What are some movies that had the most realistic gunfights that you've ever seen /k/? My opinion the "Way of the gun" has some pretty realistic fights

The most realistic gunfights are the ones that end within a few seconds with one party dead on the ground. Hard to find movies that embrace this but Blue Ruin is a good one.

There was a movie from the UK where a guy clears a street of gang members with an AR, then gets distracted and shot in the back with a shotgun. That was decently realistic.

Still the most accurate/realistic wild west style shoot out that I've seen on film. Same with the duel at the end.
Between this and "A History of Violence," I put Viggo up there with Kilmer for all time GOATs of gunfights.

Banger of a scene, apparently the movie itself isn't that great though. How realistic actually would this be though? I don't mean the ex-commando going on a killing spree I just mean the kind of weapons the gang members are using, I'm lead to assume while they do use an assortment of handguns they don't generally have THAT much of an arsenal

Tarkovs raid series is okay, bullets hurt and people die when they are killed. Only frustration is that people don't really use the assets available to them, both Bears and Usecs have several grenade launchers that see little to no use throughout the show (instead of waiting 10 minutes to use their RPG, the Usecs could have won the first fight just by opening with 40mm) and nobody carries an MG (well, except the SAW gunner that is killed offscreen before he is even introduced), even though we see several times in the last episode how badly a well placed MG can fuck shit up. But aside from that its pretty good.

I don't know what's realistic about this. It's some mobster walking around with 5 other guys, MC throws a firecracker and then presumably shoots his mark off-camera (unless this is somehow cut from YouTube). What did the other guys do? Did they not notice that there's someone literally within their personal space?

in london it's mostly "russians" aka shitty soviet pistols that barely work. a street of shitty council flats will have a burner russian pistol between them, that might just explode when fired, but its mostly for show. there was a rap group who called themselves Moscow 17, and it was this link to russian firearms that spawned the name. listen to "Moscow March" if you wanna see the kind of people we are talking about (most of them have since died).

more organised gangs might have some serious shit that was stored away in the countryside. the scene from hot fuzz isn't a joke. a lot of people in the country just kept it all and held the "come and get it" attitude. they found a sten in some guys house near me a while back. they claim we don't have guns but some guys got a functioning fucking sten under his bed

if your just watching clips its out of context.
basically main guy is hired to be a hitman by his brother. he carries out the hit on those mobsters.
the guys that chase him are unrelated to that mobster that was killed. they are associates/enemies of his brother. they were looking for his brother cause they knew his brother was going going to do something.
his brothers basically a pos trying to make a play for himself.

Look at this. There's like 6 or 7 fighting age men around him. Did they all just miss the guy shooting at point-blank range at their boss/associate/whatever? I don't think throwing a firecracker is going to help you here.

they see their boss fall down and they dont see main guy at all cause he already took off.
the guys who chase him had hired his brother to do the hit and were there to kill the brother after he did the job. they were already looking for a shooter.
all those guys were caught unaware. they just didnt react fast enough.

I liked a Danish western The Salvation because the guy was using some lever-gun instead of revolvers - it seems likely to me that this is something a farmer would do as a carbine would be a weapon he would buy over a revolver for his use-case; like shotguns (and not pistols or rifles) were weapons of choice for European farmers.
They are talking in some weird accent there but it's only proper and historical as well considering that it's a movie about Danish immigrants.

Bro, how do they not react? Heโ€™s walking way too close for comfort, their boss suddenly drops dead, and somehow they donโ€™t hear the โ€œsilencedโ€ shot or notice the guy right next to them lowering his bag awkwardly. Thereโ€™s a reason the shooting happens off camera: thereโ€™s no way to show it on screen without it looking goofy as hell.

Anon, I know that SS and Russian gangsters are not exactly apples-to-apples, but unless all 6 of those guys had severe brain damage--which I'm willing to believe given that it's Russians--there is no way in hell they would be caught so unaware that MC would just walk away.
I'm having a hard time imagining how MC would even line up a good shot in this situation considering just how many goons there are between him and his mark. Do you think he just pushed through their group and fired point-blank or something?
Just accept that it's a cult classic showcasing the 1990s shitshow and that some aspects of it as realistic as Russia keeping it's best troops stowed away for later. ;-)

hes shown to be good enough to kill somebody at a farther distance from a moving train.
you are the one claiming its point blank. you see him scout out the area in the movie. theres no reason it had to be as close as you think.

the makeshift bottle just needed to be enough to disguise a gunshot not mask it entirely. it clearly didnt make it movie silent considering the guys who were actively expecting a shooter were able to clock him.

