Not going to happen.
Basically every manufacturer is using MIM parts these days. Beretta, Glock, HK, SIG, Springfield, etc.
The only places still using all bar stock for parts are the semi and full custom 1911 shops.
Not really a big deal, either. MIM had a lot of flaws a decade ago and SIG got a lot of shit for it, but since then pretty much everyone has quietly switched over for production costs and simplicity as the quality improved.

MIM parts are still metal. The 92 doesnโ€™t have that much issue with MIM other than the slide stop which isnโ€™t a critical part unlike other guns (it doesnโ€™t hold the barrel in place like a lot of guns).

It appears to have a polymer guide rod but probably has a metal trigger

Get with the time, gramps. MIM has been standard on most every small parts production for the last decade or more.
You probably have multiple parts/guns that are MIM and don't even know it (extractors, trigger group parts, etc.)

Use Glock rails instead. They look sleek and subtle, unlike slapping a damn Lepin brick onto the front of your handgun. Beretta's main selling point is the look of its handguns. If they can't get the looks down, there are plenty of other DA/SA handguns I can buy that fulfill the same roles cheaper or better.

And in the last decade or more we've seen a sharp drop in quality and reliability of newly released firearms and the rise of the "good customer service" defence narrative on jewtube. That's not a coincidence. MIM is one of many cut corners.
I trust a weathered old relic to continue functioning more than I trust anything new to function at all.

That makes no sense. You're either making this up or the idiot you believed who told you made it up.

There is no "tooling" to be lost. Tools get replaced every few weeks as they burn up with use, machines constantly need readjustment and new jigs to be built as they are swapped from job to job, cut to cut. Yeah they wear out, constantly, but replacing tools jigs and machines is a neverending part of production. That didn't disappear from Beretta. They still have the designs and TDP, they could make them if they wanted.

>In 2006, Firearms News Editor-in-Chief, Vincent L. DeNiro was the tactical product manager and pistol marketing manager for Beretta USA (before becoming founder and head of international sales for the US operation).
>In this year, he proposed semi-auto versions of the 93R; an AOW (any other weapon) which would incorporate the folding grip with no stock, a carbine version with 16-inch barrel, and a short-barreled rifle (SBR) which would basically be the 93R in semi-auto.
>For a few months into 2007, the concept was entertained by the US division as well as Beretta Italy. However, when the defense division of Beretta Italy could not locate the original tooling, the project was halted.

Definitely wrong.
A lot of factories have custom made tooling and parts. Yes, they get replaced as they wear/break, but once a product goes out of production the replacement tooling and parts dry up pretty quickly since those stop getting manufactured and replaced.
Flats for stamped parts like old SIG slides, HK's roller lock guns, and most AKs in general are a great example here.
American made AKs have been shitty for a long time primarily because it took so long to nig-rig the parts for stamping out the receivers. Same with PTR.

The polymer guide rod is self lubricating and an actual upgrade. It's to improve reliability in adverse, specifically, desert conditions. Swapping it out is a disadvantage. This was not done to save cost, but address an actual issue.
