Is the Walther PPQ m2 9mm (the one with the normal mag drop button instead of the european trigger guard flipper ) the best compact/mid size option avaliable? Other th an magazine price its just better than t he glock 19 in every way. PDP came out so the almost identical ppqm2 are c heaper cuz the dont have optic drill mount . you can still throw a flashlight and lazer or whatever on it just like a glock 19. but it is faster and just as accurate, due to the trigger being superior. If i owned a glock 19 instead of a ppqm2 right now i'd probably be ashamed of my life choices. its a better gun. especially for the bedside handgun or venturing into nasty places while travelling handgun. its also better looking. its like chad ppq vs virgin g19

on the contrary. right before the pdp came out i bought a ppqm2 during a legal private sale in a home depot parking lot. It was ju st better than my glock 19 in every way. little harder to conceal on th e waist . i dont like appendix carry especially with such a glorious trigger because i dont want to become a eunich. other than that it fills every single niche my glock 19 does, but i can dump a mag from my ppqm2 into a target accurately much faster than i can with a glock 19. albeit my hands are like a woman hand. tiny. so i dont get a full grip on the g19 the way i do with the ever so slightly more wholseome and soulful grip of the glorious walther ppq. only handgun i like more than the ppq that i have is a cheap 'unused but at used price 90$' pristine condition hungarian FEG PA-63 in 9x18 makarov. and thats mostly cuz its just fun as hell to shoot i dont normally enjoy shooting handguns seems more like a chore. love me clays and doves tho.. but yes the PPQm2 is cheaper new than a used g19 and better in every way. its basically just a glock 19 but made better. and sometimes half the price even new

Apparently they may have swapped over to a aluminum slide which is a step up, however my trust for .22lr handgun that has a slide that looks and functions like a centerfire one is usually terrible or liable to break. Everyone other than a very small but loud minority of people seem to think the PDP is snappier than the equivalent Glock which is a hilarious design flaw and I have no idea how companies are still making new pistols that do not match the bore dimensions of a Glock after how many decades? Also the P99Q was available here (Finland) on civilian markets when I was buying my first 9mm, but after handling it I discovered that it was inferior in all ways to the PPQ. Yeah sure the decocking by pulling the slide slightly back was a nifty feature, but I just didn't see the point of it when you could just have a single action only design with a consistent light trigger pull.

I have plenty of range time with Glocks and still chose to buy the PPQ as my first handgun. My only gripe is that the height over bore makes the gun kick more, but the ergos still allow me to shoot it better than a Glock. I wouldn't advice it for someone who wants to get into optics, though

The fuck it is, it's a generic single-spring recoil system. Gen 4 Glocks got the dual spring.
If you want the best 9mm compact, get a Gen5 glock 23 and put a 9mm conversion barrel in it.
