Rifle calibers are more velocity dependent. 5.56 out of a 20" coincidentally is down to about 400 ft/lbs at 500 yards, which is generally considered the max effective range and of course that number will be lower with a shorter barrel

I'll give you a hint: stabbing things isn't like popping a balloon. There is actually quite a bit of force involved both in the penetration and removing the knife from whatever you stabbed. You don't want to subject little mlok tabs to that. It's not a simple drop test and a flashlight, you are thrusting with all of your strength.

I've wondered about both. The latter seems potentially useful. I remember being taken by surprise when I tried lifting my shotgun with a muscle group I'd neglected. I don't have an SBR, so I don't know if I'd get a similar surprise there.

If you're not interested in either, a mid-length gassed barrel like 13.7 - 16" will shoot and handle 100x better than a suppressed SBR.

To be clear: I'm trying to hold the shotgun mostly level with just extra elevation at the barrel tip, not just rotate it skyward. A bipod makes shooting from that position as simple as pulling a trigger.

I measured myself in different poses, and reasoned my bowels and thighs were most difficult to target when I was prone.
Everything else (near the center) has bone to disrupt bullets in flight.
