At this point despite numerous improvements the stealth coating is still proving to be rather problematic. With navy F-35s turning into rusting buckets within months and airforce F-35s being veery expensive per flight hour solely because of the maintenance of the said stealth coating.
Would it just be better to ditch it all together and paint it in the standard FS 36270 and FS 36118 colours that F-16s usually field.
>>64020186 (OP)No because the planes don't rust that way. Chink jets might be made out of pot steel but Western ones aren't.
If you are going to edit in a failing point of modern fighters, you should at least do it in a believable way.
>>64020191This is the first thread I've made here in ages and I haven't seen any thread on this yet. And I can be fairly certain I'm not chinese.
>but billibiliI was looking at a scalemodel page on weibo announcing a new 1/48 F-16 kit from GWH and they so happen to post images of F-35C rusting after asking "how can i recreate this with weathering washes"
there's no such thing as a free lunch. if you want the best stealth possible from the geometry, you still need ram.
saltwater is highly corrosive.
>>64020186 (OP)>One of the most visible issues is the discoloration of the aircraftโs surface, which can be observed after deployments, particularly in harsh environments. The JPO clarified that this discoloration does not indicate structural damage or reduced stealth capability. The statement notes, โMuch of what the public sees as damage, such as the discoloration on jets returning from deployment, does not represent a degraded aircraft.โHere's what the brits have to say about it. Publicly a nothing burger but if anyone knows more on the matter feel free to correct this.
>>64020201But is it still effective even when its completely rusted? The paints used on other non stealth aircraft USAF and navy uses supposedly also reduces RCS, and the F-35 geometrically has a very stealthy profile. Wouldn't it just be better to switch to the normal paints and keep costs down in the process. It would still be stealthier than the other 5 gen fighters they would likely face.
>>64020197For future reference, the phrase in English is "rust buckets" not " rusting buckets". That's what gave you away.
>>64020218Yes I'm an ESL, i'll give you a hint my country first f-35a flew a couple months back
So guys, here in Japan, Chinese people come over here in their thousands, snap up old homes, fix them up (shoddily) and turn them into Airbnbs. They do this because, in their own country, your offspring cannot inherit your land, the government always owns the land on which your home, etc. rests, and you only have the right to use that land for 70-ish years. Therefore, the Chinese horde property overseas to invest and protect their wealth.
This is causing a serious issue, wherein local people are having difficulty purchasing homes because the Chinese are hoarding them. It also negatively effects the neighborhoods in which these guest houses are located, because tourists are rude, and they generate noise and rubbish that the other residents have to clean up. Eventually, once a neighborhood is all Airbnbs, it will have effectively lost its "charm" (because there are no locals left to clean up after the tourists).
Anyway, this is the situation in the large city I live in, and I think this and other negative externalities involving overtourism, as well as overstep by foreigners buying up real-estate, has contributed to a new wave of anti-foreigner sentiment in Japan. This week, that wave propelled the "Sanseito" party to a big win in Japanese parliament this week, as they promoted themselves as the "anti-foreigner" party. This resonated with young people disaffected with poor economic prospects and sluggish wage increases, but also home owners who have suffered from the effects of Chinese people silently invading their neighborhoods and using residential homes to make a quick buck while ruining the peace and quiet and generally making life worse for everyone that lives nearby. I wouldn't be surprised if this wave of populism culminates in foreigners from unfriendly nations being banned from buying property for business purposes, at a minimum.
>Why are you posting this here?
There are Chinese people in here.
>>64020186 (OP)>With navy F-35s turning into rusting bucketsBullshit. Topcoat of the F-35 is a waterproofing polymer layer. Your pic is suspect since the underside of the planes don't show the same rust patterns.
>>64020213Hard to tell, the RAM compound is still highly classified, for all we know rusted RAM is better than paint
>>64020213Actually yes. Some RAM uses iron oxides to diffuse radar waves.
>>64020213>rustedComposites and aluminium alloys don't rust, anon. What you see may be a degradation of the RAM coating, but pretty sure not rusting structural components.