Anon, please, watch the actual scene. The guy in the white jacket is a goon. They're all clustered together. This is MC lighting the firecracker, after which he continues walking behind them. Next shot is the firecracker exploding. The one after that is the two other goons looking for who did it.
Are you telling me he lit the firecracker at a range where he could touch them, then somehow walked 10-25 feet away WHILE walking in the same direction as the mark, then shot him with one .22 bullet through a Sprite bottle and a plastic bag while shooting from his hip, and then walked away as nobody noticed it?
It makes no fucking sense lmao.

if you want to keep arguing about how it happened whatever. the point wasnt that the guy teleported behind him,
it was that a bottle silencer works enough to disguise a gunshot but was noticeable enough to be something.
if it was a shitty movie ie johnwick 2 nobody would have noticed.
the realism is that it didn't silence the gun perfectly and other devices had to mask the shot.

I don't even know if that's what the director was going for. Maybe he was thinking that firecrackers would just distract everyone and MC would sneakily shoot the mark with his Sprite bottle.
Honestly, not calling this scene shitty is a bit of a stretch, because literally the whole shooting happens off-camera.

Yeah it's hard for me to watch a lot of those bodyguard movies since I also have personal protection officer licensing. Private armed guards won't be carrying full autos. Illegal and insurance isn't covering it. If armed and armored, it's almost always a concealed pistol and soft armor. Vast majority of the time it's sitting in a car doing jack shit.

Only time any full autos are out (still unseen and hidden), is it's law enforcement, there's credible threat, and they need to be somebody very important.

They would not be carrying around full auto weapons in California, all of them would know that being caught with them or using them would result in prison time. Nobody cares about their client that much, if shit really goes down they're gonna retreat. To carry in California you have to be a California resident with CCW or from any state with LEOSA. They'd still be relegated to only carrying a concealed handgun and 10 round mag, legally at least. Some are stupid enough to break the law for the low pay and no benefits they get.

Holy shit you're retarded. Lots of law enforcement have autos. They rarely go out with them. I'm not from Texass kid, that's where the misunderstanding is. It's gonna vary by state, I was under the impression they're all just security guards like in my state. In California, there's no special classification for bodyguards. They're supposed to be in a marked uniform, but my company just has us in plainclothes with our guns concealed, a violation of the armed guard laws. For mobile protection the guard is not working in security guard capacity, he's just a guy with a CCW. It's totally illegal and the company is gonna get raked over the coals if they every have to shoot someone, but that's only happened once in 40+ years of the company's existence. The owner is some pretentious Jew who doesn't care what the law says, and probably will get away with it because of connections.

Also this is why no movie shooting scenes are realistic, because they don't look like this. In real gunfights everybody gets shot up even if one side or both are completely untrained. Movies can capture firefights at distance pretty well but these movies where the guy just clears a bunch of rooms without taking a hit are completely unrealistic.

But there's shit tons of smaller companies just run by random retarded veterans that have a go hard mentality that will take those contracts, not even charging a high fee for them, and get everyone killed. cop got shot in the legs, went down, used radio first instead of topping off first, but got reloaded and worked that slide like a champ to shoot beaner crashing through the door. It looks like the beaner did not realize cop was sitting and fired to high givng cop a split second to shoot three shoots into bean before he pushed his mag release accidently. He racked, tried to strip mag, realized it was not there, reloaded and dump more lead into jumping bean. It looks like glock worked properly (saved cops life and killed the bean) but in the panic cop did not reload first, then dropped the mag accidently, but still won the fight. Movies are obviously fake because they need the star to win, and all people need to be staged in the view of the camera.

Yeah idk about that one, the actual firearms used in that scene are pretty true to life for a London street gang. For one Russian pistols are known for the opposite of unreliability but also there's plenty of variation anyway.. Revolvers, Glocks, Berettas, MACs, Skorpions, Uzis and as available as these are only the serious criminals are going to be choosing these over knives/swords. Also when talking about London criminals a drill rap group isn't the best representation, even if the nature of their lyrical content is about gang violence it's pretty surface level and largely word of mouth. The members of Moscow17 haven't "mostly died" either one of their members was shot, another stabbed but I think the majority of them are serving lengthy sentences (that's usually the case for drill rap groups)

I've bee shooting for 30 years kid. Anyone who is competitive in silouette will destroy a larperator at 40 yards with ease. In the end of the day though always remember, handhuns are by far the most inferior and ineffective of firearms compared to shotguns or rifles.
