I wanted to post the full size images >>63941164 >>63941169 so you guys can subjectively judge other attributes like lens tint, barrel distortion and light transmission. Note the Deltapoint Micro's light transmission and the RMR's extreme tint for example

>>63941181
Little to none on acquisition, perhaps a lot on shot placement. That target is only 10 feet from the camera, you could imagine the inches of potential distortion you could get at 25 yards, if you put the dot at the edge of the window. Always keep the dot centered for this reason

>target acquisition
essentially no change
>shot placement
this could actually be significant, if you're really at the extreme in putting the dot at the very edge of the window
a lot of guys are taken aback at this when they try to do a competition stage and are forced to shoot their pistol from a weird position, like under a car
they don't put the dot in the middle of the window, or do so at a weird distance to their eyeball, and then miss the target badly

Well, I'm not an optical engineer, but the way I understand it, red dots work by projecting some light onto a lens, and then collimating it into a single column. This column is then projected backwards into your eye. If that column is hitting in a different spot on your eyeball than it usually does, then your point of impact is going to move.

Ok hear me out. If you're still not satisfied by Beretta number 20, then maybe your favorite weapon brand really doesn't fulfill you? Every normal handgun owner I know is perfectly happy with their main weapon, even if it's their only one. I know a Canik shill who loves his Rival, and ditto for Glock etc. These guys love their brand, but they feel satisfied enough with their firearm that they're not going to wanna buy what is essentially the same gun with minor differences. And if they do, it's a practical backup, of which they'd only desire a couple. Contrast that with the miserable autist energy that comes from having to purchase dozens of similar weapons, only for them to clearly fail in satisfying xim. In other words, if Berettas were as good as Berettatroon claims, then xe would be happy with just 2-3 Berettas. Xe would buy as many as xe needed, but eventually xe would get satisfied with what xe had. Xe wouldn't feel the need to buy 20+ of them. This is autistic behaviour which says a lot about the nature of the retard posting. Of course, his retardation is obvious already, considering the fact that he keeps jacking off to coom magazines depicting some moldy, ugly whore that he's never going to have sex with. He's essentially on the level of an OnlyFans subscriber who pays for bath water.

Most red dots are not true 1.0x, they're typically like 1.05x or 1.1x but I'm not sure how big a factor that is in distortion.

I think its mostly that most optic lenses are spherical because it's much easier (cheaper) to grind than aspheric. There are supposedly aspheric lenses in pistol optics, the higher end Sig Romeos and C-More RTS2 are some of them, but I'm dubious whether they really are. See the results in the collage (RTS2 is upper end of mid) and the fact that they're not significantly more expensive. I think the thickness of the lens plays a big factor too as well

Any calicucks here today?

I was at the range and saw a fat dude shooting an AR with a basically normal configuration. No fin grip, no fixed mag spotted. So I got curious and looked up the local outdoor ranges around me, then browsed through the customer uploaded photos. To my surprise I saw a lot of non compliant stuff. AKs with 30 round mags and no fin grip, ARs with the same.

Is it just a 'dont ask dont tell' sort of atmosphere? Does CA just not have the resources to snoop on the ranges?

Yes, I've shot my friends. He had the large back strap on and I really liked the LOP in that configuration. It's still a micro 9, but I really liked that I was pulling the trigger with a more 'natural' part of my finger if that makes sense. I initially wasn't plagued with shooting left which I think is a product of how i squeeze the trigger when my hand is too big for the pistol. Also HK released a two tone variant, so that's what I'm getting. I heard it was because they fucked up some of the slides initially kek

Absolute cope. If I wanted dozens of guns, I'd buy absolutely different ones because I'm not a goddamn autistic faggot. I'd actually embody your cope about the different configurations, because each weapon would serve a unique purpose. I'd have a tiny snubby for stealth, a large revolver for fun, maybe two for dual wield fun, some old-school revolvers for history's sake, some more historical weapons just for the hell of it and because as PP says, they still get the job done today. Then of course I'd have a couple serious modern war pistols, fitted with special attachments and cans, whose purpose would probably be to defeat the British if they ever tried to fuck with this country again. If you add in the fact that I'd probably want to have all major calibres represented, at that point my firearm count would be in the dozens. However, I wouldn't be autistically collecting the same thing like it's Hot Wheels. I also wouldn't be posting moldy whores unironically. Call me a hypocrite if you want, but when I do it, it's as a "fuck you", not as a " hey look how cool I am, fellow kommando retards"

First of all, how can I improve the manual safety? Is there a part for sale or a method to enlarge it? Second of all, what is a good carry round for a micro 9? I assume 124 +p Gold Dot or 124 +p Federal HST is still fine with one less inch but I'd like something that's low flash and recoil because I usually hate shooting micro 9s

Most importantly, this board really is the dumbest board on all of 4chan. At least, out of the ones I've been on. I've never seen such a bunch of autistic goycattle shitters. Instead of asking why I'm referring to /k/ommandos as fucking retards, you should ask yourself what redeeming qualities /k/tards have. Having an exponentially higher chance to go on a mass shooting doesn't count as a redeeming quality btw.