>>64020232how are the rice prices going? do you think they have to kick out the LDP to force a change in the agricultural sector.
arigato goy-massen for taking my question
>>64020232kek, you could have opened up the country to white people in 70s or 90s but instead you kept it closed until china and india manged to produce a few million rich people that now have the means to buy all your shit.
Anyway, let's hope your shinto blessings keep your F-35s rust free.
>>64020242The new trade deal Trump just struck with Japan will allow for the import of more US-grown rice. That will probably bring prices down in the short-term, as Japanese farmers will feel the need to compete with rice that "almost tastes the same". In the long-term, if the LDP loses its grip on power, or manages to form a coalition with these new, more conservative parties, they will probably aim for protectionist policies that lower the price, like increasing domestic agricultural production.
Personally, I prefer bread.
>>64020254Opening up Japan entirely, like right now, is never a good idea, because it ceases to be Japan, and loses anything that made it wonderful to begin with. Also, the handful of millionaires (i.e., the only tourists who meaningfully contribute to the Japanese economy by spending big during their visits) aren't the problem. It is the morally unscrupulous, mildly well-off nouveau riche that are trying to make a quick buck by piggybacking off of Japan's unique charm by turning small residential homes into motels. Millionaires, if they want, buy their own second homes, and don't cause as many problems. They don't stay in Airbnbs.
>>64020186 (OP)If it was actually rusting, you would see bubbling paint. Have you never seen rust before?
>>64020186 (OP)I dunno. I like it. It reminds me of Robotech/Macross veritech paintjobs.
>>64020192Your premise is false/made up/based on copium-fueled thirdie imagination. There's your answer.
>>64020228>chinkspammer is also an r/wojak refugee and foreignerLet me guess, you're underage as well? At least since you're noguns we won't need to worry about you shooting up your school like pic related.
>>64020191>implying helmettard and the rust retard are chinkspammersDoes Chengdu live lent free in youl mind?
>>64020458I like Chengdu, my favorite Chinese restaurant is called that and run by Vietnamese.
>>64020232Cool.
How does this make you feel.
>>64020469I laughed at how mad that person is. Was that your intention?
>>64020469Before Sanseito gets rid of us troops, they need to get rid of all the 5th column Chinese people in their country. Send them the fuck home. Sorry Chang, your property now belongs to the country of Japan
>>64020480>they need to get rid of all the 5th column Chinese people in their country.Their already low crime country would immediately be cleaner and safer. Chinese people are violent and filthy
>>64020469Shame i cant agree with them because of the first point. I like all the others.
>t. Armyfag that managed to behave himself (apparently really really difficult)
>>64020480Kek Chinese spending is what keeps Japan afloat. It literally has nothing else going for it. No technology, no enterprises that arent dinosaurs or galapagos birds, hell, even anime and games the Japanese are losing hard to China.
And Japs spend the most on Chinese gacha games like Genshin and Honkai, giving all that money back to China.
Japan's fate is to become China's economic colony and return back to being the Island of Wa, the Slave of the Imperial Court.
>>64020458No, but it lives rent free in the minds of jeet college kids, kek.
Also reminder that for a while Lockheed was manufacturing F-35 and Chengdu was making this fucking thing at the same time.
>>64020503>Posts thirdie export fighter >HAHA CHINA CANT MAKE ANYTHING MODERNok retard. If youโre gonna shit on chink shills at least have good material
>>64020492Japan has NAND flash and sensors that Chinese tech can't replicate.
China's destiny is to become like Japan and Mexico before it, permanently stagnant, surviving on debt payments, crumbling infrastructure, corruption, maintenance of failing industries.
Nothing personal, Chang.
>>64020492Cool fanfic, now kindly step into the boat.
>>64020492klek Chinese spending is what keep Japan afroat. It litololy has nothing else go fol it. No technulugy, no entoplises that not dinosaur or galapagos bird, hell, even animle and game Japanese are losing hald to China.
Japs spend most on Chinese gacha game like Genshin and Honkai, giving all money to China.
Japan fate is to become econolmic corony and be Island of Wa, srave of impelial cout.
>>64020503Nanchang was building the Q-5 (MiG-19 with facelift) until 2012.
The F-7 had some good looking variants that never took off, too obsolete.
