what's the total unloaded weight of the m2?
does the charging handle fold into its notch automatically or do you have to push it? I saw that was one of the changes

It was right after I got it. There’s an X300 on it right now. I’ll probably wind up getting a Cloud Defensive light once I get the new handguard. If I were to mount a rifle light once it now I’d just put it on an offset mount on the top rail with a tape switch on the foregrip.

I bought it for the MP5 for the memes, but saw the AUG mount and couldn’t pass it up.

It’s really just a fireworks launcher. They have 37mm flash bangs and smoke canisters you can fire without being registered as a destructive device. Apparently the ML37 is literally just the ML40 without rifling, so if you ever wanted to convert it to a DD, it would be relatively easy to rifle and bore out to 40mm

I probably ought to pick one up as a backup to my M1, maybe the NATO version since it comes with a bolt release paddle now and I'm not interested in left-hand ejection.
The AUG in general is a great rifle, arguably the best 5.56 ever, and if it appeals to you it's absolutely worth the money—if nothing else, it scratches the "something different from my AR" itch like no other remotely reasonable gun.

The NATO stock coming with a bolt release paddle now makes it an easier sell than before, but it will always have a slightly worse trigger than the waffle stock, it can't be converted to left ejection if that matters to you, and it's just different enough that some aftermarket parts like the Gearhead Works Flex swivel and most case deflectors won't fit unless they have a NATO-specific version.
Unless you have a friend group who all shoot ARs and you're planning on sharing mags with them when the revolution comes, I can't really recommend the NATO stock.

Wafflefag here, I love the waffles, they look great, feel great, the 42 rounders are great. I do competitions with a team of 4, and considered getting the NATO stock for magazine interoperability but it's very rare to share mags as everyone has a full kit and no stage uses more than a couple mags. In a couple years of running competitions I think I shared a mag once, but lost dozens of mags because whenever loose AR mags end up in a pile my team mates seem to make off with them. They can't use my AUG mags so noone takes those.

The only real actual and true reason to get the NATO version would be if you already have a bunch of kit that holds AR mags and you don't want to change anything. It was a bit of a shock and pain in the ass to get my plate carrier and belt setup with waffle mags due to the catch on the back of the mag and the fact I was set up for AR mags. I ended up modifying some AK mag inserts to get my shit to work.
Anonymous No.63997962 [Report] >>64009690
>>63997289
Yeah, mag sharing is literally why the NATO stock exists and playing "will this fit an AUG mag" is a pain. AK pouches/inserts are generally the way to go because of the lugs and how thicc AUG mags are relative to the USGI mags most "5.56" pouches are sized for.

The Ratworx sear, if it's still in production, requires minor fitting and isn't consistently drop-safe ICW the red springs.

>>63996574
>>63997105
The gun is designed to be drop safe via the sear engagement + spring weight requiring enough momentum to overcome that the gun breaks first.
It's not as important for a rifle to be drop-safe since, in theory, if you drop your rifle your sling will catch it before it hits the deck.

Tavor SAR trigger is dogshit until you get aftermarket drop in, and even then it still kinda sucks. AUG was easy enough to work on to drop it to 3-4 pounds with a clean break. I really should measure it. Of the two the AUG is the better gun, I tried to like the Jewvor, but it never really grew on me.

Anonymous No.64010449 [Report]

I suppose it's not impossible, but the takedown bar channel in the stock isnt' going to egg out like AR FCG pin holes because the polymer isn't going to deform from any love taps it gets from the front and back of the (also plastic) bar, and you'd have to field strip the rifle in some weird, abusive manner over and over again for the receiver to wear down the bar any. I wouldn't worry about it, it's not going to affect the function of the rifle any more than loose upper/lower fit on an AR would, and in the extremely unlikely event that it happens, and it bothers you, the most likely culprit can be replaced in a minute or so with common hand tools (a flathead screwdriver)

With how the importer was hung up on ATF and where to serialize the gun for quite a while, then a changing of executives within the importer company, there's this other opinion Lithgow probably felt it was too much trouble to export and the incident just gave them a way out.
It was never going to make it over here, the ATF made sure of that, or at least the incompetence of the importer leadership.

Anonymous No.64016819 [Report]

This. People are just regurgitating nonsense. Dasan and Lithgow were arguing over who would "make" the firearm, aka receiver. ATF didn't really care what part it was but the issue was Dasan did not want to legally be liable for the rifle as a firearms manufacturer. Lithgow had nothing to do with that decision other than telling them they HAD to be since the gun couldn't come in otherwise unless the receiver was made stateside. Same as the AUG. Lithgow's statement after the fact was corporate bullshit and pandering. It had nothing to do with a decision to not sell beyond Lithgow knowing they couldn't import the firearm as is and they weren't set up to bring the gun in piecemeal like Steyr with a subsidiary making the receiver/barrels. (They tried to get Dasan to like Sabre and FN did for Steyr)

People are so ignorant it's retarded.

Anonymous No.64019802 [Report]

KNS is coming out with a—IIRC—27-position gas plug that should allow for a lot of fine-tuning, but the real answer is to just get a HUXWRX and call it a day. You're much more likely to be killed by the toxic gas spewing out of the ejection port than by anyone shooting back at you whom you might evade with a little more dB reduction at the muzzle.

They're all eminently submissive and molestable, it just depends on what vibe you're going for and what your budget is. If you just want The Gun from The Movie, you obviously want the StG, price and availability be damned. The A3M1 will probably be cheaper due to dealers trying to move old stock, while the M2 has a better charging handle, a bolt release on the NATO stock if you decide to go that route, and lacks the hump at the front of the receiver that gets in the way of putting extendo rails on the M1, which are all good to have if you decide to get more serious about the platform, not to mention being able to put a relatively modern optic like an ACOG on it.
