What is a piece of clothing/equipment for civillians that is actually quite useful/multifunctional, but it's rarely worn because it's seen as cringe, that you would like to see becoming socially acceptable?
What would you wear, if if it was ok and people wouldn't look at you funnily and/or smirk behind your back?

I kinda like the idea of fanny packs. They are a belt that is also extra carry equipment. You can put all sorts of useful things in there. A first aid kit, a powerpack of your mobile phone, pair of shades, a couple of extra mags ...whatever. But I wouldn't want to use one at this day and age, because they are seen as out-of-fashion cringy items.
If they would become "socially acceptable" again ...I probably would.

But they are usually used only by some alcoholic bowler enthusiasts with nothing else going on with their lives. So they have a bad rep.

Chest sling bags are fashion rage in Asia and dripping into Europe now. Probably because of the rise of thievery in societies

Personally I've seen enough instances of off body carry going awry to think the concept is more risk than its worth. Granted, being able to hold a full size pistol, multiple spare mags, a tourniquet, your phone, your wallet, a beer, the entire population of Finland, and your keys all in one bag sounds very convenient

I wear neckerchiefs and I don't give a fuck if people think it looks gay or stupid. They would all go out and buy them if their favorite celebrity started wearing one. The opinion of cattle means nothing to me.
That being said, fanny packs being out of fashion basically broadcasts to everyone around you that you are either a tourist or that you absolutely have a gun, and both of those assumptions will attract negative attention.

Messenger is larger, square, and worn under the armpit and flat against your back. They're close to a sling bag, especially as people have started purpose crafting them to sell and they've got the asymmetrical straps, but on the other hand, the ones that were and are popular are much smaller then a normal sling back and are instead fanny pack sized, because originally they were just fanny packs worn with a longer strap.

Might just be my perception but I feel that backpacks in everyday use fits into this category, even though I use one to lug around all the crap I need when I leave the house.
There really isn't any way to carry a lot of stuff around as a grown man that doesn't feel.. off in some way. Messenger bags, backpacks, laptop bags, fanny packs, they all have an immature/feminine energy associated with them.

This is quite relevant to the thread.
Because shemags are really, really useful and multifunctional. Hot climate, cold climate, arid or humid, doesn't matter. A hat, a scarf, a makeshift pillow, headband or blanket. They will have some use. It's just that if you wear them, people will look at you funnily.

Funny enough, there's a lot of not-a-fanny pack "cargo fanny packs" for hunting. A big belt of boxy pouches works well for hunting. I've thought about it but it needs shoulder straps and really being behind you makes it awkward to get to. Belt pouches like the M16 3x 30rd nylon mag pouch work well as a replacement (yes, even on leather belts) even if a hair small or a hair too soft-sided for some uses.

>>63996305
As silly as it looks that may very well be what I need for hunting. I hate single shoulder straps, though (would rather distribute on both with optional waist strap).

I'm not an Arab, so I wear neckerchiefs. They're traditional European workwear, and crossed over to be traditional Western/cowboy wear. You can get cotton or silk, plain or patterned, wear them in a variety of ways, use them for slings, cover your face and/or head, roll them like an tie or fold them like an ascot or just tie a knot and wear them cavalry/scout style, strain water through them, use it to carry things, et cetera. Mine are all homemade and plain single colored.

Technically there's an Authorization to Carry for the Protection of Life but literally two people in the entire country (yes, exactly two, someone wrote in and asked for a total number of licenses and that was their genuine response) have them because the RCMP will basically only give it to you if you've had like a dozen failed attempts on your life at which point they'll maybe entertain the thought that you could be in enough danger to need to carry a gun
That being said, when you don't give a shit and know how to avoid police attention you can CC anywhere you want

You might not like it, but this was peak Delta Force and unnamed CIA contractor tactical performance circa 2004 or 2014.

The real problem is everyone knows the camera vest is used by elite forces, so it's now just the shoot me first rig

comments like this are so retarded but it's a thing that I see a lot. Vaguely try to generalize someone and hope their own insecurities make them chimp out. Either a seething zoomer parroting some bs he saw online or a buckbroken millineal. It's like a basic bitch form of social engineering yet nobody seems to recognize it

truth is most people lose their purity/individuality as children in their teen years and only rediscover it in after their 20's.

also the fact that nobody on /k/ knew what a crossbody bag is is very telling to how out of touch you all are. Yall should be thanking the kinds of people you despise for making purse carry normalized for men lmao

Their primary practicality is against thieves.
It's difficult to grab and carry away such bag and you can grab it back with both hands to retain.
They are forward inside your vision so its much easier to spot pickpocketer opening or cutting bag to steal things.

