I dont know for sure but I can't imagine they haven't. It's just a truck, theres nothing magical about them. HIMARS is actually the cheap expendable version of the M270 MLRS system. The only thing it really has going for it is mobility which obviously helps it launch and then scuttle away to hide, making it harder to kill, but again, it is, just a truck, with a rocket launcher on the back, It's a Grad, but American, so its precise, reliable and effective.

On 5 March 2024, a Ukrainian HIMARS system was destroyed for the first confirmed time, after being tracked by a Russian drone and targeted with a missile near Nykanorivka, Donetsk Oblast.[79] On 15 August 2024, the second confirmed loss of a HIMARS system occurred in the Sumy region, making the total loss to two destroyed and two damaged.[80]

Oryx records no M270 MLRS lost
>(which i think are better war machines)
the basic bitch M270 doesn't have the essential GPS uplink which gives HIMARS their very fast shoot-and-scoot ability
they're also tracked which is slightly slower than wheeled
that said, the M270 can carry double the number of missiles that HIMARS does, so you can use one of those where you would need two HIMARS
some M270s also have been upgraded with GPS links
> iskander has been their most effective asset for hitting time sensitive targets.
yes

>>63986843
>basic bitch trucks with about a million bucks worth of gear strapped up to them. Which is pretty fucking cheap
HIMARS actually carries some pretty fancy electronics which few other armies in the world have, e.g. a robust and powerful GPS uplink that allows it to locate its position - and therefore prep a fire mission - faster than most other artillery systems

i think their better off-road mobility is generally more useful, since when opfor catches on to you using roads for quick ingress and egress and they have the isr, you're actually more at risk of getting hit even though your overall mobility is better.

it all depends on which way the heat jet went. if it went into the crew compartment, then it's likely damaged to various degrees. if it hit a non-vital area, then it'd be mostly fine. the latter tends to happen more often than the former when heat warheads hit vehicles.

The gear is 'good' but its hardly bleeding edge electronics, like anything mil-spec they just build it tough and good enough. Rest is still a box full of tubes and a nifty reloading winch which I think in terms of usability is a fairly fantastic addition. Otherwise you end up with dumb cunt soldiers with a lump of wood trying to bonk the rockets into an MLRS one by one. Its sort of that factor alone apart from being cheap which means you just need someone to drive a truck, not an entirely foreign skillset, someone to run the comms and fire control gear with someone else to supervise and do the fire mission details.
Kick over a rock in the average western military motorpool and at least 2/3rds of them will scurry out with some kind of applicable skills

Because something like 12 of them all but singlehandedly broke the back of the Summer '22 offensive. I take it you weren't here for the Summer of HIMARS, because we were getting multiple videos per day of them hitting major ammo dumps for months on end. Even if their relevance since has faded, the amount of damage they did in their first six months in the theater is beyond reckoning, and it has well earned its enduring fame.

To be entirely fair to the lancet, it may have scratched the paint up pretty badly. The lack of serious damage is pretty consistent with the other lancet strikes I've seen though. Many anons have noted the ineffectiveness of the lancet, which seems to stem from an undersized warhead filled with something like firework flash powder.

There's definitely one video that showed ammo cooking off and had Ukrainian confirmation of loss of crew. Otherwise there's been a few affected by frag damage (damaged not destroyed) that we saw loaded onto a plane. HIMARS are hard to hit because they're peak shoot and scoot plus they're not bitch ass thin skins with a bunch of tubes with the most explodium sensitized old stock rockets in them.

So realistically jack shit in terms of loss numbers.

They are pretty much like the 'Koksan Cannon destroyed' footage but 100x worse:

>Have they been destroyed/hit/damaged?
Yes.
>Are the numbers exaggerated and is the footage edited to inflate the claims?
Yes.
>Are they (HIMARS/Koksans) disproportionately effective?
Yes.
>Is it worthwhile to lie about how many have been destroyed for domestic propaganda reasons?
Yes.

Obviously this comparison does not take into account that there are 100+ 'HIMARS DESTROYED THE WEST IS FINISHED' videos for Koksan claim because ziggers lie. Koksan hits at least clearly show some sort of hit or near hit on a actual Koksan as opposed to a random truck, tractor or pile of logs.

Also the typical zigger brain is capable of understanding 'Koksan is a really long range gun' while HIMARS might as well be alien technology to them so they get a disproportionate dopamine rush from it.

'ZOMG WE ARE TEH BEST' thinks your average Russian for a month when he sees a faked HIMARS hit while a Ukrainian seeing a Koksan taking a hit thinks 'oh good we hit one of the damn things' for about 30 seconds and goes on with their day.

It isn't and i'm not say it it is. HIMARS is a war changing weapon, Koksans are an annoyance.