>>64020232>There are Chinese people in here. You are wrong. They are not "people"
>>64020340>>64020357>>64020479>>64020462You're too obvious with your false flagging chang
>>64020546they were actively replacing them by 1993 though
>>64020523Okay, how many F-101's have the Americans exported as of late, hmm, Chang?
>>64020550It's kinda intersting how shills and schizos always go this route of false engagement and controversy. In the end it is always a testimony how they act in bad faith and how their threads are so shit they can't survive without their constant interference.
>>64020462>AI images of the F-35Images came from an american though? You have to be a retarded or false flagging to think its Ai generated.

>>64020556F-101s were a 40s design doe
>>64020563Nope, late 50's, same as the "olly fol expolt" J-7.
>>64020561some retards are trying to boogeyman with China, very organically and not forced...
>>64020529lmao it is impossible for china to become stagnant like Japan. Not the same atrophied corporate structure like Japan, where even designing advertizement flyiers to hand out in the streets needs the stamp of the CEO.
The Chinese business environment is hyper capitalist knife fight in a phone booth, with only the strongest and most innovative surviving the competition. The result is that you can buy a car for as little as 5000 dollars and a robot for 10k.
Jensen Huang already smelled the coffee and tries to get as much buck out of China with his H20s before Huawei or any other suddenly emerging startup eats his lunch.
Also, NAND flash has already been broken through by China recently.

It is more the immersion liquid and chemical resists that Japan still has a headstart in.
>>64020186 (OP)+5 sociar crerit, ameliKKKa is finished.
>USN carriers are constantly at sea, running their shit into the ground, constantly flying, constantly maintaining, constantly repairing shit on the planes, constantly patching up paint where it was worn down by human contact
>fake navies like Russia and China only take out their potemkin-ships, with their shiny air-show queen planes and shiny uniforms on photo-op cruises whenever the stars happen to align
>"Why is their stuff so worn?"
Performative face-cultures will never get it. They already demonstrated that they'll never get it when they were gasping in shock at that demo F-22 that was visibly rode hard.
>>64020579>IF I DO MY SEMANTICS MAGIC AND TWIST DEFINITIONS AROUND ENOUGH I WIN! >I CAN NEVER ADMIT TO EVER BEING WRONG, ELSE I'LL PROBABLY CRASH OUT AND KILL MYSELF! What a life you must live.
>>64020264>Opening up Japan entirely, like right now, is never a good idea, because it ceases to be Japan, and loses anything that made it wonderful to begin with. And Japan completely collapsing economically under it's steep population decline will also cause it to lose anything that made it wonderful.
>>64020623Im a different person btw. Your spergouts mean nothing to what I said.
What you posted is a MiG-21 F-13 thats been modernized as an export fighter.
>>64020232I find it so funny that Japan is like 3% non-Japanese and even that is too much for them lmao. Based japs, maybe we could learn something from them
>>64020621note how non of those tomcats or hornets are rusting and only have dirt from crews walking over them or respraying panel edges with rattlecans after opening them for maintenance
>>64020682Okay, so again, how many modernized F-101's have the Americans exported as of late?
>>64020708Okay, now lets see the patchwork on the implessive chinese showroom flankers on their potemkin-carriers.
>>64020708No shit retard, the skin of the F-14/18 cant rust. All that discoloration on the lead F-14 is wear. The F-35 has iron in its RAM coating. Iron rusts.
>>64020738>>64020731And whats your point retard? That americans do a sloppy job of maintenning there aircraft? You don't see bongs or italian f-35s looking like rusting shitbuckets or their harriers looking as filthy as those hornets and tomcats.
Whats up with americans and being unable to cope with critisim and constant deflection?
>>64020264>the handful of millionaires (i.e., the only tourists who meaningfully contribute to the Japanese economyMillionaires are only a drop in the bucket of your tourism income and if you don't understand it, you're a complete economic retard. When the chink flu hit back in 2020, you were almost begging for them to come back, because a lot of jobs depend on them. What else do you believe, that taxes come mostly from millionaires?
I can sympathize with hating the masses of chinks flooding popular places (I saw it first hand) and buying up property, but if you want less people coming in, I suggest fixing the weak yen first.
