>>63940186Fiber optic UGVs can't be jammed. That's what they are working on. They are having trouble even reliably controlling UGVs past 100m with normal signals anyway.
>>63940285>hold a lineIt is unironically better at holding lines than human soldier. Human soldiers usually go
>OMG IS THAT A DRONE SOUND, IM GONNA RETREEEEEEEEEATAnd the enemy is free to crawl forward. A UGV can't be afraid. There is no fear of death, only of damaging hardware, which is barely anything to mentally surmount. As long as the weapon doesn't jam and doesn't run out of ammo (something normal soldiers struggle with too) it can hold a position for a very long time, and they do.

>>63940642>hurrdurr people are needed to fill the ammo cansIt doesn't matter because the soldiers don't have to risk their lives to do that, current UGVs work in rotations just like normal soldiers do. Plus I am sure they are trying to get the resupply UGVs to be able to do that for the weaponized UGVs without human intervention. The future is definitely headed this way. The only real holdup is fiber optics production right now all being sucked into making aerial drones as fast as possible to keep up with Russia. Commanders are too afraid to try something different right now and potentially fuck something up
