Have those types of missiles actually been successfully used in naval combat before? A stationary land target is one thing but it really doesn’t seem likely to me a slow flying cruise relying on passive sensors finding and hitting a moving ship from hundreds of miles away.

There is no practical difference between a 160km or 300km range missile when you can't detect or lock an enemy fighter until you're sub-100km.

The India-Pakistan slap fight pretty clearly demonstrated that lobbing missiles from max range is minimally effective even against non-stealth fighters.
