so buddy got the highest position in the German Army and suddenly they are building thousands of tanks, artillery and all the other fancy stuff you need.

At this point there is no hope for Russia to even gain one meter if they are trying to do something stupid.

Russia has never been in a position to threaten Germany at any point since the breakup of the soviet union, so either all of this shit get donated to Ukraine where it can actually be used, or its all just wasting money on faggot posturing. This is true for all of the rearmaments going on across Europe, it doesn't impress me to buy new tanks to defend against tomorrows problem, when they could be used to solve it today.

>European militaries don't exist solely for fighting Russia
Considering these rearmaments are procured for the explicit purpose of curtailing Russian aggression, and without that as a driving factor, Europes militarys would remain at the minimum skeleton crew necessary for performative UN deployments; yes they do exist for fighting Russia. But because Germany has so many conflicts of interest regarding Russia, these tanks will never be used for their expressed purpose; and so to adopt them to sit doing nothing while a nearby country is doing exactly what they are built for; renders what was supposed to be a big propaganda victory into a total cowardly farce.
>>63960576
If they eventually get used, yes. If they sit in a depot for 50 years then get scrapped, no it was wasted money. Having weapons is a strategic neutral, its other factors that decide whether its a good thing or not.

Both Russia and Ukraine will suffer complete collapse within the next decade. The orange man told you to dance like a monkey and you did, spending trillions to arm up. Spending a little money on thousands of tanks and artillery does not mean you automatically have the tens of thousands of men to crew, operate and maintain this equipment. Western governments have spent decades giving men every reason to not fight for their country and now we’re expected to hop in a Leo and go get droned in a field. The money shouldn’t be spent on tanks and other old-world weapons, but rather on improving the life of the average man so that when the wolves are at the gates he is more inclined to pick up a rifle.

ukraine is flat, perfect tank territory and tanks die in the ten thousands, literally, without achieving anything. building cold war era tanks right now is like building a lot of bows in 1550. youre setting yourself up for failure and just burning tax payer money.

realistically the tanks will sit in storage for 30 years and then be sold off to bulgaria which then re-sells it to ethiopia and algeria. in case of war these tanks will become drone, mine, atgm, gunship, artillery etc. fodder.

I guarantee you that for every European man the motivation of not being under the zigger boot is good enough motivation. The threat has just has to be credible for people to get up in arms about it, which is part of the messaging here and in other statements. In Finland for example, the homeland defence willingness against a superior enemy is at 83%, though we are an outlier in that regard at the moment. But I'd be willing to bet if similar credible threat from Russia was presented to other EU countries, they'd see similar numbers.

I'd also put money on EU countries bringing back conscription too with in this decade, all of this & other messaging is laying the groundwork for it imo.

Im angry that its bullshit. The big stick is being acquired to deal with an opponent that is currently having it back broken in Ukraine, so unless the aforementioned big stick is sent to Ukraine to assist in that goal or western troops themselves are actively deployed to Ukraine, then its just the same cowardice as the very capitulations over the last 30 years that allowed Russia to do this in the first place; just with a layer of China-tier face-saving.

It's purely a way of making work for the German military industry and has no military purpose. They should focus on building drones, missiles and planes. Ukraine has shown that tanks are useless in the modern age where you can't mass troops anymore. The T-14 failed exactly for this reason : it's too big to conceal and too slow to evade. With drones even third world armies can fuck up your multimillion dollar tanks with 40$ quadcopters from Temu.

Sanctions delayed production but it entered service last year, very quietly because of design faults that rendered it useless : its very slow reverse gear made it impossible to evade drones or enemy fire. So they pulled it away from frontlines and decided to stick with T-90s.

Cool it with the revisionism. If ukies actually fell during the initial push, russians would go into the Baltics to cause a fait acompli before NATO (hurr-durr escalation, hurr-durr why die for Tallinn), discrediting and causing the organization to collapse. Without NATO's umbrella, most countries in Europe would piss their pants and low key surrender.

Speaking from Kyiv, Freuding confirmed that a formal agreement between Ukrainian industry and the Ministry of Defense was signed yesterday.

I think there's just internal elements in Germany that don't want the tech to leak to slavs, or to give up competitive advantages of their MIC.
Ukraine is going to have a hell of an MIC after this, Germany might be thinking longer term about them competing with Rhinemetal etc.

I doubt vatnik propaganda is really a problem and the wrong people are in power for vatnik assets in Germany's parliament to have any influence over it.

>>63973000
>fake news.
>he never used the word "missile"
Sure but I don't think Rhinemetal is entering a joint venture with Ukraine to build a Schwerer Gustav.
What other kind of long-range weapon system do you think they mean?

>he refused to talk about taurus
Because it's a sore point in domestic politics, probably partly because of MIC lobbying and partly national self-interest. A monkey-model of Taurus with the spacemagic stripped out or replaced with something exportable makes way more sense.
Ukraine doesn't really need every bell and whistle on the thing, just being able to blow the fuck out of ammo dumps with precision will be great.

I do think Ukraine should build some extreme-range artillery though, it's not like Airfields and Moscow can move and the stagnation and improvised nature of the war lends itself to low tech solutions like Paris guns, a Schwerer Gustav or railway guns.
A Project Babylon isn't unreasonably I think.

Not so much the propaganda but some degree of 'public image' with the voters I'd sort of bet on, course they're not going to be slinging the latest and greatest things for free, but there's a lot of technical and tooling that would help. >the slicked side part just required for German officers
Probably more permitted than required.
That's basically as much hair as their grooming standards permit males to have.

>He is looking like he is 1 bad mustache away from Hitlermaxxing desu
You mean Hitler looked like a German soldier with a bad moustache?
That doesn't seem that wild.

Hitler was larping as a Prussian soldier...well, it's not really fair to call it larping because he was one once but he was deliberately affecting the style to appeal to veterans and young, low ranked soldiers as a political tactic.
Prussian grooming regs said that hair that stuck out from a hat must be kept short and anything under the hat was yours and you could do whatever.
This leads to lots of short sides with longer tops that had to be parted and slicked with gel to stay under the hat or (when out of uniform) stay neat without the hat.

tl;dr:
It's just Prussian/German military hair fashion and Freuding seems to be a bit of a traditionalist.
Can't let Hitler ruin everything.
