Finally upgraded my PSA build with a BCM upper. One thing is the Geiselle super ambi charging handle is insanely rough in this thing, there's one really rough spot that it almost seems to get caught. Obviously if you grip it and rip it it doesn't have any issues, but i'm worried if the BCG gets fouled up it could cause issues. On the PSA upper I could practically ride it home and it would send it all the way. I've never heard of this happening with charging handles, only witch BCGs (the upper came with a BCG so that's not an issue) will this go away with further use or could it be an issue?

Put it all over the charging handle, everywhere that it could possibly make contact, and rack it about 100 times. Then clean the leftover compound out of the receiver and the charging handle. It will take the coating off, but it's aluminum anyways, so it wont rust or anything. Paint it afterwards if you feel the need to do so.

This may not make sense to non-car guys, so I am writing a follow up. Valve lapping compound is basically sandpaper in a paste form. It's used to lap/grind valve seats for engine heads, but it works for any metal parts that need to be worked together for a perfect fit. I do it to all my rifles and it makes them buttery smooth.

Remove all lube from the gun with brake cleaner, wipe it down and repeat until it is completely oil free. Then spray it all down with compressed air. Tape off anything you don't want painted (Sight posts, glass, etc) then lay down even but very light coats. It will take about four or five coats to get one side completely covered. Wait about 10 minutes with the rifle in the sun between coats for it to flash dry.

I use majic brand hunter's matte finish oil based spray paint. It's like $8 a can, and can be found at TSC near the tractor paint. Since it's oil based, most chemicals won't bother it, and it is not water soluble, so rain wont make it fade.