These are bordeline useless. You'll need ear plugs under them even outdoors with relatively quiet guns. I fell for the meme and bought a set of them and never use them for shooting. I use them in the shop or while working on the car. Impact tools aren't as loud as guns.

I'm sorry anon. My father and I have other difficulties, but we both love firearms and bond of them. If you can, treasure whatever common ground y'all have.

My dad and I went back to the range today to shoot more fully semi-automtic super safe MP5K. We also shot
>his stag horn Colt Single Action Army (gen 1) in 45 COLT
>my IMI Jericho 941
>my HK CC9

The Colt SAA was cool! I head bullseye with every round on my first cylinder. And the Jericho is a sweet shooting gun too. Steel-framed guns are just cool and easier to shoot. Very nice trigger and low recoil on both of them. Picrel is him shooting the Jericho.

This trip also marks1,000 rounds through the CC9 with 0 malfunctions of any sport (other than my curious dot zero which is verymuch off center from my irons that I actually centered idk).

However, the real MVP was the super safety MP5K. He had so much fun with it and I'm helping him shop for one now.

The MP5 super safety is 100% easy drop in, but it's gotta be a lower that can take AR controls. I got the Lee's lower all set up from AS Designs (https://activesafetydesigns.com/). We ordered him a super safety from them for his AR and now he's online shopping the MP5 clones so he can super safe that :D

Anyway, as I was saying. Chinese guns are in fact superior to Turkshit and Brazilshit. I have tested this.

>Turkshit
Shotgun cracked after 20 slugs

>Brazilshit
Can't hit a barn door from 1 metre

>Chinkshit
Works great, but jams sometimes. Smart owner can easily fix this so it doesn't ever jam.

A Chinese Norinco Tokarev in 9mm. I would trust my life to it. It's not quite as good as a 2011, but it's extremely easy to disassemble, repair, modify, and make parts for. You can easily make almost any part for a Tokarev out of scrap metal. Unfortunately, this weapon is picky about ammo, so it won't run every type of 9 mm. With certain 9mm loads, it will jam every time. This is mitigated by running good ammo. Anyway i gtg, I got shit to do. Peace, suckas.

They'll be pretty spaced out. I'm really pinching pennies on my budget. I'm not really the super rich kind of guy who can just plonk a few grand out the gate for a custom, but I'll squeeze every penny I've got to make this happen. This will likely be my only truly bespoke firearm. When I build My AR (whenever that happens), it'll just be assembling pieces in a Lego kit, not unlike when I built my PC, but this will actually require some elbow grease out of me. It'll take a lot of time and dedication. A lot of sanding with 600 grit paper and lapping compound and slaving over precise caliper measurements, hoping my digital caliper will be precise enough.
But I really look forward to the final product. I'm already psyched.

If youโ€™re going to do that you can either hot blue
Or the cheap hobo blue way is to dip it in heated to a near boil cold blue (nublue) give it a few minutes then yank out wash in boiling baking soda and put heavy amounts of clp on the parts

Is it a 380 or 32? Import or sw or a new Walther? SW may have bad safeties so check with a pencil to see if decocker is bad
380 definitely needs a new 20 lb spring or it kicks these are good cheap grips btw https://www.ebay.com/itm/324617884020

You gave no criteria in what you want in the gun, so nobody can say for sure. The P2000 was discontinued btw fwiw to you. You'll either find a clearance deal or a price hike for ultra rare discontinued gun. You might have missed the clearance sales desu.

No that's the worst way to learn to shoot with both eyes. Everything you learn doing this will have to be un-learned, blocking one eye is only for competition target shooting.

If you're having convergence issues due to some eyesight problem (I have Binocular Vision Dysfunction which is how I know), try a target-focus aim, and shop around to see which pistol sights compliment this technique with your eyes. Even if you don't have vision problems a target focus is still a very effective technique if you train it.

