Shifting the way that the military views training with drones at the small unit level is a really great idea. Flying a Raven sUAS at NTC was nearly impossible with all the FAA rules and additional red tape layered on top, I can't imagine how hard it must been at homestation. Allowing units to purchase drones as consumables (instead of as sensitive items) and go out and train with them is the type of thinking that is needed, regardless of what you think about the role of quadcopters in the next conflict.
