You'll need a special lower that's compatible, SSs are an AR trigger so you're looking for an AR trigger compatible MP5 lower. You'll need the SS itself, sometimes they are drop in but some times you may need to do some fitting. You will also need a "trip" for it. Pretty much the bolt on the MP5 isn't the right size/shape to work with the SS so you need a part to fix that. Last I heard you actually want one of the plastic trips and not a metal one, they're a sacrificial part and the weight of the metal ones tend to cause problems. I'd wait for someone who's done it to chime in too, that's just based on my own off and on research on SSing the MP5

I want something that I can eventually put a can on, so 8-10" barrel length with common thread pitch is preferable
I also want a flat top for my fancy optics, no carry handles here

I have this upper and it's working pretty well, a bit of trial and error to get it run properly. The BCG and buffer weight and recoil spring strength has to be with in range. I had just regular AR-15 carbine buffer with carbine spring it was doing slam fire doing burst shot at the range. Kinda fun but dangerous at the same time. Also people give you stink eye "Was that a burst fire?"

I get how it seems like a toy versus a select fire AR or something in a wartime scenario but being able to put 9mm accurately and rapidly on target easily makes a PCC likely good enough for anything a civilian would deal with. I always like how easy it is to magdump my Stribog and shooting it suppressed without earpro isn't going to make me worried about the EEEEEEEEE

It should, it will definitely still give you the EEEE if you do lots of that.
It's not that it isn't a capable weapon, it's that it isn't really capable of anything that I don't have a more capable alternative to in the form of an SBR (more reliable, robust, better ballistic capability, etc) or a handgun (near equal lethality, far superior concealability and one handed use).

I recently put together pic related with the same general intent that you described. Also while its still straight blowback, its honestly not bad at all. Total reciprocating mass is about 22 ounces which probably has mitigated the bulk of the recoil.
All in it was roughly $400 after waiting for sales. Feel free to make fun of me I guess

An MP5 shooting +p is the muzzle energy equivalent of a 30 round capacity 357mag duty revolver. It's the perfect balance of shootability/portability/ammo availability and price, and ballistic effect.
Mine will be on a torso with a sternum hold from muzzle to 200yards and if I gotta shoot it indoors without earpro it's quieter and easier to control than my AR or pistols (assuming no suppressor for anything)
They're a compromise gun but 9mm is a compromise caliber and it's still an excellent choice

I finally got a brace for my Mp5sd! I can't wait to feel how it shoots with my SS compared to the no braced version. Hopefully, I'll be able to do longer controlled bursts of super safe.

jfc someone just make repros of retro tube SMGs already. Or better yet smite all of the grabber laws on the book, and flip the governor/legislature for once.

I am really loving this ARMP5 lower, can't decide which brace setup to go with? I am torn between form (Magpul MP BSL) or function (SB tactical) due to cheek rest on the brace

Little mini review on the Flux Raider, might post more later if there's interest
>Round count: ~450 total, split about evenly between stock and current configuration
>Malfunctions: 0
>Previous PDW experience: a Mac clone I shot once
>Previous PCC experience: AP5, scorpion
>Current setup: compact slide, Eokek, TLR-1, silencerco barrel, Harrington arms flux specific comp, thumb ledge/gas pedal(forget manuf), right side safety delete
>Overall opinion: it kinda sucks, but it's great too
Recoil feels very similar to shooting a scorpion or similar simple BB 9mm PCC, this plus the trigger means you probably aren't going to be that much faster on splits vs a handgun. Presumably because while having less violent of an action it is a fraction of the weight and size of a full sized BB PCC resulting in a similar overall recoil experience. Practical accuracy isn't really improved until 15yds vs a handgun as long as I do my part, although it is harder to fuck up which is more valuable than most people seem to think. Practical accuracy, confidence, and speed is massively better and easier out at 25yds for me. No failures with the comp/barrel swap was a nice surprise, but the comp didn't make as much of a difference as I'd hoped on dot movement, it's free real estate though so I'm not complaining too much. If you want something in this size category its a good buy, particularly with the pricing apocalypse on used p320s, don't fool yourself into thinking it's just as good as an SMG style PCC though. It's a notably worse shooting experience and definitely falls more into the category of utility gun than fun range toy.

vector has an incredible FRT you should look into
the gun's cycle rate is extremely fast

Here you go, I did modify the file so I can put actual screw on there and modify the safety ring so it's not as loose.