I used it as a comparison to the Russian HIMARS destroyed delusion, there are a few Koksan hits that are questionable but those can be counted on one hand, the Russians lies about HIMARS are several orders of magnitude greater.

I wasn't comparing the weapon systems, i was comparing the lies and propaganda surrounding them. The Ukrainians don't even lie about hitting Koksans, at best they exaggerated the damage a few times. That is almost meaningless compared to the utter bullshit Russia spews about HIMARS.

You still do from time to time, with enough regularity that it's clear they're still effective. Last I heard about a big strike was about a month ago, I think they hit an officer barracks or some other point target. Part of it is scarcity of appropriate targets, part of it is the advances in drone warfare, and part of it is ammo supply. But they are still quietly doing their job in the background.

https://yandex.com/search/?text=site%3Art.com+HIMARS&lr=91&search_source=yacom_desktop_common
out of the 10 articles on the first page, only 2 were published after 2023. HIMARS is old news

I think the only way that's possible is if the Russians hit a launcher loaded with ATACMS before it could fire, and also if the Russians had a 100% hit rate. Every iskander Russia fires at a hedge row, second story window, or just whiffs by 500 meters throws that balance completely out of whack.

How genuinely patheic. Its a retarded dictatorship on teh fringe of civilisation that tried to invade an ipoverished neighbour one third its size on its border and failed. Since that highpoinnt its becomme even more economically, militarily and polutically broken and its best fren is now that poverty state headed by the buttreball in north krorea. There's pathetic and there's Russia tier pathetic wrapped in utter failure combined with gradiose threats and subhuman behavior. Likea drunk crawling down an ally on its hands and knees screaminng how its goinng to get the bouncer who threw him out. The UKranians made shit of the Russian miltary and HIMARS was certainly a bit part of that at one point.

Ukraine's path to victory is to keep fighting until russia no longer can or no longer wants to sustain the war effort at it's current level, rendering it unable to achieve it's war goal of annexing most or all of Ukraine.
This means that both extra support for it's friends and russia fucking up shifts thing further in their favor.
We are to the point that the US is now squarely back on their side and putin saying that in 2026 he's going to tank the defense budget.
at that point the russians can't take over Ukraine, it's survives, it's won.

>>2. Why do Russians drag this war out against Ukraine which is constantly losing?
Ukraine losing doesn't mean they can't hurt Russia. Dragging the war out is beneficial to Russia if they think they've got a better casualty ratio.
>>3. When does Russia finally win?
Define win? Annexing all of Ukraine? Probably never.
Holding 4-6 oblasts with a guarantee that Ukraine will never join NATO? Who knows? A few more years? I don't know.

Yeah I realise it's not the same person falling for the sarcasm three times, I'm just lamenting that I've had to spell it out to three different retards in the one thread.
The fact that I said 'once again' doesn't mean the same person. It can also mean the same issue.

>if they think they can get a better casualty ratio
but they're only getting worse and worse casualty ratio's, they were losing the attritional war early on and they're DEFINETLY losing the attritional war now because russia no longer has enough force-multipliers for the amount of meat it's fielding, resulting in them just massacring their own troops by sending them into artillery and drones with lada's.

nah, the casualty ratio's and materiel loss ratio's using imperical, proven data show that russia is losing the attritional war, this is a well established fact known to many of this board's denizens.

seriously, man, there are actual videos of iskander hitting it's target, although rare, why die on the hill that this is a good example?

Anyway, retards, it was great conversing with you. I'm going to bed now because I'm Indian/Russian or whatever. When I awake in the morning I will spend my PutinRubles on some Tikka Masala.
Ukraine will suddenly starting winning because Russia is running out of literally everything except golf buggies and donkeys. Good luck with that.

THIS. Presenting it as some holy grail and having national celebration on any hit trucks just shows the poor state of Russia.

Real achievements would've been taking down a rail bridge or collapsing a tunnel where western help comes trough. And keeping it that way. What does a million hypersonics help for one PATRIOT launcher if there are still trainloads coming in trough Zatoka bridge and everywhere else. Only a retard or incapable wolud allow movement over Dniepr. Seeing how there's plenty of weapons for civilians says they're not up to task to shape battlefield.

To be fair, it was a smart move by Biden to limit how many HIMARS the Ukrainians got because it forced them to treat the ones they got like gold and not use them recklessly. Which is exactly why it took so long to for the Russians to destroy one, assuming that even actually happen and they didn't just blow up a decoy.

Range, rarity and the Norks probably to have better field craft than the Russians. They also seem to be built on extremely elongated T-62 chassis and appear to have decent armor, some of the footage shows light weight drone drops just bouncing off of them.

Those BDD cheeks are armour appliquรฉ, the turret still is casted steel, the last single cast turret designed by the soviets. Later norks turrets seems casted turrets cutted and rewelded to modify it. They're probably recycling their old crap.