I've got a couple of fanny packs I use for different gun things. I've got one that I keep my fishing stuff in, and one that I intermittently use to throw shotgun shells into for skeet(it perfectly holds an entire box of shells) and that I've also used for CCW when I get a new pistol but dont have a holster for it yet. It works out fine but I sorta don't like having a sack laying on my sack since I don't cross body carry it, also sorta hate having something around my waist. Maybe next time I'll cross body carry
>>63996288
I've got one but I've only ever tried it on one. It's a little big on me which is fine but feels goofy. Problem is I live in Florida and it's way too hot alot of the time to ever wear one of these reasonably. They are nice for throwing some mags into when you are goofing around but eeeehhhh

Also half of them turn 360 degree's and walk away from that belief when they become mothers and then all the sudden having a big pouch around their waste is very useful for keeping snacks and other distractions on them, even more so for them in fact since women's pants tend to have pockets that aren't even suitable to hold a single penny, never mind shit people usually carry like sunscreen a type-c cable and their keys plus a smoll 380 if they CC, hence why purses are sell.

Honestly cargo shorts needs to become fashionable again, those hippy faggots might have been onto something.

I think I'd like an ALICE butt pack but I feel they're too floppy and loose. Using one means losing water bottle holders and it going under my ass when I sit (as well as losing easy access) which bugs me. I think I might end up either modifying an old ALICE harness or making my own so I can easily unclip it and flip it like a backpack. I pretty much carry this hunting:
>2x water bottle (from the pack or reusable; ideally I could add something to keep them cool like mylar or foam)
>roll of bags (think: roll of film size)
>sometimes: surplus dry bag or grocery store bag
>sometimes: game cameras, hanging equipment
>some kind of snack (usually in exterior lower lg pouch, either for extended trips or in case of low bloodsugar, especially in heat)
>disposable gloves (often in pants pocket)
>spare mag (always in pants pocket)
>keys (always in upper small exterior pocket of backpack)
>wallet (mostly in same pocket as keys to keep them from jingling)
>camera (sometimes, usually belt pouch)
>sunglasses (often, usually belt pouch)
>gloves (jacket or backpack, depends on time of year)
What I often do with a backpack is clip the waist strap and only keep the left shoulder strap on. This means the left needs good padding. It leaves my right shoulder bare to be able to shoulder a rifle repeatably instead of the butt wobbling around on uneven shoulder strap padding (or it getting in the way otherwise). I figure putting the weight so low may help my back/shoulders as well, but I haven't gone all in yet. My other observation is that a belt pouch at my ~3 o'clock works fine but having one on both sides (9 and 3) often leaves my arms and rifle with little room to work with and hang comfortably. Too much at the 6 leaves me with a fat ass struggling to get through tight trails. Water bottles often crinkle or get in the way, too, which is a whole other problem to solve.

It takes me about 3 seconds to shrug out of my heavy LBE if needed but I can reach every pocket on the buttpack with it in-place. It's really a nonissue, I keep jacket and tarp in it, cordage, etc.
Good list for hunting, you can jam all of that and more into a proper belt kit. If you're looking for something really well integrated, check out the British PLCE, the paratrooper version being highly acclaimed. The pouches are the same size across the belt, it might distribute that chunky feeling you don't like.

Most of that stuff is all in your head. Like when you start carrying you feel like your gun sticks out so much and everyone is looking at it, when in reality they are not. Nowadays I'll even stretch and show off my gun on my beltline and people don't register it's there.

I was once hanging out with some DEA agents during a seminar. one was wearing a skin tight T-shirt. it took me four hours to notice his CCW on his back hip.
People really don't look.

as for the rural areas, they're disappearing, but when you get out into them, the police could care less and won't bother to investigate a complaint unless its repeating and won't show up for at least one day later. the sheriffs have better things to do; like harass farmers.

Yeah, until someone in their tight fitting skinny jeans with paper thin an shallow pockets and sleeveless shirt (with no bag or phanny pac/k/ to speak of on them) needs a tool like a screwdriver/scissors/can-opener, a drink to not die from dehydration, an IFAK to not bleed to death, or your backup gun innaSHIFT scenario because THEN they end up looking like the foolish girly little bitch boi and damsel in distress for being unprepared and (You) are the big dick swinging GIGAChad of peak masculinity helping them out minor inconvenience or a life or death situation with what you bring to bare out of your messenger/laptop bag or fly fishing sling bag.

Stop letting basedciety dictate what you can and can't wear. For example whenever I'm short on an ingredient when cooking I just throw on some bike shorts and a bike pack and head on over to the grocery store that way and stuff what I need in said bag since I'm not far from the store where I live. Yeah I occasionally get looks, I simply don't give a fuck though.
