Might as well have an exclamation mark balloon saying "TARGET OBJECTIVE" while they are at it.

Given the rest of their equipment, those are sizable upgrades to drag homosexuals through the street with. I wonder who they were being shipped to and for what reason.
Nearly all Puntland equipment is Soviet 60s garbage.

Turkey signed a deal with Somalia to drill oil. Basically protecting its interests. Turkey stabilized current Somalia government anyway.

It's because their pirates that they can't really afford to maintain steady patrols lest they get fucked by their rivals or lose opportunity by going out and patrolling on their ship for everyone else like a shmuck.

Probably going to be sold on the market or maybe sold back to Turkey to put cash in the pockets of elites. Itโ€™s not like theyโ€™ll ever be able to get parts and service for these things.

I think Turkey sells stuff to Somalia where buyer pays the costs and bears the risk of loss of or damage to the goods after the delivery from factory. And Somalians just hired a shitty freighter for this job with no armed guards.

Absolute shit job for both sides.

If it had armed guards, Somalians might be injured trying to board it only to realize it was carrying their order.

A semi-autonomous territory of Somalia that does not accept the legitimacy of Somalia as the ruling government of the state known as Somalia. There is also Somaliland which is kinda 'We wanna go back to the British Empire since it was better' side too. Somalia (proper) is kept alive by foreign support because they theoretically have the power to go 'We give you mining rights'. The issue is literally all starting because
>resources in X area
>area X is owned by faction Y
>Faction Y doesn't like Somalia government
>Somalian government funds faction Z to take faction Y's land
>They now can go 'we own this so we give [foreign state] mining rights'
So it has started a civil war with Somaliland wanting to be independent to stop their resources being taken by Somalia and not seeing any benefit for it.

I love the Otokar Cobra, will these be going to any groups in particular now that they are seized?
>>64009232
No, they are a cheaper, arguably more versatile Turk apc. Their similar appearance is a more than likely a coincidence. It has more in common with a HMMVW, as both share some systems, than the VBL.

They are bigger than the VBL, have V-shaped hulls, and are partially MRAP-equiped. Can also be used in many more roles than the 3-man VBL.

They share Detroit Diesel V8 of the Humvee along with is suspension systems.

the Cobra is also amphibious. Apparently the HMMVW's subsystems were chosen due to 'improved maneuverability and agility', which is surprising, as the later variants of armored Humvee's were seen as clumsy and overweight. I suppose a vehicle designed from the ground up with armor (and additional weight) would work out better, though.

It has multiple variants including ambulance, mortar, command, recon, and a few more. It can mount anything from a LMG, 20mm autocannon, HMG, and missile systems.
