Except the reason almost everyone stopped using them for anything but ceremonial purposes is that they'll get you killed. Look it up. It allows an attacker to physically control you and throw you around better than any other load bearing setup, it allows an attacker to choke you out with one hand, and it's not even that good at load bearing. It looks cool, though.

But, yeah, I can see it. If you have the officer's back and you reach over their right shoulder, you could apply an absolutely disgusting choke with it. Hard to say how it would slide around as you pull, you might not catch the left side artery if you keep the same grip, but you could switch it up and hold both sides like reigns in one hand. Of course, if you have someone's back their shit is probably fucked and you can choke them anyway.

That button is held on by literal thread, it isn't securing anything. The more I look at the whole setup the more of a garrot it is. I would absolutely choose to use a leather strap over a manual choke, it is the easiest.
