Another is that a lot of soldiers are mobiks, with mobik-grade reflexes and situational awareness. Especially the combat engineers. In other militaries, combat engineers are a specialist branch, and often get higher salaries. In the IDF, it's the opposite. This is because a country of 11-something million, of which a not-insignificant percentage are Nazi-propaganda-tier parasites, simply can't really afford a large standing army with permanent specialist postings. They are forced to penny-pinch wherever possible (hence the lulzy instructions on their rations).
Yet another one is that, during operations in Gaza, a number of ground pounders got got by makeshift .50 cal heavy rifles. No amount of personal armor protects from that, so infantry (who could easily spot/stop suicide biodrones) are often reluctant to just hang around in the open.
