>Radio silence on F-16's in Ukraine

So what's going on? Are they being used on offensive operations at all or at they just being used for anti-drone duties? They got like 8 delivered if I am correct and 2-3 have sadly been brought down. Is it simply not viable to use them or is it that they don't have enough/not enough experience with them to use them properly? Is the next round of Norwegian/Dutch/Danish F-16's even close to being delivered?

The real reason probably is that the UAF just is pretty tight lipped. You get all sorts of kino footage daily from the ground forces, and from air operations generally get filmed from a spotter drone but not so much from aircraft themselves.

5 F-16 left and 3 Mirage-2000 is unfortunately not enough to deliver kino. More deliveries are planned, but still anemic compared to what is needed.

They've been shooting down shaheds and cruise missiles at a very high op tempo. The pilots are putting in a lot of hours. Its good work but not really news worthy or exciting. There's also been word they have recently supported the front with JDAM-ER and SDB strikes but its hard to say for sure since you just see the bomb impacts and they've retrofitted other jets to carry those bombs already. They need more F-16s before they can use them do to anything really spicy.

I dunno. At the start of the war it was useful tactic to announce such things as way to guilt trip western countries into sending support but i agree it's now stupid. With no end of war in sight and russian propaganda everywhere, supporting this war is becoming more unpopular by the day so keeping deliveries under the radar is essential for western countries.

they'd been playing goalkeeper, launching bulldogs and and magnums hoping, and the odd airstrike with stand-off munitions.

Yeah it was absolutely retarded making a big deal out of the deliveries, especially putting a dollar value on ancient cold-war weapons, making idiots believe (with Russian propaganda) we were sending them stuff we could have used on other stuff when in reality it was just more convenient sending it to Ukraine than scrapping it or storing in the desert.

Particularly this. Making it seem like they were sending cutting-edge stuff, instead of random shit which managed to dodge the first budget drawdown culling back in 2012, was vehemently idiotic.

technically, i don't think giving ukraine more f-16s would have helped much. they still have like around 40 flankers and mig-29s, it's just that they can't use them too offensively because they'll just die. and russia can't use their af too offensively either because they too will die, hence they resort to glide bombs so much.

both sides have competent people and capable systems.

giving ukraine 100s of tomahawks or something to force russia to make more concessions than they want, is the smartest play.

Biden admin couldn't meme. The way they sold it ended up backfiring and playing into russian disinfo. Trump seems to have run out of patience with Putin, I expect the way he sells it will be very different.
>Do we have a number on the amount of strikes UAF is carrying out?
The best source for something like that right now is going to be reports from places like RUSI. They have a fair bit of access and round up statistics in their assessments.

Problem there is those airplanes are maintenance heavy and getting parts for those is becoming more and more difficult. F-16's have like a billion parts laying in warehouses around NATO just waiting to be sent if needed.

Americans have a distorted view regarding Russia, actually believing the propaganda that RT is pushing. For them it's all about making the other side (Democrats who supported Ukraine) cope n seethe than actually getting anything good done, even if it does mean giving in to a dictator that hates Americans and wanna bring back the Soviet Union.

That has far more to do with established parties fucking up on things like immigration and the cost of living. It really has nothing to do with foreign policy. People massively overestimate how much voters prioritize that. Domestic issues always come first. And any gov that puts helping foreigners over helping their own people deserves to be run out of office.

Conservatives are authoritarian by nature (You didn't fall for the libertarian lie, did you?), so they'd have more of an affinity towards authoritarian sates like Russia over the western democracies. The real game changer was trump because he can't stop sucking Putin's dick and since the republican party is a cult of personality, everyone else fell in line with what he wanted. See how Republicans turned on America's traditional allies >>63983283 under trump.

>But mum weapon deal today!
You can tell he didn't want to do it because he was bitching the entire way saying stuff like Ukraine defending itself from putin's aggression was a' democrat' war and just acting like he was being held at gunpoint which is how he normally is when he'd forced to do something he doesn't want to.

Not gonna defend America, just want to nerd out that American DIDN'T have good governments... like ever. The US is a collection of state who won history lottery several times in a row, from all speaking one language to huge land of unexploited resources, two coasts, no real land enemy, winning a just war without much damage, attracting the best immigrants...
If America had any good government, institution & vote system, they would already control the entire continent with others begging to join them.
Yes America is powerful as hell, but it's ridiculously underperforming and the current POTUS is worsening that.

>How the fuck did Republicans go soft on Russians of all people?
Because current Russia is not a threat to them and actively supporting the Trumped-Republicans.
Republicans know it and do want/need the disinformation warfare in their favor that Russia offer. Turning the US into a plutocracy where the elite sabotage their own institution for their Red map strategy, brainwash their population around religions & race war, allowing to pay to rewrite history is all good for Russia.
Once reelected, Trump asked to stop looking into Russian disinformation as a way to encourage it. Even now, Trump likely still believe that he is such a good dealer, with so many cards in hand, that he'll totally sell a Trump-Putin win-win deal. (instead of the win-win-win Putin get from playing him like a trumpet).

I'm betting Trump will stop delivering weapons -again- the second he thinks, he can make a deal out of it.

He was already planning that by slowly but steadily cutting off Ukraine from weapons and intel, he was only forced to backtrack when Ukraine gave their massive 'fuck you' to him and putin with their massive drone attack on the Russians bomber fleet. People forget that just two weeks before the attack trump declared Ukraine had 'no more cards to play' and they needed to take the surrender deal offered by the Russians.
Or even more damning, the Ukrainians intentionally kept trump in the dark because they knew he's compromised by the russians and would instantly leak the operation to putin if he was informed.

The big thing to remember is America has coasted for centuries on honor and tradition where you've had a few major anomalies like the South committing treason because Lincoln won. And other times when corrupt moves were pulled like The Corrupt Bargain where Jackson was robbed by Clay or the Republican Supreme Court stealing the 2000 election for Bush under the impression it's not the new norm.
And in some cases when someone went out the norm, like FDR breaking George Washington's tradition of 2 terms, they immediately amended the constitution for term limits. Hell, even Nixon for all the corrupt shit he pulled decided to leave office when it was clear he'd be convicted. trump on the other hand has no honor and would burn the country down before being held accountable. Remember, this is the guy who is always saying anything he loses is rigged against him and staged a coup in 2020 because of the cope, a cope d'รฉtat if you will.
