I liked the Echelon I handled but 2 things killed it for me:
1) Ambidextrous mag releases are fucking gay.
2) The trigger is light but it'a mushy as FUCK. It's like a 320 trigger where it's light but it's like pulling through an inch of marshmallow.

Finally got around to replacing the shitty plastic sights with some decent backup irons. If someone can recommend a better thread protector, I'll be in good shape.

I have next to no striker engagement on the combat armory frame block I just put together. I tried a few different trigger bars but none really work. Could the trigger housing just be way out of spec? I may just get a Glock one to have anyways... The guys I spoke to at KYGUNCO in Louisville, Stoddards in Atlanta, and the Modern Sportsman in north Minneapolis all said it was selling very very well and people were really liking it, but that's only 3 spots so it is a bit anecdotal. We don't get many hard sales figures from companies so it's hard to know what is and isn't a commercial success, but I do think them coming out with additional models as quick as they did is probably a good sign for sales. Ntg but it's snappy enough that my fast fire (shooting as fast as I can get sights back on target) with the PDP is about as fast as slow fire with my faster shooting pistols like my 509c or the echelons I've shot. It's not terrible and nothing that should be a deal breaker, just one of many considerations. The triggers amazing, the aethetics are neat and very cyberpunk, and the mags are very very nice to load which seems like a strange thing to care about until you go shooting with women or older relatives. The PDP mags were the only mags my Dad could load with his old boomer fingers out of the 3 guns I had brought, and it helped make him feel like he wasnt too old or weak.

I think Walther's factory thread protectors are already some of the best. Unlike standard knurling they have serrations only in the direction you'd actually need to apply torque and it really bites nicely, the end of the barrel is encapsulated like virtually no other thread protectors factory or aftermarket do (most are flush with the muzzle which means gravel could damage the crown), and the parallel serrations are also unique (and thus cool) looking

I had a 2001 Monkey learning tools moment when I figured this out by accident. I was shooting my revolver which naturally makes you want to do that to get a good hold and when I instinctually did it on my semi auto I noticed a big difference. Buying a revolver and shooting it a lot has significantly improved my pistol shooting.

Probably was a 220. As far as I know, the only models Sig has made in 10mm are the 220, 320, and their old 1911 line.

These two are my favorite pistols I've ever owned. They've both been entirely trouble free and shoot well. For the most part I prefer the Specialist, but the 220 has a sort of brutalist quality I enjoy.