Generally speaking 3-dot sights are shit for this, something like picrel works best for most people.

>No that's the worst way to learn to shoot with both eyes
I dont know if its the worst way or the best way, but it was how I learned to shoot both eyes open. Tapped the glasses for a while, got comfortable with it doing target shooting, ditched the tape, and continued both eyes open. Once I got used to ignoring the wrong picture it just felt more natural to shoot both eyes open. I went down the whole path because squinting was giving me headaches. I wasnt intending to take that route, but its how it ended up working

The .308 bore size was chosen for no other reason than it's 30-cal. If the aim of the exercise was to make the most effective dual-speed super/sub cartridge which is compatible with 223 bolts, magazines, and uppers, then the correct approach would be;
>go up a bore size
>cut back the case to fit a super-heavy within 2.290"OAL
>fill the case with powder
>fire it
>if it breaks the sound barrier, go up a bore size and repeat
When you do this the .223 parent case achieves full-power subsonic superheavies at .277. And there's a wildcat called 277Wolverine which outperforms the 300blk in almost every way (and every way which actually matters).

That's why I don't like 300blk, it's not an engineering-first cartridge. It was born around the same time people were talking about giving special forces soldiers rifles with conversion kits to fire 7.62x39. It's peak "Future Weapons" nonsense, and therefore had to be "30 caliber".

But they didn't do what I described in choosing to legitimize 300blk, they skipped 243, 257, 264, 277, 284, and went straight to .308. They started with the conclusion, and reasoned how to make it work. I view this as a completely unnecessary and harmful design constraint.

I totally understand being locked into certain design choices due to necessity, but the fact is that the .308 bore was NOT one of those necessities, it was self-imposed, and we know that for certain because 300blk required a totally new twist-rate. It wasn't like there was a bunch of cheap rifled .308 blanks lying around waiting to be chambered, to stabilize the heavy bullets in the short barrels they needed to go to 1/8.

And bore size is really important in the context of making a super-quiet subsonic round, because increasing the size of the hole in a suppressor's endcap and baffles does increase the sound which escapes. So ignoring supersonic performance, external ballistics, BC/SD, loaded cartridge weight etc. (all of which are in favor of 277) it also compromises suppression to just blindly go all the way to 308.

Practicality is more important than autistic "design first" shenanigans. Being able to use the second most common rifle cartridges projectiles is way more important than that. Also could be wrong but I was under the impression that a .30ish" bore wasn't an entirely arbitrary choice and had to do with ensuring proper function across wide ranges of temperatures while staying subsonic partially due to lessons learned from the whole subsonic 7.62x39 project the Soviet did.

Glad I brought my Stribog today, almost had a disaster range trip as I hadn't tried out my carry with cheap hard primer turkshit yet. Diet of Federal/soft primed American ammo only. Stribog also started choking after 800 rounds of suppressed shooting without cleaning, now time to let the innards and can soak in Slip2k.

But they don't. They don't use 308 winchester barrel blanks or bullets. It wasn't a more practical decision than .277, it was a "DUH SEVEN SIX TOO SOVIET CARTRIDGE HAS MORE KNOCKDOWN POWER" decision.

My complaint is that when you make an alternative chambering to 223, and disrupt/splinter the AR market, driving prices up, if you're not going for optimal performance you're wasting everyone's time and money.

I mean, I've felt this way about failed linguistic reform, so I know your pain, but from what I'm reading, you only need to change out the barrel, which you'd need to do anyway for the .277.
What special disruption is happening here?

>you only need to change out the barrel, which you'd need to do anyway for the .277
And with .277 you'd have
>more long-range performance with both supers and subs
>more muzzle energy with supers
>more effective suppression with both supers and subs
>less recoil with both supers and subs
>higher sectional density projectiles
Plus the marginally lower material cost would likely bump 277 down a cent or two in terms of CPR. Obviously as things are now that's not the case because 300blk is established and .277wlv isn't, and they're too similar for 277 to make it.

But that's why I don't like cartridges like 300blk, because it's squatting right where a better cartridge should be. Same with 5.7x28; because of some screwy magazine for a NATO project PDW, 5.7x28 is preventing the emergence of a good rimless centerfire alternative to .22 hornet. We're stuck with the zero-taper, special coating, underpowered, bullshit which 5.7 is.

>What special disruption is happening here?
Manufacturing diversion. It's necessarily true that if a machine is being used to make 300blk, it's not making 223. I have no problem with that so long as what's being produced is optimal for it's given task.
