Alright, listen up you young bucks with your fancy red dots and laser pointers. I see all these threads about "co-witnessing" and "dot drills" and "finding the perfect sight picture." And I just gotta shake my head. When I was learning to shoot a pistol, we didn't have any of that electronic wizardry. We had iron sights, and more importantly, we had instinct.
You see, a pistol ain't a rifle. You ain't gonna be lining up a 300-yard shot with a handgun. A pistol is a tool for close-quarters work, for defending yourself when things go sideways fast. And in those situations, you don't have time to be fumbling around trying to find a little red dot. You gotta point and shoot.
It's all about your natural body mechanics. You extend that arm, you focus on your target, and your hand naturally points where your eyes are looking. It's like pointing your finger at something. You don't consciously think about lining up your finger with your eye, do you? No, you just point. And that's exactly how you should be with a pistol.
Now, I'm not saying don't practice with your sights. You should absolutely know how to use them. But when the chips are down, and you're under pressure, your natural pointing ability is what's gonna save your hide. Get yourself a good, solid grip, lock out that wrist, and just focus on the target. Your body will do the rest. Practice it. Dry fire it a thousand times. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can put rounds on target without even thinking about those sights.
So, next time you're at the range, try this: put that red dot in your pocket, and just focus on pointing that pistol naturally. You might just surprise yourself with how accurate you can be.

even swiss rifles are designed around target holds. The K31s I think, maybe the current STGs too, do a weird thing where for the battle zero they are combat hold/center mass hold but then at 300 meters they become belt buckle holds so the guys could use the rifles for target shooting

I sight the gun in so that it’s a 6’o’clock hold at the apogee and then I shoot with a center hold, that way I’m shooting within an envelope of like an 1” high or low over a large range. I never bullseye shoot, I shoot in a field at boxes, bottles, prickly pear cactus, feral hogs, or whatever at some undetermined range. I hate the combat hold because it feels unnatural to me, covering up what you’re trying to hit and it makes shooting at longer ranges even harder.

there are a few ways to do this. You could dry fire while slowly pulling the trigger. You want minimal movement of the sights when dry firing. You can get an empty casing and put it on the end of your barrel and pull the trigger, if it falls off, then you know youre jerking the trigger. Finally, you can get a pink rhino laser or something similar and see if the red laser streaks or moves after firing. Its pretty obvious with the laser if you're jerking the trigger.

Try centering the trigger on the first joint of your trigger finger and pull back from there and adjust your grip to make that work for you. Dots are excellent for training because they provide so much visual feedback when compared to irons. I strongly recommend dryfire/practicing with a dot however you choose to run your gun for that reason alone.

Other tips:
-You have a Glock iirc. It doesn't matter ultimately but I prefer flat face trigger shoes to the OEM because they are easier for me to pull straight back
-Do not worry about the specific mechanics of your grip so long as you can pull the trigger without moving the gun and can handle it under recoil. It's much more important to have a consistent grip. Consistency matters because you can predict how your gun will behave under recoil and thus shoot faster
-Don't squeeze the gun too hard with your trigger hand. Too much tension degrades your ability to pull the trigger smoothly and without any jerking. Your strong (non firing) hand conversely should be very firmly planted into the grip.
-Practice your draw, transitions, and dryfire 15 min a day for 3 months and you will end up a better handgun shooter than 99% of Americans.

If you've worked with mechanical watches it's doable. You have to remove the movement, pry off the bezel and scrape the old insert off (it's stuck with glue or adhesive pad). Afterwards clean it from residue (use a solvent like IPA or isohexane), let it dry and put the new insert on. Factory will have a pad on the rear of it, but you can use glue if you're handy or cut out a circle from some sticky tape for a bodge.

If you never took a watch apart, let a watchmaker do it. Seikos are usually easy to get serviced.
