I steal people's mags at the range. At first it was just for fun and I would take an AR mag here and there but then it got to be a sort of game. I would walk down the line and see how many I could take without being seen. My record in one day is 5 AR mags, 3 1911 mags, two glock 'stendos and an M1a mag. I also look for rare expensive mags that I can sell. I've taken two 40 round bakelite RPK mags and a Finnish Valmet 308 mag. There is a richfag that frequents my range and I have had my eye on him for a few weeks because he has an STG44 kit build and a Norinco 5.56 AK and mags for both are several hundred dollars apiece so you know I'm gonna get in on that

I have a handgun and ar-15 and yet I have not shot either of them despite having the handgun for almost a year now. I'm very shy and anxious so the thought of going alone to the range fills me with dread. I'm terrified I'll make a mistake and either get kicked out, or worse. To top it off I'm hideously out of shape and can't even hold the AR raised at firing position for longer than a minute or two.

Most places won't kick you out unless you do something egregiously stupid like ND or flagrant and repeat rule violations. Everytime I go to the range I talk to other people there, ask about their guns and what they're shooting, how they like it, etc etc. Nervousness comes from inexperience, and you'll never get more experience and confidence if you don't leave your comfort zone anon. Who knows, you might end up having a good time at the range.

I bought a Ruger ar556 for msrp during covid.

Used to have a nugget, pawned it for $60 when I needed allthemoney for an abrupt move to a different state.

I kinda want a PSA AK because I still play airsoft with a cyma ak and I just like the ergo. I don't really want to spend or shoot it much because I have a cx4 for rifle ranges.

I cut 4 coils off of an AR-10 recoil spring so it would stop binding and cycle properly and made it effectively a bolt action instead of just getting a proper spring for it. That was a year ago, still no correct spring.

I use a really simple way of determining how much money to spend on a gun or gun part: what is the cost of that part failing? If the cost is low such as your range day getting cut short, don't spend a ton of money. If the cost is high such as you getting killed because your gun jammed during a firefight, then buy something quality that won't break under stress. Obviously those are pretty extreme examples but you boys seem smart enough to extrapolate it.

My home defense rifle has the good stuff but my range toys are range toys. They're all going to blast piles of trash either way.
