>and their superior strenghtNot that it matters, but highly doubtful. It's hard to overstate how big a deal modern nutrition, weight training and even minimal careful use of anabolic steroids (inb4 noooo that's cheating) has been. I'm absolutely fucking nothing by serious standards but can still bench an ok 265 lbs. The current olympic record in unequipped bench is 783 lbs. For reference, the initial 1898 Olympic record was just 362 lbs, that only went to 364 in 1916, a record which then stood for over 30 years until 1950 when Hepburn became the first man ever to bench 400, followed pretty quickly by hitting 450 and then 500. Records just kept falling ever after that.
My recollection is that sure, neanderthals may have been somewhat genetically stronger. But they weren't multiple times more, and are subject to the exact same nutritional and practical considerations that we are. Weight training is taken for granted now but it's really modern, and it's also a luxury of a society where most of us don't even have to think about sufficient calories and micronutrients, it's trivial. A rando group of primitives transported into our time and coming for my house is going to get squished by much of the population on a physical level.
More importantly even if I as a slow weak fatass, my AI security system would alert me long ahead of time, and I'd just fucking shoot them if they broke in (doubtful, I've got security doors and window bars) before the police showed up.
