>guess what goys, you dont have to pay $200 anymore!!!
>whats that? OF COURSE we still put your name and address on a list with a breakdown of precisely what NFA items you purchase, and you have to wait for approval still and register it with us, and OF COURSE the NFA is still in effect!!!

if you read the debate and the actual text of the bill from the NFA, the guys who wrote it admit in the debate and the bill that they do not have the power to pass federal gun control. What they do have is the power to tax and the power to regulate interstate commerce. As such the NFA is a tax and the registration is simply a mechanism to ensure you paid the tax and any gun control from that is incidental.
in theory, no tax means the government has no power to enforce the registry since the registry only exists to ensure you paid the tax but if there is no tax to pay they don't need a registry to ensure you paid a tax that doesn't exist.
There are already suits filed and it's going to the courts. now granted, we live in a very different world than in 1934. We had the new deal courts and the Warren court and the federal AWB and GCA so the courts just make shit up now and don't give a shit about the constitution and the dems are all fine with that
